  1. 1. Carnival 2. Anywhere 3. As silly as Concordes look.
  2. I did gymnastics at Heathfield on Sat mornings!
  3. There used to be a real secret at Sholing railway station on the side that goes to Fareham.... The closed up station house there was home to a model railway society and their model railway (with model landscaping, trees and people etc) was about 10m long and had a terminus station etc. Vandals would have loved it. Not sure it's still there though.
  4. ****ing lefties hiding everywhere avoiding work Ponty.
  5. 1. Good point but I can't be arsed to change my phrase to enter key. 2. The ones from the supermarkets are crap and fall apart quicker than my current Dell one. I will now spill another drink on the current keyboard to make it more sticky.
  6. lol... even Crouchie wouldn't do that. I liked Crouchie and got on with him but he hasn't let his new persona on to me yet. Tell me Ponty by PM, Crouchie won't mind...
  7. I generally work from home so don't get an office cleaner sorting my keyboard out from time to time. Plus I can smoke and drink etc in proximity. Just had to unstick the return key which was a pain and makes me wonder what else is in the depths of the keyboard too. Maybe time to spend £30 on a new one! How sanitary are your keyboards?
  8. Blimey Corp, we just laugh at the various scenarios you throw up but you get so serious. At least we understand that buyers for both Saints and Pompey are thin on the ground!
  9. It makes you sound more stupid than the woman at BBC Bristol. Many bearded muslims live in London and use the tube everyday along with every other commuter. In fact how would you even know who was in your tube train space at rush hour?

    Job Hunt.

I think it's the difference between approaching an agency and specifying stuff rather than just e-CVs on mass sites that normally are a waste of time with agencies.

    Job Hunt.

I know agencies like Man Power are mainly labour based stuff but when I was in my late teens there were definitely a few office based agencies in town... surely some are still about, I think there was one called Brook Street which gave me an office job for about six months at BT for example. I also got a job at the PO through them for a bit.
  12. And Ponty, you know most of that's rubbish. Just compare NHS waiting lists now with 15 years ago etc.
  13. Yep, some fog horn!
  14. That'll be the same BP and Shell who once again posted record profits last week. George is on the loopy juice again! I miss him when he doesn't post though...
  15. Another 500 just to keep him punch drunk.
  16. Are you sure? http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1915463.ece
  17. Holmes was always under rated. He was great in 83-84.
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/fds/hi/statistics/cricket/scorecards/2008/11/15319/html/scorecard.stm President's XI 224 England 98 I'm afraid that the Stanford fallout doesn't appear to be over.
  19. I didn't know Wilde was a scout though. And it seems he has spotted potential that other professional clubs couldn't see! God, we're lucky at SFC to have people like Lowe and Wilde.
  20. Fry had managed elsewhere of course though. The other thing I wonder about is how much does Lowe know about football. Let's face it, he's been around for the best part of 10 years so that probably does give him as much insight as many others in the game!
  21. And also that Bin Laden would be top left. Jorge must have really got under somebody's skin!
  22. According to the survey nearly half the nation cannot use the possessive apostrophe and, most annoyingly, often replace "they're" with "their". The apostrophe has emerged in an independent poll of nearly 2,000 people as the punctuation mark that causes the most problems. Nearly half of UK adults tested were unable to use it properly. The most common mistake was not knowing how to punctuate a possessive plural. Nearly half (46 per cent) of those that sat the test thought that, in the context set, "people's choice" was wrong – whereas it is, of course, correct. The test was set by voice-to-text service SpinVox, which automatically converts mobile phone voice messages into written texts and emails, complete with appropriate punctuation. The poll also asked which mistake makes people the most annoyed. Replacement of "they're" with "their" gets us most irritated. In second place was using an apostrophe to denote a plural – as in the use of the incorrect "boy's" instead of correct "boys". Joint third was using "its" instead of "it's" and vice versa – the confusion between a plural possessive and abbreviation of "it is". Professor Christopher Mulvey from the Museum of the English Language at Winchester University, one of Britain's foremost English language experts, said: "The problems people have with apostrophes arise from the hopeless state of English punctuation and spelling. "The situation is so confusing that people panic and hypercorrect. To get it right, you need to look up the rules every time you think an apostrophe might be needed – and do this for the next six months in order to 'internalise' the rules." Londoners came out on top as Britain's best regional users of the apostrophe, getting 78 per cent of the answers right. Surprisingly, the 55+ age bracket, whose generation had "proper" grammar lessons, came out bottom of the age ranges. The 25-34 year olds, who have not had the benefit of such technical tuition, were the best, averaging 78 per cent. The survey came just a week after Oxford University published the top 10 most irritating expressions which was headed by footballers' favourite "at the end of the day". To test yourself, answer these questions – identifying which of the below are correctly or incorrectly punctuated: 1. These are Charlotte Brooks' books 2. John is the people's choice 3. Buster is Janes' dog 4. How's it going today? 5. Johns' house is amazing 6. All the teams in the league are going to vote, so it is all the team's choice 7. You've got a lot of friends 8. They're friends are all very nice 9. It's a long way to Manchester 10. Its ahead of it's time
