Our Future? Stadium Expansion Proposal on Season Ticket DVD
Elmore replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Nah. It really does make him look thick, and you of course. -
No surprise there. They have no class as shown throughout last season. One of their 6 foot plus knuckle head fans had a go at my dad outside the ground after we beat them and then he ran away! Plus they still don't play football, no matter what their ridiculous fans think.
-
Plus we let in another 2 goals. It seems we have to score at least 2 goals to get anything out of a game these days as we let at least 2 in every single match. That is untenable.
-
I'm usually pretty positive, but that just seemed a really poor performance. There was virtually nothing to get the crowd excited. Puncheon and Lambert should have stayed on the pitch imo. Hooiveld looks like a different player to last season - if this is how he played in SPL, I can see why Celtic were not bothered to see him go. Massive blow losing Clyne and Ramirez before the match as well as Richardson on the 8th minute., but we should still of had enough to see out the game and beat Fulham at home. Pretty disappointed as that was a great chance to grab 3 points.

When we started this season, what exactly were you expecting?
Elmore replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
True. I was expecting: Manc C: 0 points Wigan: 3 points Man U: 0 Points Arse: 0 points Villa: 1 point Toffees: 0 points So we have one point less than I expected, but have played some great football. My only concern at the moment is the amount of goals we are letting in. We are being punished for every single mistake we make. So we need to cut out the mistakes and also get a bit of luck go our way (i.e. other teams make a mistake and we capitalise or other teams messing up one of their chances). -
I don't want them liquidated, I simply want them to never win a football match ever again. Not too much to hope for is it?

This is exactly how McDermott got Reading playing away from home last season - they parked the bus and were overrun against numerous sides (ourselves, Brighton away, West Ham away, Leeds away, Middlesbrough away, Millwall away etc) but they sucked up the pressure and beat us by taking the chances they got. They rode their luck, but I can't see that tactic working in the Prem. Still - we have our own problems to worry about.
-
We didn't deserve that spanking. Sometimes football punches you in the balls. I know others will disagree but I think today was a mixture of a some bad luck (two own goals and what looked like an injury to Jos inside 30 minutes) and being outclassed by a better side.
-
Two own goals in one match and a 1st half injury to our centre-back. The most annoying goal imo is the one which beat Kelvin at his near-post. That is the second one of those he has let in in 4 matches - that is pretty poor and he doesn't usually get beat there.

Great news.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but those writing off Rodriguez now will look like such ****s in the future.

"Now he is here..." Lol - you are so funny Alps. You've dug yourself a right hole.

Really, who gives a flying one about sky?

So you don't remember when we got David Prutton AND Danny Higginbotham on the same day?!! They were crazy days my friend.

Sure its already been mentioned but this tune would be a good'un for his song

Such imaginations from some of you. Like a good wine, Rickie is getting better with age and I'm sure he will be with us for a few more seasons yet. In a few seasons time he will be playing less games and we will have a bunch of young strikers taking more responsibility.

I think Rickie will see out the rest of his career with Saints. He was the first Liebherr era signing and has been a great signing at that. Our talisman through two promotions and a cup final.
-
I blame Mark Lawrenson.

If we want to stay up, this would have to be one of those "must win" games. But just looking at the Wigan results last year - especially away from home in the second half of the season - they had some excellent results and of the ones they lost there was usually only one goal in it. They do concede goals, but not many, despite their 3-man defence.
-
Can someone take the time to explain what the current situation with the Skate ownership? Who is funding their player loans and wages and running costs etc? Is the only offer to buy the club from the supporters and is this offer still reliant on a loan from the council? When is the next liquidation deadline? Cheers

Lack of "real"information re transfers from club!

60 plus pages but probably half of the posts come from about 15 people. You will find out when you find out.
