Nice new videos on Mick channon's website

Wow! These are great. What a team we had. -
Was just checking out Burnley's website and spotted this about our skatey friends' spending so far this year - probably already posted on this thread, but can't be arsed to look - (I like the Claret's comments): http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=104&fid=297&sty=2&act=1&mid=2116720262

I read on an Ipswich forum that their form since Jewell took over would of seen them third. Can't find the link now, but this article supports the point. Ipswich will be top 4 imo. They just needed a consistent goalscorer which they now have. http://www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-town/the_axe_was_wielded_too_late_at_town_1_854396

I think barney will surprise a few this season. He was an absolute bargain.
-
Don't like this one as it makes Saints sound ****e ("...signed for Saints but it could be worse?")
-
Once you all have season tickets I'm sure the club would allow you all to move to where there are 3 seats together (within your price bracket)?
-
Out of interest anyone know how they have financed their stadium? Wiki says that it cost over £100m to build (wow!) St Mary's *only* cost £32m and this debt became a millstone round our necks as soon as we were relegated.
-
Just looking at their retained list - they had 7 players on loan last season! That is mental - surely there should be a lower limit on loanees. IMO loans should only be allowed in an emergency (e.g. to cover a key player for a short term through injury) or if it is with a view to a permanent deal. Anyone know how many loanees portsmouth had last season? http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~2365162,00.html

And ManUre's other great chants such as: "You can stick your f*ckin England up your arse" "Let's All Laugh At England" "We hate England" Etc Well done Barca - you did the football world a favour!

Another very good one in Southampton is Sanjha. Most of the curry houses I have tried (mainly in London) are Bengali / Bangladeshi but Sanjha in Shirley was the first Punjabi I tried - the dishes are fantastic. Deliveries only though .
-
One of the very best: The Himalaya in Stratford, London - if you go, thank me later.
-
How did he "build on" Jones' team - who did he buy for example?
-
For me: Best 1. Ball - team was fit to go down when he took over, turned it around and understood what we had in Le Tiss 2. Strachan - great times and our team was so hard to beat under him and he signed M Svensson and Niemi 3. Jones - kept us up on a Lowe budget with Le Tiss past his best years, signed Beattie, Pahars, Kev Davies and Marsden for peanuts and laid foundations for Hoddle and Strachan 4. Adkins - first promotion I've ever witnessed!! 5. Hoddle - played some great footy Worst Branfoot
-
Agree with that - a really good captains performance especially in the second half of that match - had that "never say die" attitude.
-
Funking brilliant!! Honestly thought we had blown it after the Tranmere game so to clinch 2nd is fantastic. Massive credit to Adkins who had the balls to drop down a division to manage us and gain his third promotion out of League One at a canter.
-
Too many slip-ups to be considered a serious contender for automatic promotion (which embarrasing when you think of how much money we have spent compared to other teams). Should make play-offs though.
-
Why is Alpine getting so much abuse on this thread? As far as I can see he has only just joined in and it's totally unwarranted from the posts he has made so far.

A point away from home is usually not too bad, but the performance didn't sound good again and we really needed those three points after all the slip-ups we have had this season. Saints seemed to hit a peak in performance at Oldham but since then they have been pretty shabby. No excuse for that really. -
Do you really think they will get rid of season tickets?! Just think about it for a minute ffs.
-
For once I agree with Alpine. Poor show from a side who think they can win the title to lose a 2-goal lead away from home twice in one game. I personally have lowered my ambitions for this season to play-offs - no point in getting my hopes up as this side is too inconsistent and my poor old heart can't take it.
-
If we can't beat Exeter then we don't deserve promotion.
-
Damn and blast!
-
Thanks - he comes across as a good bloke. Think they have a good manager there.
-
How can he be "a below mediocre L1 manager" when he manages a team 15th in the Championship? Look at this from Adkin's point of view. This is a step down for him. He has already been promoted twice out of this L1 and could easily move to an established Championship team and make a push for managing in the Premiership. Moving to Saints is a big risk for him if it doesn't work out.
