Sorry to hear that Lynsey de Paul died today. I was never a massive fan but I do recall her for one reason especially. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29457228 Rock Bottom was #1 in 1977 when I was on cub camp at Brownsea Island and it played out of every little tinny transistor radio we had at the time. What other songs do posters recall for a personal moment in time?

SRL did the biz for us and will always be remembered. But at this point the sale of a 32 year old for £4m and purchase of a 29 year old replacement for £9m in Pelle is looking good.

I was talking to a SPAD (special advisor) to a Cabinet minister earlier this week and he said that this is the time when all policy turns political until next May. He also said that he and other SPADs of all parties are being lobbied increasingly now by special interest groups to get their particular agendas included formally and favourably in the political party pre-election manifestos, whether its NGOs, charities, business associations or trade unions.

How can a player be on the (admittedly limited) pace when Rodgers is playing him in exactly the same way that Hodgson does with a few minutes at the end of each match? Much as I like SRL he must have known that taking the Liverpool Shilling was probably going to cause his top flight career to wane away.

I'm surprised that anyone with a serious conviction elsewhere can be allowed into the UK. Perhaps it was just inadvertently overlooked.

Indeed we are but there's wrong and wrong! I love reading the wrong ones from the hysterical bedwetters though!!

I'd imagine the chances of those final settlements being made public is slim.

Good news indeed.

Definitely a date to be added to my Pompey diary. This one has Gunwharf stadium written all over it.

"Scrapping among the muck and bullets..." so OTT it's laughable. Comical Allen at his best.

We should thrash QPR. If Rio Ferdinand is too old and not good enough for Man Utd then he's certainly got a tougher task on at QPR.

But good enough to best Neil Allen at the News... that's a straight forward report without all the verbosity and propaganda that Allen and his henchman spout.

Blimey, better be careful here. It could be construed that running short of making the Tifosy target, the HNWs pumped £50K through the system so that it made target and looked as though it was from the general fan base. While at the same time quietly increasing the loan value or their own ownership percentage. That would be against all that Tifosy stands for of course. It's all very quiet about the share ownership breakdown these last few months in this new era of transparency.

Well, Salmond's pledge to respect the outcome hasn't lasted very long - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/scottish-independence/scotland-could-declare-independence-without-referendum-says-alex-salmond-9747555.html

As I don't have any shares in Tesco I'm quite happy about the issue of a third profit warning today which caused the shares to fall 10%. Dodgy accounting. They look to be a good match for Pompey but, alas, it probably won't be. Squeaky bum time for Robinson and the Pompey board. I can't see another supermarket retailer stepping into the breach on that site. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/epic/tsco/11113002/Tesco-accounting-scandal-QandA-what-happens-next.html

Another ref who can't handle the big time pressure at Fratton Park - http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-boss-calls-for-time-wasting-clamp-down-1-6312188 Plus a hero who scored a goal in a league 2 home draw - nothing like ridiculous hyperbole - http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-hero-savours-career-best-1-6312226

Players Saints have been notoriously unable to cope with over the years...

It would be interesting to know how many of the season ticket holders are possible targets for the Car Finance Company.

2-0. Oh dear, oh dear. Meltdown time tonight...

1-0 to Southend...

I agree fully. He may have been caught on the hop at the boat show by the journalist but she was clear with her questions and RK's responses sounded unstructured. They were simple questions. He should be prepared to respond to a set of expected questions and answer concisely. Simple Q&As brief considered and learned by rote is easy to do. All successful companies do that with their senior staff.

But tbf none of them have said that Salmond is a smug **** and that is their reason for advocating no... And as for MI5... one SNP campaigner, their former leader Jim Sillars, made that claim some months ago. Not the SNP itself.
