It's the land that time forgot. Every time I have the misfortune to go down there it just confirms every feeling I had when I was younger. But each to their own.
-
Good one - I'll bung in Gary Hooper.
-
You can understand them being concerned about away fans infiltrating the home areas after 'Coombsey's Commandos' assault on their Kop 40-something years ago! We definitely took the full allocation and will probably all be gone by the weekend. Good turn-out.

One thing's for sure, "Sha-la-la" is gonna be ringing round the sh*thole come full time, let's hope it's us ramming it back down their throats again. At least it might give us a chance to hear something different from the usual constant and droney OWTS, hardly suitable for a 'passionate' derby. How about throwing something else back in their faces? When we start scoring, for one night only, we should embrace the "scummer" - nice and easy (to Amazing Grace) but loud and punchy "scummer, scummer, scummer, scummer.........". Kind of own it.

The only bugger is, the OB believe they have got it right when they successfully delay our trains and get us there late.
-
Yeah, those plans. Finally leaves Southampton Central at 7:15pm, Signal failure at Swanwick around 7:30pm, 30min delay, something on the track at Porchester, 10min delay, arrive at fratton around 8:45pm. Return journey leaves approx. 12:30am.

It will be more a case of a corral now rather than a bubble. If you go by train don't expect to get in much before halftime. The OB have their work cut out policing the trains, motorways and streets around the ground. A proper derby!

Sounds like it will be full of toothless skate farmers, doesn't TCWTB slurp in there?
-
They should have sent her into the crowd when the morons were booing her boy.

TBF, when I saw who was on the whistle and VAR last week at Brighton I thought we were in trouble but....
-
Probably time for one of these If you were there with us that day you'll know what it means.
-
10% in EFL these days, we 'should' get around 1900 but that would mean segregating the away end which I can't really see happening for this fixture. So I reckon we'll either get all of it or nothing. A 'bubble' mid-week will be near on impossible with too many road restrictions needing to be set up throughout a working day so I can seriously see the OB suggesting no tickets sold to away fans which their club would jump on. Whatever, don't f*ck this up Saints, Ralph's legend status could be confirmed.

QPR would be nice.
-
Their pace up top will be a challenge. But they're beatable and we're overdue a victory over them down here, particularly after fluffing our lines in December last year.
-
We had a spell of playing Bertrand left side of a 3 with Targett in front of him that worked well under Koeman, interesting to see how it would work with Bertrand/Djenepo.

Fantastic save...but his mistake that brought it about. [video=youtube;cSHFz-T6Q0A] Sums him up quite well, decent keeper in there but always a mistake not far away, vulnerable getting down, beaten too often at his near post and at 6'6" should be commanding his area more effectively. In all our interests he does well up there, could be the perfect league and situation to get his career back on track.

I believe Ratcliffe is an exiled manc and supports United. Seems just because he's very rich and now lives within 20 miles of St Mary's that he ever got linked to buying us, in reality, very likely he was never interested. What is interesting when these old threads suddenly get pulled up is all the posters that used to be on here all the time but now only rarely or never post any more. It's a very slow board compared to a few years back.

It's a joke that 'centre' Kingsland seats stretch almost to the goal line and at £65 a pop - to sit in the corner £50. Are they really trying that hard to entice fans to come back and ditch watching for free at home?

Looks like the Daily Echo take leads off Saintsweb now https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?61213-Mmmmmmm#.XV10AOhKjIU news breaks on here at 1.40pm, Echo pops up with the report an hour or 2 later.

It was something to build on, a point at least at Brighton would be handy looking at the next couple of fixtures after.
-
He's a scouser, probably there to watch his team.
-
A few ex-Saints likely on show tomorrow, obviously VVD and Mane, but Lallana tipped to start, Ox and even Lovren may get a look in if Klippity decides to rest some of his weary soldiers. Don't concede early* and look to take advantage as the game grinds on. (*this bit could be the spanner)

Looks like they only give away fans blocks P5 and P6 this season for league games, maybe different for this cup. https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2019/august/07/riverside-stand-update "We will be providing regular updates on the works during the season however, during this time, the overall capacity at Craven Cottage is reduced to three stands being in operation and away areas now limited to Blocks P5 & P6 within the Putney End. Supporters are reminded that whilst three sides of the ground will be in operation during the Riverside Stand works, the Putney End will have dedicated blocks for home and away supporters. There is no longer a mixed/neutral section within the Putney End seating blocks. Whilst the Putney End concourse area will be mixed, blocks P1, P2, P3 & P4 are designated home seating areas only. P5 & P6 is the designated away area. There will be an appropriate security presence in the Putney End for each game to manage Home and Away Fans sharing facilities in the concourse area. This will be based upon consultation between the club, police and relevant local authorities."

Ah right, they're finally going ahead with the new stand then. Hopefully they'll hold off selling the Putney End to home fans until we've had enough, can see this being very popular particularly with kids still off school and only a fiver. Thought they may have been forcing our fans to buy in the neutral area and hike the prices, if they've cut capacity and being in the Championship I guess it's no longer needed.
