Underrated tbf...

That would be nice, and then stay there for a few years. They'd have the biggest and best new stadium in the lower leagues.
-
Just a shame we never had this for the fans to buy when we had Alan Lallanarama, would have made a lovely terrace visual along with his chant and the accompanying flailing arm wave.

What's Barry Venison up to these days?
-
Good enough for me, not too gushy and used a nice pic from that four-nil-in-your-own-backyard occasion
-
Let’s hope the Villa fans appreciate he lowered his expectations to sign for them.
-
For me, the most telling thing will be if it comes out what salary we offered him (apparently would have made him our highest ever paid player) and what he's taken at Villa. If there's little difference it clearly wouldn't be for the money, you can't cite ambition as this is not the big move rumoured he'd only leave us for, it can only be he really wasn't happy here and just wanted out. He's a top striker, should be battling for honours not relegation scraps with a side that can lose 9-0 two seasons running, but he's knocking 30, injury-prone and in his last year of a contract, £30m is a welcome softener.

You could be right - Bilbao to play in red and white stripes Saturday, us unveiling the new yellow kit

What’s not to like? Off the bench Wednesday night?
-
On this occasion I can understand the club taking the smaller allocation. It’s been a while but first away since COVID, who knows how many will be happy to go to home games but hold off on travelling? Traditionally the worst supported away game in the North West, seen as the lesser fixture of the numerous times a season we seem to go there, long trip, motorway usually fooked. We’ve taken around 4-5,000 to Wigan the past couple of times we’ve been there! Probably change with their new stadium if we’re still around.
-
Pretty sure Cardiff away was Ralph's first game in charge, and I seem to remember Vestergaard having a 'moment'. Must win game....

And to think, just a few years back we were being lauded as the blueprint for ambitious mid-table PL clubs (including Leicester when they got promoted...look what happened to them!). What a shitstorm.
-
I was one happy lad when we signed Ossie, big signing for us at the time - would have been nice to have got Alan Hudson at the same time but he ended up at Stoke.
-
3 goes with Grimsby in FA Cup in the 70s too (finally beat them at Filbert Street) - think an Arsenal and scousers semi-final went to 4 games back around then as well. Lightweights today.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
alehouseboys replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Tbf, he’s a Chelsea fan but covered the skates when he worked at a radio station down there and blows their trumpet. He’s a shit commentator all the same. -
Tbf, when he tells Vestergaard to “do your thing” he may have his Autumn-2018-form in mind. If, like Trousers suggests, he may be a bitter sweatie, then let’s hope he spunks another £50 on a Danish shirt to go with the recent Ukraine and German poor purchases. Fook, we win this tonight and sales of Italian shirts will go off the scale north of Hadrian’s Wall. Mike Ashley will be happy.
-
Spain edging this. Extra time for these two will be good for tomorrow's winners, they'll get an extra day's rest so hopefully England match decided in 90 mins (for either side). There's some Mush in a Saints shirt sat in the front row at the Spanish end.
-
He got us to the World Cup semis last time out but that hasn't stopped many calling for his head since, if we go out to the Danes it won't be long before the knives start coming out again.
-
Basically, if someone wants him now they're gonna have to pay what we want. If Levy gets £100m for Kane and comes calling stick another £10m on.
-
Excellent move for him at this stage of his career, thought it would be someone more like Palace. Good luck to him, great service at SFC, will receive a good reception if he makes the Leicester side against Saints.
-
The big Union Jack with Southampton was behind the goal again, there was another hanging over the second tier that I saw and also a 'Calmore Saints' one. Probably others, usually a few on show at England matches.
