Whoever invented Ribena should be knighted.

Virgin also don't let you talk to a complaints dept. You have to write to it at Swansea.

Frank wore the number 9 shirt yet only scored four goals for us in 83-84 when we finished runners up to Liverpool. He just used to receive the ball and flick it on to the onrushing Steve Moran or Danny Wallace to score. It's all he needed to do.

20 dead on a Russian sub. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7718156.stm What's it all about TDD?

The problem with 442 is that it is standard fare for CCC teams and they'll still bash us off the park. JP's current tactics are as good for us and maybe better in the longer term this season.

Agreed. There's no way we should consider building a defence around Svensson unfortunately. I think he should also consider the long term effects of trying to push his knee with implants and injections. He'll be buggered by 50 at this rate. The right thing to do is keep him on this season as a sub when he can play and then offer him a coaching role because he obviously has a huge heart, immeasurable mental fortitude and great experience that can help the others.

To all those who were subjected to a 'Section 60' at Swansea
TopGun replied to Thorpe-le-Saint's topic in The Saints
I'm afraid that branded clothing of that nature does send off a message though. It's little more than a more expensive version of the shellsuits and hoodies uniform and that's how the police see and react to it. -
Yes, but your poor grasp of English doesn't inundate others with confidence that you are right unfortunately.

Can't say I agree. May be a vote is the answer.

Oxford University's top [sic] ten most irritating phrases: 1 - At the end of the day 2 - Fairly unique 3 - I personally 4 - At this moment in time 5 - With all due respect 6 - Absolutely 7 - It's a nightmare 8 - Shouldn't of 9 - 24/7 10 - It's not rocket science Daily Telegraph top ten list: 1 Literally 2 A safe pair of hands 3 I'm gutted 4 Basically 5 Going forward 6 Upcoming 7 Shouldn't of 8 Up until 9 Neither here not there 10 On a daily basis I'll go with "at the end of the day"!

And me. I had to read it twice before I understood!

I saw Rainbow in about 1982.

Some dozy cow nearly knocked me off the road earlier by changing lane without checking what was behind properly. Luckily I was already aware of her as she had done the same thing about 30 seconds earlier to somebody else in front of me. She should go on one of those courses.

Happily my mortgage was switched to Abbey earlier this year and they are passing on the full 1.5% cut to customers.

What kind of pooch will be the next to join a long and illustrious line of White House pets? Reports suggest that because daughter Malia has allergies, the Obamas may be considering a "hypoallergenic" breed that sheds less hair. Options could include a labradoodle - a cross between a Labrador and a poodle - a schnoodle (schnauzer and poodle), or a ****apoo (****er spaniel and poodle). Malia, however, is rumoured to favour a goldendoodle - a poodle crossed with a golden retriever.

A friend of mine went to some Sky Sports roadshow/sportsman's dinner last week and the hosts were MLT, Paul Merson and Chris Kamara (Stelling was on hols apparently). Someone asked MLT what was his highest basic wage at Saints and he said £4,000 per week. Seemingly Merson didn't know that at all and fell about laughing as he said he was being paid £35,000 per week at the same time by Villa. I'd guess MLT earns more nowadays in retirement as I've been told he gets £7,000 for each Saturday show and £2,000 for extra events like the roadshow evenings. Plus his extras from Flybe etc. Bit galling to think that a player like the forever injured Jason Euell is on three times MLT's wage 10 or so years on when we are in the CCC these days.

Usual inter force rivalry IMO. Each has a role to play in different situations. The Navy has had the least to do recently (in terms of war) which is why it is the one that gets cut all the time. The UK has less than a third of the amount of destroyers and frigates than it had in 1982. Obviously the current ones have better fire power and range but it's still very stretched.

You only have to work through public domain documents to find out which SSBNs are due for refit and rotation. Given there are only four of them you don't have to be Einstein to work out which one is on active patrol. The point you should be making is that we don't know where that particular one is right now. For example from the News section of Vigilant http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/server/show/ConWebDoc.13943 Entered Plymouth 13 October for major refit and nuclear refuelling.
-
Right... scheduled refits and rotations are all a ruse.
-
Hilarious. You can log on to the RN site to find out which of SSBNs are in port in Scotland.
-
TDD will tell you he's not part of the bombers. He's on the SSNs. How do I know this as he hasn't told us all before what he does?
-
You have mentioned your rank before actually when you were talking about a possible transfer to London... Why are you more qualified to talk about women in the Navy than my officer friend is? You don't know what he does either. Your original point is in keeping with the usual stuff you spout on the lounge though! So full marks for consistency...
