  1. I'm assuming she's pregnant...
  2. We need a thumbs up/down thingy on this site!
  3. That's why you were a Navy cook ;-)
  4. I do find it amusing about the number of English people who said previously, "sod them, we don't need them", who are now all for the retention of the union though... This forum included! Two of my work colleagues were due to meet with some DEFRA comms people in London yesterday and the meeting was cancelled at short notice. The reason: the DEFRA comms people were off to Scotland to help prop up the No campaign...
  5. A close vote won't settle it as it will just bubble away as the nationalists campaign for another vote in a few years.

I think there's certainly a fine margin between 2nd degree murder and culpable homicide (manslaughter) in this case. But maybe the judge is looking at it from the perspective that there would be far less leeway for a prolonged and expensive appeal process with culpable homicide which still carries a 7-15 years jail sentence time in SA. Maybe he'll get an upper end of that. If Amanda Knox had got a culpable homicide sentence she'd be in prison now, rather than studying at a US university with zero chance of extradition for the appointed retrial.
  7. You might think that's the case but it ain't! I'm currently working with a large power station to ascertain surrounding land ownership. They have hired a company called Terra Quest to sort it out because it has proved so complicated. In that case there are loads of small parcels of land around the site for which ownership is unidentified, appears unregistered or is unclear due to old, lost and conflicting records at the Land Registry.
  8. One has to marvel at the Snooze making snooze though. And jobs for themselves. Five separate glowing articles about how the newly resurrected Pompey reserve team smashed the living daylights out of Peterboro reserves 3-2. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/fratton-latest
  9. A good few of them whining that the club should have received some of the money...
  10. Clacton is ideal UKIP territory though - old, white and poor.
  11. Good potential with disinterested attitude. No loss.
  12. So One of their forwards has decided to leave to pursue a career elsewhere. Neil Allen manages a five paragraph article. Funny how he manages 40 paragraph puff pieces though. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/striker-quits-pompey-1-6271856
  13. I love the element of mock righteousness that the word disgusting always adds.
  14. I'm a mega myope at -12 so I don't believe it would be worth it for me for reasons outlined by Sussexsaint above.
  15. Fantastic new stadium in the planning...
  16. A lot of enmity towards the US on my two minute observation.
  17. Jordan Cross has been taking notes from his mentor Neil Allen. He uses 15 consecutive one sentence paragraphs quoting Andy Awful. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/awford-fires-pompey-cup-vow-1-6232629
  18. Spot on. They have an extra small strip of land that they had use of before but didn't own that will be handed over if Pickles approves it and if Tesco decide they want to proceed.
  19. So it's 17.45 and the planning committee was due to meet at 14.00. The Tesco proposal was last on the agenda but I'd expect a decision to have been announced by now. Can't see anything though.
  20. The club said 90% of people supported the store and proposed improvements to the ground. Certainly no figures in the planning application that back that statement up!
  21. Raiding the piggy banks of three year old kids now - http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/axel-digs-deep-as-academy-campaign-nears-finishing-line-1-6220926 Is there no limit?
  22. Portsmouth Planning Committee vote tomorrow on Tesco plan . details in the Agenda Reports Pack at http://democracy.portsmouth.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?MId=2529 as item no 6. Basically being waved through by the planning officer subject to some road infrastructure upgrades to be financed by developer so no pressure on committee to refuse it despite quite a number of objections. What is amusing is that the proposal received a massive 33 letters of support from the public. This type of thing is clearly beyond the wit of virtually all of the skate support. Whether Tesco will push ahead with construction in its current financial position is another matter entirely.
  23. I think I need an historical update here based on the Guardian article that Tesco are pulling investment plans for larger stores such as that proposed alongside Fratton Park. * Who owns the car park if Robinson defaults? * What financial machinations were agreed between Pompey, Robinson and the Council? I'm sure there is more to consider.
  24. They need more presidents, yours for just £50K. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-searching-for-new-recruits-1-6197104
