Your devotion to Maggie seems odd TDD given she was the PM who started the downsizing of the RN. It was for that very reason the Argies reckoned they could take and hold the Falklands. A load of ships that were mothballed or heading for the scrapyard had to be reactivated including the carrier Bulwark (which was a failure as it had deteriorated so badly) and a load of Leander frigates.

I smoke also. This thread has gone on and on. I think the way to get some resolution is to call clubs that supposedly allow outside smoking and ask them how they do it. I will do it. Give me a list.

Why should SFC be any different to an airline, a train, a submarine or anything else? I know people will say you can have a fag outside the theatre at the interval but there is only one place you go in and out of. For a football club to do that (Derby, I know... let's find a proper view on that) is just silly IMO.

TDD and I disagree on many issues. He is spot on here in his analogies.

Israel has had outside military assistance for the 1949 war, six days war, yom kippur, 1982 intifada and everything between and since. Not necessarily wrong though. What would have happened otherwise? They also happen to be a lot more organised than the usual disparate and self-serving bunch of neighbouring states or militias that they face.

I think it's an absolute disgrace that although many TMS regulars are being paid today to do nothing, they aren't online. Where is the loyalty? Their employers must be furious about it. I intend to report S13SFC, Scott, St Stevo, MB, Lard and many others to their employers for being too busy to get online on what could be a good TMS day.
