  1. “big teams in League 1” you say....that won’t be bothering them then
  2. Spending 100s of £millions on football clubs must be becoming less and less attractive as the days go by. With little prospect of a major revenue stream, the fans, returning any time soon and the future of football very much uncertain, I'd be inclined to keep my money in my pocket.
  3. I was just thinking the other day that it's probably best that no fans will be there as our some of our more dopey fans won't be able to boo and dribble in faux outrage at him....
  4. Most fans wanted a player like Keane in their side...but if he wasn’t, he was an obnoxious dirty ••••
  5. I’d imagine it would be worth playing the long game for any new buyer. Certainly a buyer’s market.
  6. Amazes me how anyone would be looking to invest in football clubs right now in the current climate...unless they’re getting the bargain of the century. Gao clearly wants/needs out desperately, maybe the potential new guy has him over a barrel...? Hopefully all good for SFC #dontholdyourbreath
  7. Yep, did this too and now appears to have sorted the getting-in issues....
  8. That reads as if it was a 3 year deal worth £7.5m, not £7.5m per year over the period of which we've already, reportedly, received the first year in full. And amusing to see a 'tinpot' little skate joining in with the big boys in the comments.
  9. I'd say that's a good bit of business concluded for Fulham there, 2 decent players on those terms. The last time they come up they spent £100m and went straight back down again. But they will still need more additions to avoid the same again. Good luck to Reed, hoped he was gonna work out here but never really got or grabbed the opportunity. Good move for him.
  10. John McGrath - GBH. Regularly.
  11. There's some shocking kits around for the new PL season, particularly some of the 2nd and 3rd shirts - Everton's 3rd is 'Seafoam and Charcoal'. Relegated Watford's home shirt is also worth a look...... https://www.premierleague.com/news/1701595 Saints kits are the best UA have come up with for us and probably best in the league imo.
  12. That can't be true as he "never puts money into scum". Maybe he watched from the road on a pile of pallets?
  13. Didn't we lose to Bristol City in prep for the return? Certainly didn't do us any harm but if a similar repeat of that occurs this time no doubt a few will go into meltdown mode. No problem with keeping preparation mostly under wraps.
  14. I know a few STHs that have already sacked off this season as sitting in a sterile stadium holds little appeal. Just as much fun to (easily) find a stream and watch for free. Shame, why couldn’t this all have happened a couple of seasons back?!!
  15. Not seen anything official yet, are the club still selling shirts?
  16. True unfortunately - we’ve just witnessed some of our best performances in recent years, signs that home form improving and hopes high for coming season. And now very few will get to see it!
  17. It could be some time before we see full stadiums again (and no away fans next season at least), will fans be gagging to get back in the future or will many just get out of the habit of going week in, week out? Most clubs may need to come up with very attractive deals on ticket prices to entice fans back.
  18. Saints fan cleared over flares at derby match https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/18619319.southampton-fan-cleared-flare-portsmouth-caraboa-cup-match/ He's been getting hate mail from the pony-punchers - I'm surprised, I thought the backward fookwit residents of portsea island were still wearing flares
  19. I did have a wry smile at Honest 'arry's interview on the Beeb as he lamented the Cherries' demise but forgot to add it was his beloved 'ammers that more or less sent them down with another effortless display against Villa.
  20. http://wiz1.net/channel13?61612516 No problems with this first half. Other than the scoreline.
  21. I miss the days when all goalies wore green tops, how their keeper gets away wearing a yellow one there? Quite like the look of the sash. Anyone know when the new season fixtures are out, should be very soon?
  22. Channel 507 on Virgin
  23. PL football clubs and the local OB will now be hoping their club get Leeds at home in the first half of the season when away fans will likely still be absent inside stadiums, they certainly be a handful. Saying that (and away allocations allowing), Leeds away will be in demand if tickets available, West Brom is usually popular and it would (normally) be good for a London side to come up for the usual good day out. But if either of the west London clubs do make it tickets will be like gold dust. Brentford's new stadium only holds 17,000, visitors will be lucky to get 1500 tickets. It's similar at Fulham with only 3 sides open during the new stand construction so they'll be just for the lucky few. Welsh need not apply.
  24. And to be picky, neither are also officially in Lancashire....
  25. Improved as the game went on, as his career will with games. They gave Ingsy MOM, nothing wrong with that, you could probably just give it to him before kick-off as you know he'll do enough each game to deserve it, but I'd have given it to KWP. He had a massive influence on that, he's got great feet, another who's just going to get better. Poor first half all round, good second.
