Charlie Austin - Sold to West Brom - 4M
alehouseboys replied to Give it to Ron's topic in The Saints
We can't have a pop at him for speaking the truth. He's a gobby **** but he's only saying what many players and managers have probably wanted to say for many years, our fans are mostly subdued even in the good times. -
Yep, never been sung by us. Only time it was ever heard at the Dell was when Chelsea were in town.
-
Good compromise.

Just watching the re-run of MOTD, Everton just been on, traditional ground, great atmosphere in the past, dead as a Dodo. They had a corner in the last couple of minutes, you could have heard a pin drop, they scored, maybe silence is the way to go. God help them once they move into their new stadium and the novelty wears off. It's not the stadiums, it's the fans in them.
-
And 3 good away trips. And if you were lucky to get a ticket, anew ground to visit in West London next season.
-
I'd concur with most of that except "Layered stands versus giant wall type stand" - down the sides I'd agree, but behind the goals it should always be a single bank imo. And I'd add 'acoustics', the noise doesn't carry well around St Mary's. Having said that, Spurs, and few other recent new builds, have invested heavily in the effect of acoustics but these places are still morgues. I think we just have to accept that England now has some of the most reserved and least fanatic support going to football these days, it's all too nice.

Ings tripped at Liverpool, no penalty. Son takes a dive at Tottenham, penalty. Game changing by the 'experts'. We were excellent until just after Ings buried that, conceded too soon and then we tired. ET may not have been kind to us.
-
Well he club happily filmed these couple of ****s, they should have followed them back and taken their seat numbers. They could have then traced it back to the buyers and then banned them from purchasing future tickets. Rules are rules...when it suits.

More promising than that link!
-
Sounds promising

As we're probably run by the Chinese Government they have more pressing needs for their funds right now.
-
Wherever you put his abilities as a PL player, I'd say he's been reasonable overall, he's been a great servant to the club and by all accounts a real nice and honourable fella. Gets my thanks, respect and best wishes for the future.
-
"Put them back in their place" said the Liverpool die-hard from Hounslow.
-
Yep, more to him than some would give him credit for on here. Although...."No one is doing nothing"
-
I've seen nothing mentioned for us but Newcastle have just loaned Danny Rose until the end of season at £2m. Wouldn't expect it to be anything like that.
-
Lovren?
-
Ah, I see - we should get a share of around £1.5m overall.
-
I believe we get a share of total gate receipts (of 60,000) in the cup rather than just what we sell.
-
Just looked and showing around 15 seats available, maybe non-take up of staff tickets. 2,600 for Norwich away.
-
Most likely Saints have said what we got was enough and Spurs probably already selling the remainder to their fans. Even if the option was still open I can see no way our lot would take any more as they’ll get the same share of gate receipts anyway and having to sell more will likely be seen as an inconvenience and possible loss if they didn’t then sell the rest.
-
It's had a nice ring to it but no Wolves and Hornets to continue the trend. But we have so far had the Terriers, Cockerels and potentially the Canaries. If all goes to plan we'll take the Shrews in the quarters and then anyone from the Owls, Bluebirds, Throstles, Magpies or Rams after.....the fish-fiddlers need not apply.

Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread
alehouseboys replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Nice thought but Levy is known to be a bit frugal. Even if it were again only season tickets holders at a tenner almost the entire ground would likely still be sold out to ST holders, I think they've got over 40,000 on season tickets, so missing out on a bumper payday. Unless both clubs agreed before hand, can't see them being much under £25. -
The early SISA meetings were good, think the first one was at the Captain's Place, a pub on the corner of Terminus Terrace and Bernard Street. It was rammed that night. Then Hulse Road saw a few good times. Bally's homecoming night at the Polygon was another top one. Chorley and McMillan changed the vibe and it got too political. Same happened to the Ugly Inside fanzine. Great in the early days and for most of it's production but the lefties ruled in the end.

Based in California I believe. Unless it was Ralph.

Pilchards? What happened to Redslo, was that Ralph Krueger?
