Slogger, my heart goes out to you , your 2 grandsons and the whole of your family. Let me assure you that a few views from idiots on here ( who are probably just trying to provoke a reaction) are certainly not the views of the vast majority of Saints fans and people in general. I and, I am sure many many more citizens of Southampton recognise what a brave man your son was and thank him and others like him with all their hearts.Please , please do not let the babblings of the fools detract from the general feeling of appreciation and heartfelt sorrow felt by the rest of us.

For any one who was at the game today, read the first page or two of the match thread. Makes very interesting if not cringeworthy reading, same people again slagging Pards off about selection and moaning at how sh it we are playing. I love the way people who listen on the radio or a poor Saints Player link form their opinions without actually attending the match. I am sure some of these people want us to lose so they can come on after and say how correct they were!

Anyone who bought in to this Illingsworth instigated farce has my full sympathy. My friend took his 2 sons here as it was advertised as " A Family Venue" . He phoned me from Silverspoons and told me how the last of the previous nights clubbers left as they went in.Nice touch? Queuing for 25 minutes for a flat beer . He left after an hour.I am so glad I turned down the offer to join him and drank outside the ground , then under the stand. Have tried to phone Illingsworth but apparently he has moved to Monte Carlo!

I thought Claridge was a complete *** throughout ,never giving Saints any credit or praise, constantly saying how unlucky Carlisle were and bleating about how much money we'd spent. Who decided to have him on a Saints game, it would be like having Franny commentate on a skate game. I found myself shouting at the TV such was his lack of respect towards us.
