I would imagine that the board are concentrating mostly on the new manager. Once the new manager is in place I would expect that those player like Fonte & Cork will be offered new deals.

The new manager appointment will tell us a lot about the power distribution in the club. If we get a high profile manager like Koeman, I would imagine that Reed would have to be "team player" rather than boss of all footballing matters. It's early days yet, but Kruger may still end up with many of us feeling he has done a good job come September.

To grow we need more fans esp outside the UK. To do this we need to start marketing ourselves more overseas. If Veho continue to grow then this may prove very useful.

I wonder if part of the "extras" in Rickie's deal is £xx,xxx every time he plays for England. Maybe a grain of sugar on a bitter pill!

Yes it's hard. I'm old enough to remember Channon, Keegan, Shilton leaving then Matt retireing. Each was hard. My 15 year old is a massive Saints fan and has idolised Rickie for the last 5 years. He is really down at the moment :-(

I think everyone will agree that since 11th May thinks have been pretty poor for us all. I've reached the stage than any positive saints news would cheer me up. By positive I mean, signing a player, appointing a manager or a statement from an existing player that they fully intend to pull on a Saints shirt next season. I wonder how far into June we will be before this happens? It's almost worthy of a poll!

I'm very sad to see him go. I'm not sure £4 Million was enough. He has been central to the way we play for the last 5 seasons. However, if he clearly want to go and warm the bench at Liverpool then he deserves his chance. If he has a good next 2 seasons and we get relegated then we will look back on this as a massive mistake, however, if we push onwards and carry on as a good competative prem side then we might view it as making a little money from a good servant at the end of his career.

I feel the board comes out of this looking very weak.

I had looked forward to watching 3 of our players in the team. But after the RL news and knowing that LS & AL are pretty certain to follow them, I just don't want to watch. At least Have I got News For You is on the other side

If the board sell ANY players before appointing a new manager then it will make them appear very week. I would hope the line would be, "you carry on offering away but until we know the priorities of our new manager nobody is for sale." Even £9 Million for Rickie is peanuts if we get relegated next season.
