Confirmed £15 (adults) but paltry allocation of less than 2,000. Thought it was 10% for League Cup games (25k capacity), maybe we can get more? https://www.southamptonfc.com/matches/2019-20/efl-cup/fulham-v-saints-2019-08-27/ticket-info QPR's game also confirmed as on Wednesday.

They will be but how many will be rested anyway? Can't see them particularly fearing Chelsea or even putting too much emphasis on this fixture. They'll probably see it as a bit of warm-weather training. Need to see an improvement Saturday and then move on.

What's not to like? Great draw, great away day (better than a soulless affair in a half-filled SMS), or in this case, easy midweek trip. Just up the road, we can take a lot of fans and it will be a competitive match. Is Harrison Reed cup-tied? Take it seriously Saints and then QPR away in the next round.

Ah, the ol' 1-3 from League One away games, 'appy days. I share your optimism.

Temporary structure, easily removed when the big redevelopment takes place

As it should be over here too for ST holders for 'friendlies', the money generated is nothing for PL clubs but the players would benefit from fuller stands and slightly improved atmosphere.

Couple of thousand sold, couple of hundred left, will sell out early. Pre-season optimism but good feeling about coming season for a lot of us.

Just read this through a link on the UI, good little insight and worth a few minutes reading https://theterracestore.com/blogs/news/the-ballboy-on-the-terrace

Great PR stunt, got them great exposure all ready!

Just read a report on the UI about the fan forum at Staplewood yesterday, if you believe the club are now being more open and honest then this snippet might nark the haters "Ownership; Gao (like mentioned in previous articles) is in it for long term and fully invested. Wants to also improve local area" https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/forum/243778/behind-closed-doors-fans-forum/#3

But if VVD was being sold today Maguire would still be half of what the scallies would be demanding.

Charlie Austin - Sold to West Brom - 4M
alehouseboys replied to Give it to Ron's topic in The Saints
I understand and agree with your point, it's really about how much Charlie Austin wants to actually play regular football. -

Gotta weigh it up ain't he, make a move now while there's still a slight demand and set himself up with a 2-3 year contract (probably his last) or see out the final year of his contract on his current big salary. Bit of a gamble, if he decides to stick around he'll get little game time and in another fairly inactive year his age and fitness levels will have deteriorated even further. He may have nowhere to go. -
Tbf, if I had one I’d be a bragging **** too.......

Good on him (just for his principles). For the record, I don't want the skate **** either.

https://www.southamptonfc.com/matches/2019-20/pre-season/scr-altach-v-saints-2019-07-14/ticket-info £18 a bit steep for a practice match - one for the die-hards

See, that was appropriate, he was a Southampton lad, a Saints fan but he chose to go down there. He was a 'scummer' to them and even more so to us for being a traitor. Thing is Saints fans started the initial 'scum' thing after a testimonial down there for John Milkens. The bitterness was bubbling up after we took over in the 60s and hooliganism was really kicking in. Plenty of Saints fans went to the game, many in their fratton end celebrating as each goal went in in a 7-0 thrashing. This was the tipping point when it all went sour and a number of Saints fans got blind-sided and took a kicking. That's when the 'scum' bit came about, some started refering to them as 'scum-pey' instead of 'pom'. But, tbh, we quickly moved on as our paths went in different directions, as they sunk lower the bitterness went into overdrive and they adopted/adpated it to 'scummers', and the rule was to never utter the word 'Southampton' again, they use to turn into dribbling wrecks at the mere mention

Tommy Widdrington's assault on some Port Vale player away in the cup early 80s. Any number of the Alehouse Brawlers...

Plastic Red 'scouse not English' = Irish/Scandinavian/North Welsh/Asian/etc. Poor ol' victimised Virgil, time to light some candles.
-
Roughly translated into English: Virgil van Dijk, PFA Player of the Year, 2-faced ex-Southampton footballer, European champion, dubious act on and off the field, adulterer, happy to go on strike after taking a lucrative contract extension, half-hearted displays for the club paying his massive wages, sneak, playing for the opposition so, as expected, being booed by England fans.

People who rush to get behind reporters at outside broadcasts and then act as if they're totally unaware they're in shot of the TV cameras.

This is a good read and gives an insight into his character

Charlie Austin - Sold to West Brom - 4M
alehouseboys replied to Give it to Ron's topic in The Saints
Looks like he's a Chelsea fan then. For that reason probably 'hates' spurs so stuck on a scouse shirt for a wind-up, knowing it would also get bites from the soppy ****s who used to sing his name and then regularly slagged him off when they didn't rate him anymore. He's off, get over it, move on.
