  1. Moran and Boyer just sniffed opportunities to score out of nothing. As did Pahars. Channon and Davies for knowing their goal scoring jobs with others about them.
  2. Lallana: "Now to be here for another three years is brilliant. I'm just thrilled really." Guffaw... spot the PR feller at work!
  3. I agree Pahars was fair weather but not so sure he was cynical.
  4. I am a self confessed crisp-aholic but am trying to improve. Today I have had no crisps but, when peckish at snack time, have eaten florets of cauliflour and broccoli, got through a couple of carrots and bitten on two plums. I reckon I have eaten over 10 units of fruit and veg! How mad is that? I might live until I am 130 at this rate.
  5. JP is calling good shots, seemingly telling the playing employees who have no interest in Saints to bugger off pronto. I fully expect to see Skacel and BWP offloaded before the transfer deadline. But which players signed by Saints have most cynically and deliberately taken the club for a ride? My vote goes to David Speedie. Though some of Burley's signings follow close behind (II fits a bill for me).
  6. Good to see JP also makes quick reference to Matthew Pattison in that vid clip. Shows that he is not ignoring home grown talent despite getting loans from big clubs in the form of Pekhart and Cork, who may not be better. Burley seemed entranced by Hammill simply because he came from Liverpool yet ignored our own youngsters of the same age.

    Cider

It's funny how cider snobbery has developed again. For years the only stuff you could get in a supermarket or pub was Strongbow, Woodpecker or Bulmers. Then Magners kicked off the new mass interest in the drink by advertising but many people think Magners is the cider equivalent of Carling so all these speciality ones have appeared on the mass market though they were in existence before anyway. I'm a bit of a snob tbf... if it recommends pouring the cider over ice, it's probably ****e that is sold on marketing to kids! So I avoid it!
  8. There's a great garage on a street corner on the lower end of Shirley High Street which is run by a bloke called Bruce who has been there 35 years himself having taken it over from the previous guy called Stan who died about 15 years ago. Not sure of the name but it was an ex-Renault franchise from the 70s and for years it still had the Renault yellow paint. It also had a showroom with a load of dusty old vintage cars that had to remain there for some weird reason to do with somebody's will. It's probably different looking now. My family has used the garage since the early 70s and Bruce really knows what he is doing and is an honest bloke also. Recommend it to anyone who has any car that they don't want to take to a franchised garage.
  9. What does Glitter think?
  10. No, it's a misguided principle thing with the bottled lager I guess.
  11. A good article overall but I think journalist Matt Barclay uses licence... he talks of Saints fans calling JP and MW the Dutch Donkeys when Lowe appointed them... never seen that phrase on this site or elsewhere! PS. Here's Archie Gemmell stitching JP up in 1978. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB0nFze1Fdw Not sure it's a classic nutmeg, more a case of JP committed to a tackle (he's the number 2) and Gemmell reading it.
  12. Absolutely right. It's all about triangles.
  13. Oh dear... back to horrible pub lager, pork scratchings and farting competitions then. Being a tight git I refuse to pay for bottled lager unless it's a special occasion and I just can't drink bitter all night.
  14. Is it wrong for a bloke to drink white wine in a pub when he's surrounded by his buddies who are on the beers?
  15. Supply and demand. He's clearly not alone.
  16. Are you going to give us a breakdown?
  17. I like the match previews that have been introduced on the OS now.
  18. Ghee whizz! What a thread.
  19. Sarah Palin as running mate for McCain. Interesting counterbalance. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7588435.stm
  20. No difference between that and the Labour or Tory party electing a new leader. Numerous candidates compete, one wins, the rest close ranks again.
  21. Good point. Let's not immediately encourage the muppet element to consider him their new kicking boy a la Jermaine Wright.
  22. Yep, that car qualifies.
  23. Much needed humour on the site. Did you see BWP's non-reaction to Lallana's goal the other night?
  24. I think Alps neglects to say that even 3G mobiles don't always work up mountains or down cellars!
