Saw that. My thoughts exactly.

Fact is, Celtic are a lot worse than they were and the other teams have caught up a bit - they can't accept that because they have typical big club syndrome. Would love to see us take him and wipe the smiles of their faces! Case in point: Rangers are about to sign Sandaza - a striker released by Brighton after being deemed surplus to requirements after a season in league 1! haha

I'm getting increasingly confident about this one - if it was never going to happen then Lennon would have said as much. Question is will we deliver the knock out blow? Well, I reckon we'd rather spend money on Hooper than the other's mentioned. Young, huge potential, resale value, European experience - get it done Cortese. I reckon he might move down here too - SPL is a mickey mouse league and Celtic aren't any great shakes in Europe these days.
-
According to my Donny supporting friend Sharp was at training with them this morning - so perhaps the Foxes haven't got their man?
-
The arrogance of their fans is staggering. Celtic would be nothing more than a borderline top six Championship team in my opinion...Stokes was absolutely rubbish for Sunderland in this league yet he's setting the world alight over there. Hope we do sign Hooper just to see their reaction now.

There are a vast multitude of quality players who will improve our squad who some of us haven't even considered but our scouts will have. I'd be worried if we couldn't find a striker up to it who wasn't Billy Sharp and didn't want 20k a week. Just because you haven't necessarily heard of a player doesn't mean he won't cut it - and these lesser known players are the ones who won't want huge wages. Sharp has become some kind of demigod on here because of a good season with Donny - its easily forgotten how he failed at this level with Sheff Utd - I wanted to sign him but he isn't worth 20k a week.

7m? They must be joking - I find it quite funny how Celtic and Rangers fans quite blatantly overestimate the quality of their players and therefore their prices. Scoring week in week out against Kilmarnock is hardly an impressive feat. If Rickie went to Celtic he get 40 a season I reckon and then they'd probably value him at somewhere around the 10m mark (which, as much as I like him he clearly isn't worth) - ridiculous.

Dag and Red/Millwall away - what a crap draw.
-
Starting now. We are ball 12 I think
-
Exactly, the rule doesn't say - "contact - oh and also when the player hurdles the tackle" does it? Means that Foy makes a judgement on there being excessive malice - which in my opinion he calls incorrectly.
-
So Foy must have thought there was excessive malice considering there was no real contact with Nani?
-
Ah ok, fair enough.
-
Surely the taking of evasive action doesn't conclusively indicate a reckless tackle? There are plenty of times when players hurdle perfectly legitimate tackles. The fact Nani jumps the tackle is completely irrelevant.
-
Not surprising they've rejected - lets see if we go back with a larger offer. I'd like to think we will.
-
Just because the ref gave a red card doesn't mean we can't debate whether it was the correct decision or not. The tackle was not reckless, it was not using excessive force (in my opinion of course) - he gets the ball and the usually whinging Nani doesn't even react. Not a red card - when I first saw it I was surprised a foul had been given.
-
You aren't and I have, a few times.
-
Agreed.
-
Let's be honest - United to get the majority of decisions. As for Rooney, as an international player he should know to behave better. But Citeh can hardly have any complaints given Mancini did the same thing vs Liverpool the other day. Can't help but think that the refs do get influenced by the top clubs though Man U especially.
-
They might not have a choice though - they aren't exactly flush for cash.
-
No Hooper in the squad for Celtic - interesting.
-
Not sure I'd agree having seen the footage tbh. Can see why a red was given but I've seen a lot worse only get a yellow. El-Abd played it up.

The Derby playoff penalty shootout - that was unbearable. Knew we blown our chances of promotion to the Prem for a good while after that one! Would have loved to have seen that team in the Prem with the likes of Bale, Baird, Surman, Kenwyne etc. Think that team would have done well.
-
Couldn't agree more - I go to at least 10-15 games a season but can't justify a ST (had one in the past from 1997-2007) because of educational/uni commitments. My biggest worry for the rest of the season in terms of getting to games is losing out on a Pompey home ticket to a JCL just because they can get down to St Marys at 6am and I can't because I am out of the area. A membership scheme would prioritise fans who get along to games regularly but haven't bought an ST. Plus, it would provide extra income for the club at £30 a pop.

You can't read anything into it - other than Leicester made a bid. Doesn't mean we aren't interested/won't make a move now Leicester's bid is public. Even the Donny manager said he might wait for someone else to come in for him.
-
IF we want him - now we'll show our hand. Would not be surprised if we made a bid and at least got the chance to speak to him again. Also, if 'Doncaster would struggle to hold onto their man if a Championship side with genuine promotion credentials came in with a suitable offer.' They must not be worried about losing him to Leicester!
