What I think we all loved was the determination of the club, owner and players in L1 and the Championship to get back to the top level. They were so unique. Unfortunately it was so good that all the players got poached eventually and the replacements are just shadows of that in terms of understanding and commitment. I like Ronald but wonder whether we need somebody like Adkins back with his guts and determination and willingness to find and progress and play and trust British players. We can't compete on cash with the really top teams so we must be different to the rest of the pack too.

Agree entirely with the sold team spirit comment. We're just the same as any other team with foreign mercenaries now.

They was robbed!

You get to enter the FA Cup every year so the answer is obvious.

The clear point is that they have gone for broke financially to gain promotion this time around. And if they bugger it up it will be a big issue.

Have to say I would have preferred them to have lost. I like to kick that sleeping giant at all times.

Sick inducing crap from Portsmouth and the News. http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/blues-battlecry-immortalised-in-fratton-park-tunnel-1-6894712

A complete new team today. That'll hurt them later.

Yes, but signing up older players on 2 and 3 year deals will cause them a headache in a year or two. Again.

Flippin' 'eck. Comedy Allen is on speed today over at Pompey Pravda! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/adam-mcgurk-why-i-wanted-to-stay-in-league-two-1-6851991 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/why-ben-tollitt-can-be-a-pompey-success-1-6852131 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/boss-believes-christian-burgess-can-blossom-with-pompey-1-6852129

A number of the blue few are asking whether they are due a sell on fee for Begovic. I imagine, that if one existed, they would not be entitled to it in any case due to at least one administration falling in between the sale of Begovic and today.

But Pompey are going to beat last season's ticket sales... This is only the third time I have read the rehashed News story in the last week. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-on-track-to-beat-last-year-s-season-ticket-sales-1-6835991 And there's a nice video in the link below of about 30 pompey people queuing up to get last chance at their "early bird" season ticket deal which has ended now (for the moment) http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/michael-doyle-impressed-by-the-pompey-queue-1-6836116

If you had a class of 19 kids that was being dragged down by one of them, what do you think would happen?

Ashcroft polling was miles out then!

Yes. Lucent Group is the organisation with resources behind the proposal.

There will be exhibitions at Kutis Gatehouse displaying the plans to redevelop Royal Pier Waterfront and a larger improved Mayflower Park on 10 and 11 July.

Frankly I just see it as something that keeps Comical Allen and co in material during the off season.

I love their marvellous delusions at the News. Comedy Allen is now reporting that their new left back, an Aston Villa fringe player cast off, is aiming for an international call up with Republic of Ireland. http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/enda-stevens-tasked-with-international-challenge-1-6808098

I see the news that they are scrapping their reserve team again does not sit well with many of the posters. Not explicitly stated by the blue few, but the undercurrent feeling is obviously they need a reserve side to demonstrate that they are a "big club" rather than a tinpot also ran. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-scrap-reserves-1-6806392

This journeyman is a "marquee" signing who says he can handle the pressure! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/roberts-ready-to-be-star-man-1-6803953 GARY ROBERTS promised he can handle the expectation of being a marquee signing at Pompey. Roberts today sealed his long-awaited move to Fratton Park on a three-year deal for an undisclosed five-figure fee.

But at least they'll be playing "total football". http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/enda-stevens-relishing-pompey-total-football-1-6801298
