Another deluded one: Archie Medes 7:33 PM on 03/02/2015 Just one further point that I've made several times before but feel duty-bound to restate whenever it comes up.....it wasn't Harry's fault, and it wasn't Peter Storrie's fault that we fell into that financial black hole. It wasn't even Sacha Gaydamak. It was the banks. I don't see why the banks should get off the hook every time this issue is raised. They called in all our loans overnight when the world markets went into meltdown in 2008. They panicked and thought only of their own greedy bonuses and reneged on agreements. Much as we like to assign such catastrophes to a personality, as usual the real culprits get off Scott-free because they are faceless and anonymous and that's the way they like it. Nothing makes them happier than to see us blame others because that means they can do it again and again. Yes, our CE probably negotiated contracts that were untenable. Yes, we were torn apart by the separate political and financial agendas of subsequent owners but make no mistake the root cause of our crash was the banks.

So the Green Party has dropped its ludicrous Citizens Income policy of giving everyone £72 a week. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/green-party/11383801/Greens-ditch-citizens-income-from-election-manifesto.html I guess that was always on the cards after Natalie Bennett's car crash defence of it to Andrew Marr on the Politics Show recently.

One of the most deluded Snooze posters named Droughty... "Tubbs has missed a few chances now - but he will come good - It just goes to show that even in form and confident players find their is a step-up to performing at Fratton."

Quid for a kid at Portsmouth next week at home to Hartlepool...
-
That being the key issue. Hartlepool next is a cup final for the Skates.

No excuse for SWT rolling stock. The 450s and 444s are only about 10 years old which is less than half way through expected operational life. Of course, the late running might be down to Network Rail and track and signalling issues rather than the trains.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/vote-of-confidence-boosts-awford-1-6543712#comments-area Looks like Factless has had a night on the tiles in the video. But Neil tells us the board gave "emphatic" backing to Awford...

The phew are divided about it. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/awford-to-stay-1-6543300
-
But if Awford does beat Hartlepool, the inference is that he will remain? Suits me just fine.
-
I'd say 38% is about right. He has 7 wins in 26 league games this season but had that good new manager spell at the end of last season.

Must be trouble afoot when the Snooze shows a video of the bestest booing at the end of the game. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/video-pompey-booed-at-final-whistle-1-6541378#comments-area Has McInnes breathed some whisky talk about ringing the changes into the newsroom there?

Farage is heading down a cul-de-sac. Or dead end in English!

Ronald is right. JC needs to make a decision quickly. JC is not first choice as a screening midfielder as Victor and Morgan do the job better. But he does add some value as a back up but not against Palace... I think we should let him go if he wants to play hard ball on money. I'm sure teams like QPR, Sunderland, Hull and Aston Villa would take him and pay the out of contract additional wages. So he will do okay but is that what he wants?

Any POL quotes from the insiders please?

So pleased that this brave lady has made it through fine. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30967337 Her recovery demonstrates also that an effective medicine for Ebola isn't that far away from wider deployment - especially now that big pharma is being encouraged financially by western governments to get on with it.

Down to 18th

I like Neil Mellor and Matt Murray on Sky News as match reporters. They deserve a higher profile role at the expense of yesterday's fools like Garth Crooks.
-
I'll take a loss as it won't get Awful the sack today. But the next games against Hartlepool and Dagenham will be pivotal for Awful.
-
I'm loathe to credit Brown with mind games for two obvious reasons.

Excellent Gemmel

There's nothing that indicates any different. The Pompey Way just appears to be Andy Awford feeding the slot machine of cheap or free signings and loans with the hope that he'll get a winning spin on a player eventually. Perhaps it is just coincidental that Pompey's last win was towards the end of November and Alan McLoughlin left "by mutual consent" on 2 December for reasons never made public though.
-
Nobody from Saints in Mr Crooks' latest team of the week. No surprise really. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30872464

So it looks like Pompey would need 70 points to get 7th place and a playoff spot. That's 41 from the last 20 games. 10 wins and 10 draws would just about do it! Or they could get 70 points with 14 wins and six defeats. Either way they will need to match or better the season long form of the leaders Wycombe who are averaging two points a game.

Bottom of the L2 form league too. Warm fuzzy feeling. http://www.footballformguide.net/form/sky-bet-league-2
