  1. I thought Maggie took the RN away?
  2. Doesn't it annoy you when you see multi-lingual websites and the English version is marked up with a stars and stripes though?
  3. What a load of tosh Craig Swan writes!
  4. I expect to see at least five more European airlines go down by the end of the year. Many of them have not felt the full effect of pricier kerosene yet as they hedged against cost increases earlier in the year which has protected them until now but those deals are running out.
  5. I have no problem with RE being part of the national curriculum as long as it is studied in an impartial and philosophical manner. It is then of worth and interest IMO, as it combines morals, history, sociology, politics and more besides. It is when it is taught in a zealous manner that it is of doubtful use.
  6. What a turn about... Should be top flight cricket next year no problems now.
  7. 122-6. Come on...
  8. Their fleet is pretty modern, 2000 and newer aircraft in the main. They're worked hard but should be alright. Some good cheap bargains for other airlines from the receiver eventually no doubt. http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/XL%20Airways-active-b737ng.htm
  9. Why don't you invite us all to Cornwall Kippy and blow the £5K on the mother of all stags?
  10. I'd guess the only non-organic milk is where fertilisers from surrounding fields have washed across. Farmers are not going to fertilise grass are they?
  11. I prefer to read a book whilst driving. It's therapeutic on busy motorways.
  12. This is clearly why there are black holes elsewhere. More advanced alien lifeforms have previously conducted their own CERN type experiments with catastrophic effects...
  13. Rather than operate from the top end of the spectrum by buying organic I have cut my cloth and have eradicated the real ****e from the bottom end of the market - no ready meals, stuff clearly rammed with additives etc. It seems a more effective way of doing things.
  14. Tonight - more bloody house painting (utterly sick of it) Saturday - Gotta work as have Monday deadlines to meet Sunday - Watch QPR stuff Saints
  15. Good article about Walcott here. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jul/20/arsenal.premierleague
  16. Killer is a good club captain and mentor at the very least. JP knows that he shouldn't rely on him though.
  17. So how much is a 50p E/W super yankee Kippy?
  18. Well played sir!
  19. Can't you say that you had fun though? Woot!
  20. Just imagine the outcry if, God forbid, a British actor said he would have been a Confederate!
  21. I am going to market stomach pills like Gaviscon and stomach medicines like Peptisol (or whatever it is) that taste nice. I will make a fortune. To start with I will mix with tomato sauce and try different things from there. I will need a guineapig obviously. If the guineapig survives he can have 20% of the profits from the subsequent patents.
  22. The really galling part of it although there was nothing that could have been done at the time is that Theo is undoubtedly worth £25m if he was sold now.
  23. Professor Otto Rössler, a German chemist at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen who is one of the most vocal opponents of the LHC said: "CERN itself has admitted that mini black holes could be created when the particles collide, but they don't consider this a risk. "My own calculations have shown that it is quite plausible that these little black holes survive and will grow exponentially and eat the planet from the inside. I have been calling for CERN to hold a safety conference to prove my conclusions wrong but they have not been willing. "We submitted this application to the European Court of Human Rights as we do not believe the scientists at CERN are taking all the precautions they should be in order to protect human life." Professor Rössler claims that, in the worst case scenario, the earth could be sucked inside out within four years of a mini black hole forming. The case he and his colleagues have put before the European Court of Human Rights argues that the Large Hadron Collider violates the right to life and right to private family life under the European Convention of Human Rights It sets out a series of arguments that suggest the collider could produce mini black holes that would permanently come into existence and grow uncontrollably.
  24. I visited CERN in April and went down the tunnel near the LHC. There were bits of silver foil wrapped around the machinery like sandwiches!
  25. I think that's very mean-spirited of the judge.
