Cant believe that attitude of many posters on here. Almost like they'd be happier if we lost. We're 5th in the league, you'd think we were bottom. 95th minute winner at a side who hadn't lost at home this season.. Give me that any day of the week. COYR!

I think it's takes 5 years off my lifespan everytime I watch Saints, but I'll never complain about a win, especially one away at Stoke in midweek. We should've had at least two more through Stueys header and Sulemana/Mara chances. Stoke threw alot at us and we stood firm, that's not something to turn your nose up at. Onto Rotherham at the weekend, let's make it 3 from 3 and get a feel good factor back.

Has Harwood-Bellis definitely had a medical, as reported yesterday? It's gone eerily quiet on that front.

I was hoping for at least one player in today, so I wouldn't be hitting refresh as much tomorrow! So it sounds like we'll get either Harwood-Bellis on loan or Nathan Wood on a permanent. Stewart or Duk/Miovski up top. Paintsil dead in the water and the only other winger were linked with is Zeqiri from Brighton as far as I can see. I still think Sulemana is likely to leave, along with ABK. If we can keep them and also KWP, I'll be very happy.

I reckon the Russell Martin compo fiasco has hindered deals with Swansea massively. In an ideal world I think we'd have taken Piroe and Wood.

If we go into the season with Adams and Armstrong I'd be happy. I was sceptical when we came down as they're not PL level, but look more than capable in the Championship. Personally I'd get rid of Mara and give Dom his place.

It's been reported that we didn't even send an offer for him. Maybe like others have said, our hands are tied with Che and Tall Paul still on the wage bill.

I can't imagine that Russell didn't want Piroe, why wouldn't you want the guy that scored 40 odd goals in two seasons for you. I can only think this is a Sport Republic choice not to go for him. Resell value etc. Sometimes you have to buy proven players and not think about their potential value in a couple of years.

Interesting that reports state we didn't even bid. I'm sure ITK Monk said he was our top target a couple of weeks ago, not sure what changed.

If we can tighten up at the back we'll win by a couple. If not, it'll be another silly scoreline. I haven't seen us win a league game at SMS since Villa in 2020, so if we don't win it's my fault.

I'll reserve judgement until after the window closes. There's been noises that we'll likely lose Adams, Tella, KWP, ABK and Sulemana for a few weeks now, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise. If players don't want to be here, I'm all for them leaving once we get the best possible price. Let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks and we can have a proper meltdown on 2nd September if the club drop the ball.

Incredible really, that his talent still shone through during Jones and Selles tenures. That takes some doing. I decided to take half a days holiday and go to the game last night, getting back home at just gone 2am. Great commitment from the 1800 fans that made the trip, which wasn't replicated on the pitch in any way shape or form. There were many players who should be shown the door at the earliest possible opportunity on show. I'd even go as far as paying up contracts or letting them leave on a free. Glad to hear that Russell made similar comments after, about players which think they're Premier League players, but lose convincingly against a league 2 side.

£27m guaranteed + £3m performance based add ons for JWP. I think it seems low as we've got more for Tino and will also for Lavia. I don't think it's realistically too far off his true value. Maybe a case to say £35m.

How's Russell got us playing like that in such a short space of time? Remarkable. Maybe we've gotten used to watching a disjointed team for so long that we've actually forgot that we're capable of playing. Very early days I know, but I didn't expect us to dominate pretty much from start to finish. Just need to create more clear cut chances for all of our possession.

I really like Tino, but you cant turn down £35m + £5m add ons. That's a brilliant bit of business. No guarantee he'll get back to the same level as he was at before his injury.
