  1. I'm not sure he'll be that much in demand - too old, too expensive and too much trouble.
  2. and me.
  3. Lol. I don't really expect Dune does much more than post on here with his refurbed HP. It's probably just running out of general life given the amount of time he's online posting on here! Also, MHS, "machines have souls" - why did my owner have to be Dune?
  4. In general terms that's right.
  5. Spot on. Not sure how Iran would have any sub yard capable of such a thing for 20 years or more.
  6. If you're stuck with a machine that won't upgrade and need to buy a new one, I recommend http://www.aria.co.uk/ They're an outlet that sells a lot of PC World type old stock etc and they're helpful on the phone, as the guys are both techies and friendly and happy to talk! You can upgrade last season's model for a few extra quid (more memory etc) and still get a new and guaranteed machine. For much less than you pay at PC World and the ilk.
  7. Stats indicate that IE is losing its dominance with Firefox, Chrome and Safari all making inroads amongst web users. I usually use IE and do have IE9 as my normal browser, mainly because I'm used to the IE format of tools etc. I do check the other browsers as sometimes I am asked to review how a website looks in each of them so I am aware of some of the potential issues that people cite about each one. Which do you use and why?
  8. I agree. Would love to see this kit back at some time. Mick Channon, Peter Osgood, Phil Boyer, Ted MacDougall, Steve Williams even etc.
  9. So for Chinny to buy Pompey, within a few weeks TB has to offload the following contracted players: TBH, Kanu, Huseklepp, Norris, Mullins, Mokeana, Lawrence, Varney and Kitson. Should be fun to watch.
  10. As allies why wouldn't they visit one another's graves? It may not have happened in total entirety but to attempt to bring politics into the issue seems bizarre.
  11. That's pretty good. I got 11/1 before the start of last season for Saints to get promoted (only £20 on it alas) and that top ten bet looks feasible to me, given any team below the usual top 7 or 8 could be placed almost anywhere.
  12. Oh yes, that probably doesn't work unless he keeps Fratton Park via a liquidation and new club to sell on with little debt in the future (as well as assets of other club ground etc). It's so confusing!
  13. I wonder whether there is a possible Plan C. Chinny to liquidate PFC and buy a struggling L1 or L2 club and relocate it to Fratton Park and selling the other club's ground for redevelopment.
  14. I'd rather he was offloaded cheap than paying the same again on his wages. He's a clearly unsettling influence.
  15. Why use a player with a very visible tattoo to promote a new kit anyway, let alone a colour change?
  16. From the News: Warburton 10:08 AM on 06/06/2012 Can't say too much at this stage because it would breach a long-standing trust, but following on from the Football League's AGM in Portugal, expect a very important announcement regarding the future of PFC to be made within the next few days - and if my source is correct (and he's been bang on the money previously), it will not be good news for the club.. ------------------------- Let's hope Warburton is right.
  17. I definitely think that the News story about the 14 day notice should be emailed to any club that shows the slightest interest in buying Huselepp or any of the others though!
  18. I too used to indulge from time to time. I view it a bit differently now having seen a few people who definitely have mental issues that are connected to cannabis use. I also have a problem with dealers of any type unscrupulously getting kids into drugs.
  19. I think we can be assured that the FL did not grant them a golden share unconditionally as they would have been shouting it from the rooftops by now. My guess is TB has had a final ultimatum issued by the FL to get a new owner in. On that basis I reckon TB's next move will be to announce that the club will go under unless the higher paid players leave on breach of contract by a specific date.
  20. If the FL takes no action publicly following their meeting, I think the assumption must be that they feel there is no need to do so, partly in order to not get involved, in the expectation that the financial end game is approaching in any case and TB will fold his cards in deference to High Court creditor obligations unless Chinny takes the plunge. Perhaps the FL has offered TB 30 days of June to get it sorted. From Chinny's perspective, with debts rising by the day, I'd imagine that he must be considering letting the club go into liquidation, holding on to Fratton Park from afar for a couple of years so it becomes obvious that there is no footballing future there to the council, and then selling for redevelopment at commercial land prices (maybe even with planning permission in place for something else).
  21. And also fill spaces with kids at no real extra overhead costs. Possibly a little too late to consider building a new fan base however.
  22. Tucking into my second bottle of sauvignon blanc so now philosophically befuddled. As far as I am aware PFC cannot sign new players until they are out of admin or signed a CVA (which one is it?). Both meaning a new owner. I think that includes free agents as well. Is that right? If that is the case, and Portpin won't buy until TBH and the others are somehow dumped (no money to pay them off), then it looks to me as though they will only ever have the 11 players currently on the books plus existing youth players. So if they survive long enough to start the season, they probably won't even have a viable team to turn out. Does that seem right?
  23. I hope they put the comments section back on the News soon. It gives me great enjoyment and reactions to today's articles would have been superb entertainment.
  24. TBH and Kanu won't budge and want full payouts says TB. He's clearly at the end of his tether which means the end could also be nigh. "And as for our friend, Ben Haim..." http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/kanu-wants-full-pay-off-to-leave-pompey-1-3907765
  25. I think it actually means that the current paid bill (excluding deferrals) is £50,000/week to those five players at £10,000 each. That is about £200,000/month and that is what they get each month from the FL as a Championship club. And that drops to £65,000 at the end of June. Just poorly written.
