  1. Nice one. I knew you can through the concourse for Northam/Itchen but wasn't sure if you could other end.
  2. Can you get through the concourse from the chapel to the itchen does anyone know.
  3. Thought it'd be interesting to see how many people plan on renewing their ST's next year. I suspect this season has broken many fans and we'll see quite a sharp drop from last season especially as prices will be higher than then. Although I reckon the matches against the skates might make some people's mind up. Personally I'll be renewing regardless. Mainly for away game reasons but also because next season will undoubtedly be much more enjoyable than this one. Am tempted to bin the Northam off though and move to the Chapel...
  4. One thing I have noticed in the last two seasons is how there seems to be much more younger fans (under 20) at away games than there seemed to be beforehand. This is the social media generation and it shows in how they constantly have their phones in their hand and that seems to be their priority more than anything else. It's also noticeable how many songs seem to have dropped off recently like nobody knows the words. Tried to get 'we are Southampton, the pride of the South' going at about 7 aways this year and not once had more than 10-15 people join in. Never hear 'we all follow Southampton' anymore either. Was good to hear the woolston ferry yesterday mind. Again only a fairly small amount of us singing it though.
  5. None of the players we'd want to keep will be staying mate. And certainly not because some people decided to applaud them when they were relegated.
  6. Some people have been sacked for this season haven't they? Kraft and Mowbray. Think things will turn nasty very quickly if he have a bad summer and poor start next season.
  7. Bit of both. The support has largely been excellent during what's been a horrifically bad season but the amount of people who applauded them yesterday was baffling.
  8. I didn't mind the gallows humour yesterday but the clapping at the end was just plain weird.
  9. Yeah I thought when I saw the other day about the asphalt plan that it doesn't particularly tie in with the clubs stated plans. As for the gas works aren't there flats going up there?

    Refunds

Yeah sorry I wasn't too clear re the Brighton thing. And of course it's a good money spinner but that's presumably true of all other clubs too? It'd be an even bigger one if they revoke a season ticket and keep it as match day only. Which is why I think it won't happen next season as we won't sell out the season tickets but it'll be on the cards if we go back up I reckon.

    Refunds

If we come back up I expect the club to limit that like others are starting to do. Must attend x amount of games or lose your right to renew. Obviously be no point next season as we'll be nowhere near selling out season tickets. Think Brighton even charge a fee for transferring a digital ticket for a game and limit that too.

    Refunds

Why would we get a refund?
  13. Nice opportunity for Liverpool to rest half their team. Means it probably won't be too much worse than last night score wise.
  14. I know it's only London but it's remarkable we're still selling out every away game in this horrific season. Actually dreading tonight if I'm honest. Half tempted to sack it off but I know I won't.
  15. I agree to an extent (especially recently) but even early in the season when we weren't already relegated and had good spells it was largely poor. There's people near me who've not sung once all season and spend large chunks of the game sat down or on their phone. The best it's been all season in my view was the second half of the Spurs game when we were five down and it was half empty which says it all. Said it before but there's a lot of atmosphere tourism going on in my view. People want to be in the singing area but not actually contribute to it. I've had mates of other clubs say they're seeing a similar thing so it's not just Saints.
  16. Saw a group of 4/5 young lads yesterday (all under 20) in the northam who spent 30 minutes of the first half sat on their seats playing games on their phones. Ridiculous. Plenty of people seem to use their seats regularly it's no wonder the atmosphere has been so terrible. Almost as if we don't have enough singers to fill an entire stand.
  17. Yep I'll go earlier if we're ever allowed to get the train again.
  18. Yeah seen that and the documentary before. Always assumed that's why we were held up.
  19. Meeting them in the play offs would be fun.
  20. Was on that train also. Was fuming at the time but wouldn't change it now seeing as we saw all what was worth seeing. Was quite a sight a few hundred lads jogging down Goldsmith Avenue shouting abuse at any skates hanging out their windows too.
  21. Without doubt the best away end I've been in. As a relative youngster it's probably the closest to the 80s I'll ever get. Very few goals I've celebrated as much too, the first and third in particular. As you say it'll likely be shite next year in comparison as the evening KO without the bubble meant loads didn't fancy it.
  22. I was talking in general rather than specifically this game for that short sighted part. I might be wrong but I don't see how there's a way to segregate fans within that area meaning we have to offer more to clubs than they're entitled to and/or have empty seats for teams with a smaller following.
  23. Well we gave lots of teams more than we had to last season but I take your point and you're probably right that for them lot they'll just be happy to have 1k empty seats in the away end. Police might even force it. Building the away end the way they have does seem rather short sighted though when an immediate return to the championship with different allocation rules was always likely. Sadly I suspect you're right re the bubble but they have been sacked off elsewhere in recent years including Blackburn and Burnley so there might be a slight chance. I doubt they'd fancy escorting the Skates through Hoglands though.
  24. I explained why in the next sentence - because the new away end has permanent looking walls surrounding it so it doesn't seem immediately obvious how you could give only 2k of it and have Saints fans in the rest.
  25. With their away win yesterday they're upto 18th and now 7 points clear of the relegation zone so the return of the derbies looking extremely likely next season. Do we think Hants finest will decide to implement the bubble again? I really hope not and they decide to trust the fans but I can't see it sadly. They don't seem as common elsewhere now though so may be a chance we can make our own way there. I wonder if we're going to give them more tickets than they're entitled to for their visit here. The structure of the new away end doesn't seem to have much flexibility in offering less than 3k.
