But there may be a point that he's earning regular cash Atticus! Anyway, is there going to be a SWF Xmas party and will it be restricted to "full members"?

Not rocket science is it though BTF? It's saying those with a fear of the unknown tend to be more right wing as voters! There was a famous study conducted in the '80s that concluded that when the good times roll and society becomes more liberal, Labour tends to benefit. One of its measures was on fashionable length of skirts - when mini skirts and other sexy clothing are in Labour is in the ascendency; when its knee length time, the Tories win. By voting Labour I hope I can force mini skirts into fashion!

In defence of the LDs and Bungle, one of their conference decisions this week was to state that the UK is not is an advantageous position to enter the Euro right now. More research required SES! Personally, I don't know why they have come to that conclusion, it seems to me that with the current financial sector chaos affecting the US and UK particularly, those nations using the Euro are in a relatively good position because of strength of numbers, diversity of GDP and being less reliant overall on financial services as economies! Not what I would call a brave decision by the LDs at all!

Alpine and I get on fine as we have known each other years but I do think that he lacks a plan B himself at times. I'd like to know what Alps suggests as an alternative to the following scenarios: * Buy old hacks on the cheap and play bad footie like we did under Burley last year (though some of his old hacks were not cheap admittedly) * Use young players who may not be ready or even up to the task as creatively as possible with a few on field mentors as JP is trying to do Both options have their problems but I fail to see a realistic alternative given our parlous finances. Over to you Alps!

If you drill a larger hole you can kill two birds with one stone as you can make a gloryhole too. Just make sure you drill one in the office ladies and not the gents.

Interesting to see that Fiat is using the Grande Punto to reintroduce the Abarth brand, distinct from Fiat.

I reckon maybe 500 stay away specifically because of Lowe/Wilde. The rest of the disappeared are simply more plastic than the ones in attendance.

That would add 20 mins but I'm not too keen on it!

Heh. Priorities. That's what being an LD is all about!

I have added 10 minutes to my life expectancy. Passata, fresh garlic & chilli, italian herbs and one yellow pepper blitzed, heated and poured over pasta. Yum.

Lol, that place looks really bad!!

Can graphics be removed without damaging the paintwork? I think they're laughable especially on 1.4l engine cars but I am sure that they would affect second hand sale price as potential buyers will think that the engine has been ragged by a deluded kid!

Sheppy's ciders are the way forward. And they are quite inexpensive. Their Tremlett's bitter cider sent delicious shivers through me last weekend. All mass produced cider is ******** by comparison. http://www.sheppyscider.com/ciders.php

IMO at the moment our younger home produced players are as follows: James - borderline, not sure whether not good enough or not ready. May make it. Lancashire - good enough. Mills - too young, stop gap emergency only. Gillet - borderline, may not be good enough. We will find out soon. White - not ready yet. Thomson - looks good enough at the moment and better option than Dyer. McGoldrick - borderline, may not be good enough. Lallana - good enough. Pick of the crop. If I am right then it demonstrates that as before only about one or two players are good enough annually to make the grade and the position is no different than before. Hopefully I am wrong and JP will convert some of the borderline players into ones that are good enough. It will be interesting to see whether that is possible or not with his methods.

The cricket pitch at the old Richard Tauntons site on Highfield Road was riddled with them at this time of the year. In fact, it got so bad that the university decided to plough it up and build on it!

Not necessarily. The first past the post voting system disadvantages them as they simply don't have enough solid first choice support in enough constituencies. At a general election (though not a bye election as we have seen recently) both Labour and Conservative have many more natural seats than the LDs who basically suffer from a lack of identifying ideology, an ideology that would enable them to also have as many natural seats.

Rome was not built in a day and many of you will recall Wilde's comments on this forum a few weeks ago after the Exeter game when he said there will be highs and lows in the coming season. I think he's right. Some of our youngsters will cut the mustard and push on whilst we will unfortunately see others who are not ready yet or who will be exposed as not good enough anyway. But as we find our natural team and supplement weaker areas with loans as necessary I think we will still have an enjoyable though tough season that will lay important foundations for the future.

No mental tenacity and no intelligence either. Not a good combination.

Nominate your favourite choice and explain why it gets your vote.

China looks good still. Energy is also good still.

I watched the Liverpool game with a Liverpool fan. They were ok first half but fairly dire second half. Even my friend agreed with me.
