Have a whole mixture of emotions. Pardew came in as a saviour figure who did well but not quite, the style was a little rough and ready at times but we mostly got results. Didn't get going in the summer this year, bit like last summer but we all blamed his late appointment and the takeover shenanigans. Atkins has come in on a sea of underwhelment but has us playing a much more attractive style of football. Has been very fortunate to have Lallana come back firing on all cylinders as his presence has transformed the dynamics of the team. Lambert looks to have confidence again, Guly and Chaplow being used to good effect also. For me the jury is still out on Atkins but initial signs are good. Not too upset that Pardew has gone as I don't think he fulfilled his high billing. As I said our expectations on Atkins are probably not as high so he will do well if he can continue Pardews work, if he does it with more attractive football and surpasses Pardews level then he can be a hero to Saints fans IMHO!

Wouldn't know about other clubs apart from non league where it doesn't happen. But I reckon it is probably a problem in Championship as well as ticket prices would keep this sort of fan away from the PL!

I hope you are loving all this, but go and check you tube for our derby game last season and then you'll see that this had about the same atmosphere and build up to a top of the table side last year. If anything it is 'lets shut the lot from Bmuff up as they are doing our heads in'. Just a side issue for us. Bit like the Welsh, England is such a big game, but all we worry about is Scotland! So please disappear now as you've made your point and we can go back to the next game. (or still talking about the Pompey thread in the Lounge) cos we actually do give a **** about them still.

West Ham was different in that the holding companys primary business was as a bank, that owned a club. Our holding company was formed to run a football club wholey. Not sure on situation at Liverpool but suppose it depends on what/how the holding company does.

Is it time for an amnesty and invite everyone back. Could even be on a trial basis so can see how they get on, but i do miss the **** taking and the banter this place used to have.

The site seems to mirror what is happening at the club tbh. Very flat and uninspiring! As has been said the club seems absolutely watertight so no gossip coming out. Taken some of the guess work and fun out of finding out what is true or not as nobody is ITK anymore.

Probably no chance, but would love to see it happen, as it is part of this cities heritage and history. Quite fitting for a year where we are reflecting on 125 years of the Saints and all that is Southampton. Would be good to reprise a few more old songs too.
