Very much. Call me a **** but I liked 'Two Doors Down', WILTY is always good, and most recently, 'Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing' has provided chuckles.

1,500 for Chelsea was ridiculous, as JRM says we took 3,000 (which sold out quickly) up to the midlands a few days before, Chelsea sold out even quicker, we still had time to take n sell the full allocation. I know transport is an issue on Boxing Day, but we've taken 3,000 to the capital on Dec 26 before (no problem for Brighton up at Spurs), SFC are more interested in making it sweet for away fans at St Mary's than their own travelling fans.

Great recognition for his selfless efforts, well deserved. Cheers Franny. "He's one of our own"

Same with Chelsea, one of our closest games and the club take the smallest allocation - support looked pathetic on TV, tickets sold out weeks before.

Maybe this is the unfortunate truth. If he had the right personnel I believe we'd now be watching some of the most enjoyable football we'd have seen for years. His limitations may have been laid bare with some of the dross currently ensconced in this football club that don't have the ability to adapt. I think a poor Christmas could see the end of Ralph and he will then probably choose his next post very carefully knowing he'd have the basis to implement his ideas, and I'll stick a tenner on him being a success with his next club.

Nutshell.

You can enjoy all the fun today for just £45 in the corners/behind the goal, £55 just round the corner and a very generous £70 for centre seats. Plus the booking fee. Or you could stay at home at watch for nothing.

Newcastle have just given away 10,000 free half-season tickets this week. I'd think we'd struggle to shift many even for zilch, let alone around the £300 SFC are asking. Plus the booking fee, of course.

FFS, is it really only a couple of days away? I can't vote Tory, I certainly can't vote for Corbyn's mob, the rest are pointless. Maybe I'll just stay in...

Another manager's scalp up for grabs, lose to us and that will probably be curtains for Pellegrini. But I fear he'll still be employed by the dildo bros. after the weekend.
-
If he continues this form for the rest of the season I think we'll struggle to keep hold of him whether we go down or not. People pay good money for goalscorers, there'd be no shortage of takers, particularly if we go down and I fear SFC would drop their drawers a bit too eagerly. He's already drawing attention, Geordie forum yesterday "If we could afford it I'd say go for Danny Ings. No point him going down with Saints"

Despite the 3,000 allocation previously being 'sold out' the club have suddenly found a few more tickets (staff returns?) for Villa. The club have only taken 1,500 for Chelsea again and looks like we'll have similar for Sunday's televised game up at Newcastle.

I think that's exactly what will happen (but probably p*ss off a few who've liked to have a nap down there over the years). Fans get their 'Kop' (that's really always been there anyway) with the added bonus of removing some of our more face-painted weirdo fans who like to engage with the 'aways' alongside which for them will at least take away the certainty of knowing they're weirdos and leaving it to the imagination that they might not be quite so weird being out of sight down the other end of the stadium.

May have to make it a 'kid-for-a-quid' match. £2 for adults.

I believe life before doesn't exist once you sign for Liverpool, it's that football club that 'made' these players, I find their 'fans' insist upon this. The fact that they were willing to pay over £100m for these two unknowns just proves they recognise raw talent like nobody else.

100% Mush. Thank f'k for Danny Ings.

When your game gets a female commentator, obviously commentating in a room somewhere a long way from Southampton, you know you're reaching the basement.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
alehouseboys replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
We'd like to think we'd all jump in in similar circumstances but until it happens... It must be a surreal moment, some will just go in to shock, others will naturally turn and run from danger. In this situation, people were stopped in cars nearby, most would have been totally unaware of what's just gone on, it may have looked like an innocent man being attacked by 3 others. The filming could have been done by kids. Hopefully this will inspire others to act similarly when the next terrorist attack inevitably happens if it will save more lives, but next time it could be a real explosives vest. -
I agree with LeG, his aftermatch interview (on MOTD) highlighted his frustration. We all scratch our heads at some of his selections but you can only assume these players are doing it convincingly on the training pitch when trying to find solutions to our frailties. And then, particularly at home, those same players let him down. Playing at home should be a massive advantage to sides through familiarity and having 90% of the crowd backing them. It's not like that down here, most weeks it's a walk in the park for the opposition. Away fans make the most noise, yesterday when we really needed a vociferous crowd driving us forward, most of the ground was comatose, completely dead south of the halfway line (...until the last 10 mins). The players gain no advantage or drive from the home fans, any boos any generally louder than support.

...by a few posters on a messageboard who (by their ever-presence on matchday threads) never actually go to a game. JWP, from what I hear, is a nice fella and a decent player but has limitations and should have been benched after a number of weak performances. We/he suffer from too many like-minded slow/sidewards players around him. He's a pro, hopefully he doesn't take too much from a bit of mock 'hate' from a few on a messageboard.
