Tbf, the atmosphere would improve 10-fold if they did.

Itchen sold out again - so how many empty seats will there be in the first few rows as usual? Looks like going in the Chapel is just a step too far for many of our fans - but if you like a 90 minute snooze.......

You're right, their chairman did post on there, I remember that from when we went there in the Championship on a Bank Holiday Monday. We'd quickly sold out the 6,000 or so tickets and he wanted to give us another 3,000 to entirely fill the stand but the Met wouldn't allow them and made them leave the seats empty. But I think many of their fans were happy to see us get them as their ground was only ever half-full back then so could see the benefits of the extra revenue. Don't know if this link will work, at best you'll read only 3 pages before it locks you out without signing up for membership https://www.cpfc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=231857&page=13 -
Surprised no one’s mentioned Highbury 1984.........Bailey used to get it tho.

Spoilt for choice, drink anywhere in central London and pick up the Central Line to Stratford. Jubilee Line direct from London Bridge - Liverpool Street is an option, Central Line again.

Nice comment but how did we only have 1,375 fans there? We had an allocation of just over 1,700 that quickly sold out leaving many fans complaining as they missed out. Did we really have 400 no-shows and loads of empty seats in the away section last night? -
And a topflight Spanish team.
-
I'm sure there's been one occasion (maybe when we were on Sky?) we didn't sell out and I can't believe it was anything less than the full allocation. And at £50+ I wouldn't blame any fan for giving it a swerve.
-
I think we're still getting punished because we once didn't sell out a full allocation at Chelsea a few years ago when away fans were getting ripped off and tickets up there cost well over £50. Taking just 1,200 for Leicester on a Saturday and also a smaller allocation for Palace is ridiculous. Palace allocation is 1,756 (out of an entitled 2,500).
-
They should have just given Spurs their entitled 15% (around 4,800), extracted the seats required for segregation (as I believe you can do with away allocations - so 4,500) and then just put tickets on sale at £10 to everyone (ST holders/members first crack) and they'd have been turning them away.
-
If we had given Spurs 4,500 that would have left us less than 28,000 to sell to home fans, most of that would have been snapped up at a tenner a pop by season ticket holders, the rest would have easily gone to members and others. F*ked over by our own club.

Time for the Chapel to become a proper home end

Unfortunately it's already mostly full with regular ST holders who prefer a quiet afternoon at the football. -
OWTS will be ringing around St Mary's....unfortunately....

If he was 2 or 3 years younger I'd be concerned if he got a call-up for the inevitable tapping-up from top clubs (and the possibility of injury with a different training regime) but hope he gets the nod in spring as that means he's continued his goal scoring form. But it would be good to see him capped while at Southampton, he deserves it, and then hopefully add interest for the Euros - as long as he also continues to steer clear of injuries!

So when you wrote this in the 'Jimmy Shields RIP' thread, was it just a typo? "George did pass away in December. I know the family. Incidentally The Echo rag article is littered with inaccuracies"

£15m bid going in then....

Leicester will win the away leg 0-9.

This issue probably deserves its own thread, it’s certainly p*ssed a few off recently. It’s baffling why the club are suddenly taking the smallest allocations possible for away games since and including Chelsea away on Boxing Day. The 3 games prior saw maximum (3,000) allocations sold out for Arsenal and Villa and, I believe, around 1,500 for our furthest trip north to Newcastle on a Sunday in December, so not the worst turn-out. So why did we take just 1,500 for Chelsea, one of our closest games? Transport can be an issue on Boxing Day but that didn’t stop other clubs’ fans getting to games or us in the past. A few years back the club got their fingers burnt a little on a full allocation there that didn’t sell-out but this was when a ticket set you back well in excess of £50 with the booking fee. Then we hear we’ve only taken 1,200 out of an entitled full allocation of 2,500 for Palace, 1,200 for a Saturday match in Leicester when we could have up to 3,000 and around 1,800 for Liverpool (3,000 allocation). All these 4 fixtures sold out weeks before the fixtures. Wolves away was another f’k up. It would appear SFC are just not interested in selling tickets for other clubs, they make nothing from our fans going to other grounds and is probably just seen as an inconvenience having to arrange getting them sold. Do they think if we’re not buying away tickets then we’re more likely to spend our hard-earned on home games? Wrong imo. I’m aware you get so many away tickets on a sale-or-return basis and then any further allocation you pay for up front and lose out if unsold. What would be interesting to know is how many each club provide sale-or-return and then timescale in which to request more tickets. We could have sold loads more for these games given the time they initially sold out. Surely the team and manager want as many fans travelling as possible, we must have too many inflexible business people making all the decisions who have no football background. Certainly makes us look small-time.

Still the best atmosphere created in there for many a year.......... -
The club don't make money selling somebody else's tickets, they just see it as an inconvenience. They probably think if you can't buy away tickets then you'll more likely buy them for St Mary's and so benefit the club financially. Wrong, they're just p*ssing fans off more and more and making us look real small-time with these pathetic away followings.

Back on topic........I'm OK with Gavin and Stacey, probably done for good now though.
