Hopefully they’ve settled on a sponsor and with no UA next season (saved their best kits til last!) things should run a bit smoother next year

Neil Lennon gets a vote. We're lucky to have the 'Kaiser' who generally comes across well - whether he'd be so restrained under the constant spotlight, media interviews and pressure that comes with managing one of the 'Big 6' who knows? And it no doubt helps having the likes of Semmens and Crocker onboard with his philosophy. Oh, and Pulis for his view of how the game should be played.
-
You can tell he's enjoying it by the way he's pushing back into his chum. Brotherly love, portsea island style.

If you mean this, you can right click on this image and 'copy image' or 'save as' (or phone I think you just click and hold and 'copy' or 'add to photos'?

Red outside the circle was just to give idea on a red stripe Ignore me if I'm stating the obvious - Google 'Southampton Crest' - click images - open - right click 'save as image' No. I was a Brownie

No doubt, that certainly improves the look of our current badge for me (thought the same when they did similar after 76) so, if nothing else.....

Here's a compromise combo

This is the traditional city coat of arms and it used to adorn the Boardroom walls at the Dell I wouldn't normally praise anything relating to that little island to the east but they certainly got it right reverting back to their current emblem that ties in with council. It pops up everywhere down there, all the councillors wear lapel badges, the street names show it, it's on all kinds of literature so constantly promotes the club too. The shield element of the Southampton crest was the SFC badge until 1974 (although we never had it on the shirts), it's still used around the city and wouldn't harm the club to share the exposure. But what about this, is someone taking the piss? http://www.vitraux.co.uk/product/ref-ed329-2-edwardian-stained-glass-windows-armorial-heraldic-coat-arms/ed329cl2/

I'm not a fan of the current badge, bit too gimmicky for me. Now I fully intend to win the Euro£Millions this weekend and then go straight out and bang the lot on a 10/1 shot at the races. When it storms home I'm gonna buy SFC and the first thing I'll do, and this won't please everyone/anyone, is change that darn badge and it will probably look something more like this

Just before my time, fellow Jock Eric Martin already had the gloves when I started going. RIP Campbell Forsyth

A bit surprised to see this on a Sky channel a week or so ago

Clemence and Shilton, two great England keepers battling it out for the No1 jersey (as it alway was back then). I narrowly favoured Shilts, couldn’t get over that Hampden howler by Ray, despite Shilts guilty of worse at Wembley in ‘73 v Poland (while Jan Tomawotsname performing heroics down the other end!). Great keeper, RIP Ray Clemence

He’ll be 32 before the end of this season and then looking for a new contract. I’m sure he’ll be realistic and knows he won’t be able to command the same level of salary he secured at Goodison despite no transfer fee involved, even if the next 5 months goes very well. Hopefully work out well for both club and player.

Hopefully ol' Queenie will be around for a few more years yet (and not just because we'll get an extra days holiday next year!) but what's gonna happen with the National Anthem once she goes? It's just had an airing at Wembley, 'God Save the King' ain't got the same ring to it and, for the football at least, an ideal opportunity to replace it with a new 'English' anthem. Ain't the same without Ingsy and JWP out there tonight.

“Modern fans” this is my fifth decade+ of going and actually supporting this club Each to their own but I think he’s settling back well, contributing and a touch unlucky not to have had his name on the score sheet so far.

Harsh. After good work winning the ball back he picked out Adams' run for a top class finish. If he'd rolled it along the ground to Che he'd just as likely have slammed it into the covering defender. Walcott's work rate and contribution so far has been excellent and unlucky not to have a goal against his name.

....and if by some twist of fate results go our way this weekend it will mean we were top of the Premier League for the most of November. There maybe something to be said for International breaks yet! "Sha, la-la"

Sha-la-la, la-la, la-la-la............

Did all the home games, the only away fans to turn up were 5,000 drunken sweaties. We beat Oldham to reach the final.
-
Ingsy has to wait and fight to regain his position, the ideal scenario. Means we’re in a great place.
-
There’s only romanticism if you stay up. I guess none of us really want to be involved down there but there’s no doubt some of those relegation battles have given many of us our best days out at the football, particularly the do-or-die away games. I’ll take battling it out for top spot over them all the same.

As long as we don't lose sight of the fact they stuck seven past the league champs and the "worlds greatest centre half" recently (I also realise Leeds stuck 3 past them with no reply last time out at home). Capable of winning this but I'd take a point.

Most of the pre-match threads have been slow this season, I guess everyone's feeling a bit detached from the game as behind closed doors. With a new national lockdown predicted to be coming into force next week it will be interesting to see if games get suspended again. PL chief doesn't expect it to "at the moment".
