Here's a (longish) interesting article on the matter. Estimates only round 5% of Tottenham's support is Jewish. -
Saw this linked elsewhere but worth a few minutes viewing after about 10:00

Why don't Saints attack the Northam in the second half ?
alehouseboys replied to Kingsland Red's topic in The Saints
Maybe they felt score early, game over, so attacking their fans from the off may have seen the game put to bed by halftime. That worked well -
I remember the links but don't know if anything more than just because he was a £30-billionaire geezer who was living fairly nearby in Beaulieu? He's been in the news in recent days as moving from Chelsea to Monaco to save around £4bn in tax! From Lancs originally.

He looked a world-beater in those 2 games, shows what the player is capable of but I guess his injury record/inconsistency may prevent him ever reaching his true potential. Hopefully get a few games out of him and Ings before the end of the season.

I'd agree, we've had national coverage in their adds and tbh, they're probably entitled to feel a little hard done by with Saints form over their sponsorship period. When they 'signed up' it was with a club on the up, getting excellent positive coverage and the prospect of their logo going around Europe on our shirts. From the day they arrived (other than Wembley) it's been all down hill and a shocking product on view.

I wouldn't have thought it was particularly dumb for the company. Probably came out of Virgin's advertising budget, would have been seen as a goodwill gesture by many and, no doubt, gone down well with those that took advantage of it. SFC still effectively sold away tickets (probably more as they were cheap for visiting fans, so the club are happy) for £30, the £10 reduction was covered by Virgin outside of money they were putting into the club. They also subsidised a 2 or 3 away games for Saints fans (although SFC f**ked up by usually taking reduced allocation), anything Virgin has done hasn't been detrimental to SFC than maybe getting away fans a bit more excited with cheap tickets.

My money's on a far east betting company, best be a lucrative one https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/17475320.southampton-football-clubs-accounts-for-the-year-ending-june-2018-are-released/

This. Away fans rule at SMS. Ain't that the truth. Take out the sets, pews would be far more appropriate for 'The Chapel'. When we first moved into St Mary's the Chapel was touted as the big new 'Home End' but it never happened but attacking that end second half does have an advantage in the summer months as the low sun is a problem for keepers early down the Northam. Just routine now but maybe they should change that routine, it couldn't get much worse than recent times. -
Unfortunately, different words (and, as usual, includes the ****s down the road) but not exactly original, City were doing it (better) years ago [video=youtube;i-tagn3lB3I] But it's got 2 different verses, it'll never catch on with our lot but at least it's not OWTSzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz for change.
-
"apparently" by who? You're getting worse. Most see this as a game we probably need to win, probably our most winnable game remaining, and against a relegation rival. Apparently.
-
Well, it matters to a lot of us, although I guess not enough. Maybe there's a different attitude between internet fans and the ones that actually go to games. I'm near 60 and had my best days supporting this club outside of the top league so relegation doesn't worry me at all from a football point of view, but I can see a potential financial sh*tstorm and possible repeat of what happened the last time we dropped down. Most agree we really need to be winning this tomorrow night or it's looking grim, tomorrow night is about my football club, not Kat or Gao, we'll have to agree to disagree.
-
Still plenty of tickets left, Fulham bringing around 1,500. How this massive game hasn't sold out f*ck knows? Gripes aside, this game needed the fans to show it mattered to them.

Attention craving weirdos.

Unfortunately I can't see them being that naive. They'll be well aware of our frailties and know if they keep it tight opportunities will come, which they'll likely take. It's probably last chance saloon for them but with recent results (particularly at home) and upcoming fixtures, there'll also realise all the pressure is on us. Cardiff was certainly a 'must not lose' game, which of course...., but if ever there was a 'must win' game, then this is it. If you consider yourself a fan of SFC (I'm not talking about the usual gobsh*tes that can be found on every home and away match thread that are never likely to ever go) then get there, do your bit and make a racket like you want us to turn this around.
-
TBF, just about everyone of those posts sounds like it's been written by some 15 year old overseas fan who really hasn't got much of a clue, even about 'their' own club. I'll take a plucky draw.
-
As it stands we'll be lucky to get anywhere near 30,000 for this, hopefully last night's results and a decent show on Sunday will reignite a bit of belief and we'll have a late rush. Favourite memory of a home game with Fulham, mid 70s in the second division, full house, won 4-1. They had George Best, Rodney Marsh and Bobby Moore with Besty being sent off and adding to the drama. Time for the team and fans to step up.

I had a look a few days ago on the OS ticket site and just had a look again now and there doesn't appear to have been a surge in ticket sales. Either some haven't heard of this deal or many are waiting to see how we perform at Arsenal. Apathy really has set in.
-
He's an Arsenal fan, he's worried..... A bit of weight building on his young shoulders already but we ain't got a lot of options. Unfortunately we can't rely on Ings through injuries, I'd agree with going with Redmond up top and bolster midfield for this.
-
Good to see the club reacting to the situation and trying to get the fans back onboard. At these prices it 'should' sell out easily, can't remember if they've ever given us Block 44 for league games if Fulham send that back too, but could potentially we could have a big home crowd in the Northam for a change. The support was the usual let down in the last massive game with the Taffs, hopefully everyone will wake up soon before it's too late.
-
I agree, the last 2 or 3 years has drained the life out of the most passionate of fans but, tbh, it was pretty sh*t most of the time under Poch and Koeman too. Ralph's come in and shown immediate 'passion' for the job, it's 'our' club, it requires a similar immediate effect with the fans.

https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019-02-09/ralph-hasenhuttl-pre-southampton-cardiff-city-passion-premier-league-1819 I think we've all loved RH's frank straightforward talking since he's arrived with regards players and I think he won't be shy in letting the fans know if the 'support' doesn't measure up and improve over the next few weeks. The bench get the away support in their face and at full volume at St Mary's every home game, it must be frustrating when most of ours just sit passively by. They know they've got a big hyped up visiting support coming today and we really need everyone there getting involved. Big important game, you don't have to sing, just make some/any ******* noise!
