It depends who says it. If it comes from an public school pupil such as Mitchell, it is clearly with real intonations.
  2. And also ignores facts such as the PST are effectively potless and would provide no better payment security to any future creditors.
  3. BBC article states that Ford are looking for efficiencies in its European operations. The article mentions the Southampton plant as a UK operation although Ford doesn't mention the Transit plant specifically. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19722284 I guess we've heard this before many times over the years and the Transit plant has always survived although vans are also made elsewhere in Europe now. Any views?
  4. I reckon you have to be 6 foot 4 to have a chance with a double breasted suit anyway. They just look like giant wraps on most people.
  5. Saints definitely did the right thing giving him the boot. He's been nicked loads of times now. Heading straight to clink before long. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19697940
  6. Good take from Clyne and deffo a good buy. Would have preferred to see him recognise his supplier Ramirez rather than just running across to supporters. A minor gripe in an excellent day.
  7. Signed
  8. Don't let it worry you that the FA have nothing to do with it!
  9. The site shows how many cars of all brands and models are still registered on UK roads. Check out your first car or ones you grew up with.
  10. I wonder what average attendance the PST business case is based on. Did they ever say publicly?
  11. The bridge obviously needs an upkeep and maintenance budget. I had an embarrassing but funny situation last year on the M6 toll booth. My dad was driving and he chose a cash bucket lane. I gave him the right money and he chucked it at the bucket but missed it entirely. The money bounced back and went under the car! So I had to get out a ask the car behind to move back a bit so the money could then be retrieved! Luckily everyone thought it was funny, except for my duffer dad!
  12. Darts, basketball, baseball, showjumping, badminton, tennis, rugby league.
  13. A friend had a good game called Wembley, in which you tried to get through the season and win the cup.
  14. I have to say I'm ****ed off with the result but it was against 9 men and all goals scored late, so not a fair reflection really. I'm interested also in this latest murky consortium. Seems the same as before really.
  15. Apparently Appy reckons Pompey are due to give another team a "spanking" at any time! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19454700 More realistically, the Crawley manager points out that four years ago, Crawley and Pompey were four divisions apart. He also states that with the game being live on TV there may be some Pompey players trying to put themselves in the shop window in an attempt to get a more stable contract elsewhere. Back to La-la Land, that'll be those players that Appy says can't play for another club until January, despite being on one month contracts!
  16. Tbf, he's merely replicating what we have here, except I don't believe any of the 73,459 posts on this thread to date have threatened any violence against Pompey supporters. I'll bet it takes the first 10 posts on POL for that to be suggested!
  17. 4 people shot dead in Annecy tonight! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-19494892
  18. As mentioned, tinternet will bias it to more recent players. Shilts is a walk in at GK IMO.
  19. Overall it looks pretty clear that Cameron and Osborne have removed ministers who may oppose their own economic and/or political programmes. Obviously, removal of Justine Greening at Transport makes it easier to get Heathrow expansion back on the agenda for debate. In my own field, most of the energy generation companies are displeased with the removal of Charles Hendry as energy minister as he was doing a balanced job with nuke, coal, gas and wind and had gained respect and trust. His replacement, John Hayes, is also on the record as being sceptical of renewable energy sources, especially wind turbines - hence likely to be a Treasury place man to counter the LD Sec of State Ed Davey as well as pleasing Tory shire MPs.
  20. As a sea scout in the late 1970s / early 1980s our boat hut was across the river from Vospers beneath the Itchen Bridge and was previously part of the Floating Bridge facilities. I spent hours canoeing across to Vospers and paddling up and down the sides of the Type 42s being fitted out there after launch. Recall HMS Southampton and HMS Nottingham.
  21. Perhaps the Murdochs want a slice of the health market. Just don't get ill! Dune will be doing his nut today, unable to get on here and spout his reactionary views!
  22. Can't take off the two talismans of Lambert and Lallana at the moment. That may change with Gaston.
  23. He was lucky!
  24. Section 56 of the FL rules make it abundantly clear that Appy is incorrect about players not being able to sign for other clubs if they leave Portsmouth. He's just talking nonsense again.
  25. I think the issue is at LB. Nigel tried to sign Buttner so it seems that he was aware of a need for better quality there and that area hasn't been filled. I don't know enough about Luke Shaw to comment on whether he can do a job right now.
