I can't see how Howe has the credentials for being offered the job in the first place. He has only been managing five minutes - I know he has had a good start but we are talking about the old 4th division here and it could very well be his pinnacle of achievement. He is too much of a risk for us at the moment and I don't think he would fit NC's criteria for a manager due to lack of experience.

Didn't go to the game so can't really comment on individual players, but from the commentary Saints just sound very unprofessional. No wins can be taken for granted but Saints appear to have shot themselves in the foot in this match against a very ordinary team who came looking for a draw.

Yeah - that makes so much sense. Then the lazy gits will be forced to work (or if they are at their wits end, they may turn to petty crime - and we will have 60,000 less police officers after the Condem cuts to catch them).

Extremely sad news - we were lucky that a genuinely good man decided to buy our club. He will always be a major part of this club's story. Many thanks for saving the club Marcus and condolences to all your friends and family. R.I.P.

Brilliant reply - everyone is apparently at it so don't bother having an opinion on it or doing anything about it.

Really enjoy reading these. Have you thought of contributing to this blog on behalf of us Saints fans? http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-league-blog/2010/aug/05/welcome-to-our-football-league-blog

Agreed - these rumours about Pardew and Cortese don't sound credible. The fact no-one has put their name to them make me believe them even less. Some people certainly seem to have an agenda. Wish they would p*ss off.

Not 'Terms Strictly S.K.A.T.E'?

I was going to say the same thing. I just can't picture Saints having storming start to the season - we never ever do.

I looked at their squad yesterday and thought "meh". I'll probably regret this comment but on paper some of the Owl's names stand out, but looking at their individual recent history most are way past their best and signing for a league one club is about the best they can expect. They players already at the club are hardly worth shouting about as they were very low on confidence and utter shyte last season. If the team continues to struggle scoring (I'm not convinced about the striking freebees thay have picked up to address this problem) and an injury / loss of form for Purse and they will struggle.

He will love it if England don't go through because of that goal.

Apparently there will be a fair few empty seats at the game. Tickets being sold outside the ground for face value or below. What is it with this world cup and the empty seats?
-
Evade / avoid - it still stinks.

The problem is that in real life many (most?) extremely rich people evade the tax that they should pay - they've been doing it for a long, long time.

Bit of a brass neck; Cameron has lived his entire life on another planet from the rest of us plebs.

I really don't think HMRC will challenge - I have no faith in them. "Whether HMRC mounts a legal challenge remains to be seen, though it is thought to be unlikely" http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jun/17/portsmouth-creditors-accept-deal

I quite like it, especially the saints font. But it's really not that important.

She probably didn't have a clue where she was though. Dotty old bat.

Who remembers Trios?

Agreed. Good luck Duncan.

Whereas I am more than happy to pay tax.

I wonder who the guy in the hat was?

oh bugger.

But Tescos credit card gives you 0% interest for 12 months on all purchases - so you can pay it off within one year without paying a penny interest. Pretty good if you can pay it back in one year: http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/finance/creditcards/index.jsp
