I talked to a club on Monday But I shitting mush by Tuesday I was blowing chunks by Wednesday and Thursday and Friday and Saturday I signed on Sunday
  17. Of those only KWP, NT and CA are going to affect the team as it stands. Neither KS or ABK have been involved this season. NT moving is a chance for Sam Amo-Ameyaw but does leave us threadbare out wide. KWP leaves us with Bree and threadbare at fullback and CA has looked good when he's come on but the manager seems to prefer AA. I'm excited to see Ballard get more of a chance this season and we actually have the opportunity to give him time on the pitch without throwing him in at the deep end. Same with Kamari Doyle. I don't think they're just going to sit on the cash but realistically replacements are going to be central midfield (Downes if that is actually happening), a centre back (though hopefully 2), a fullback (if KWP goes) and a striker. Though even if we got no one we'd still have a squad that is competitive in this division. If we look back over the last few years we've made some pretty wretched panic buys at the end of transfer windows - Carillo (19m), Onuachu (20m), Lyanco (7m), Diallo (11m) because we missed our primary (and secondary) targets and decided to take a punt. Would rather stick with the squad we've got than do that kind of business at the end of this window. They say we have targets lined up - let's see what happens in the next week or two. I also remember how many windows it took Hassenhutl to make inroads into the players he'd inherited so we can't expect that to resolve overnight.
  18. The transfer thread has names there including Harewood-Bellis and Zak Hyner both of whom would be an upgrade. Neither of whom were playing in the Premier League last year. To each their own. If you're happy with Lyanco as a central defender then all power to you. Personally, I think we can do better. Saints haven't had a good central defence for some time. Lyanco is just the tail end of our poor recruitment strategy there. Sorry I offended you by holding a contrary opinion.
  19. So much this. If we're unable to offer him minutes then we're insane.
  20. I see your autobahn and raise you a free bar.
  21. Between Pellegrino and Jones we've spaffed £40m on two strikers who scored zero goals and played less than 20 games... That's depressing
  22. If Liverpool end up with Lemina...
  23. I'm not so sure. The moves we've made at the end of windows lately have smacked of desperation and a bit of random. The ones after we've been linked with a string of players only to see the exciting ones fall.through. For example: Diallo, Lyanco, Onuachu all seemed to be more about who was available than who we wanted. Whereas Livramento, Lavia, Charles and Manning were done early and clearly had thought go into them. Then ones like Carillo and Bree were more driven by the manager.
  24. But did he beat his chest every time he did anything. All that fancy schmancy defending is all well and good but you want someone with passion.
  25. Just cross the ball into our penalty area. Our defence has been rigourously drilled to mark space and give heading practice to attackers. If you're lucky we might even knock the ball down for you to shoot.
