  1. Partick Thistle. For reasons unknown to anyone I discovered a Partick Thistle shirt at a jumble sale at the Avenue Church opposite the Cowherds when I was about 10 in 1978. It fitted me too. I was very proud of it playing at Portswood Rec.
  2. Thank you Trousers.
  3. I like to look at their site as it's generally good fun watching them writhing.
  4. Must have missed that. can someone do a link to the thread please?
  5. There are a couple of comments from Pompey fans on the News site claiming that Saints have borrowed £30m as a Cayman Islands bank loan. Now I can't see anything that verifies that and I would expect that Saints would borrow money for short term periods like any other football club that is credit worthy. But Cayman Islands sounds a bit of nonsense. Has anyone else a view or any knowledge about this?
  6. It may be the case that Trev is still very much involved but it is certainly telling that he is no longer in the media front line. Either he has decided not to be so high profile voluntarily or he has been pulled out by PKF. There are no other realistic possibilities. Either way it indicates that PKF are uncomfortable with the present position and don't wish to be too visibly associated with ongoing events.
  7. This is the 20th post of the thread and nobody has mentioned that he is the biggest (ock in football. I'd hate to go anywhere near him.
  8. Yay. The Mack is back. Missed Mack.
  9. Yep, Appy's had enough.
  10. If PKF think this is going down towards liquidation, one way or another, it probably makes sense to take Trev out of the limelight.
  11. I've just gone through the entire Micah Hall 2-part episode and it's quite astonishing. However, Micah's claims that this is all his work are nonsense. There is certainly one example where Hall refers to "we" in the narrative. Presumably the re-write missed that one. There's some group out there which has expended an awful lot of time, money, influence and effort to pull this account together - and it's not one individual. Take your pick of those with a grudge to bear, substantial resources at hand and an ability to gain (or relay) information hitherto unknown.
  12. Hope he has a bodyguard though. He's due a knee capping from Chainrai or a knee capping from the phew if his revelations put them out of the FL.
  13. The guy was jailed yesterday for 12 weeks. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/facebook/9594228/April-Jones-Facebook-troll-jailed-for-despicable-comments.html#
  14. Don't agree at all. These sites have audiences of millions so people have to learn the hard way that they cannot pour out their bigoted or warped opinions and expect to get away with it. Social media is a learning curve for society and people need to understand the parameters now before it's too late.
  15. At least 80% of the people mentioned on here. And I have never watched X-Factor ever. Last night I watched Evan Davis present Built in Britain on BBC2 at the same time.
  16. Looks like a corker! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_Thomas
  17. That's a good read!
  18. Ah, of course. Thanks.
  19. Excellent but I'm losing track of the cast now. Who's the one on the bottom left?
  20. Bit more squabbling between the PST and Portpin. It looks to me as though they are tearing each other apart in front of the FL and PFA who will say that neither bid is credible, enabling TB to liquidate without having to shoulder the blame.
  21. The piano has been drinking. http://www.ripcat.free-online.co.uk/waitshtml/thepianohasbeendrinkingbclyrics.htm [lyrics courtesy of Tom Waits]
  22. It's acceptable for a 17-year old to turn up at a wedding or funeral in any ill-fitting suit garb looking awkward. In fact, it's expected.
  23. PES, I entirely welcome your comments on this site. They add diversity. But it is ridiculous to suggest that the PST should be the new owners, as they simply can't fund the debt and ongoing costs. It's like walking up to a a mortgage broker and saying "I'll buy that house that is being repossessed but I can't afford the knock-down sale price because it includes debts that have to be paid off. However, I'll offer you a small amount now and I'll pay the rest when I get the money together. How about it?"
  24. Fawley was built as base load rather than peak but was sidelined by the oil price increases in the 1970s when it was still brand new. In contrast, Drax power station in North Yorks was built as a coal fired station (although 4x the output) and is still going strong, as coal is cheap though more polluting than gas or renewables. Though less polluting than oil in terms of power stations. I am working with Drax at the moment to help them cut down on their pollution. I am involved with a new carbon capture plant they are proposing which can be viewed at http://www.whiteroseccs.co.uk if anyone is interested.
  25. Sorry Alps, that's just nonsense. The potential sites for new UK nukes were decided about 3 years and companies such as EDF, RWE nPower etc all bid for the sites and bought them. There were about 8 of them and each one is located alongside an existing or closed nuke. They include Hinckley Point, Sizewell, Bradwell, Oldbury, Wylfa, Hartlepool and a couple of sites near Sellafield. Fawley will likely be reused in the future as a new CCGT (gas fired power station), as might Marchwood.
