Embarrassing. I can't understand where there's any connection to 'Southampton' in that, why would anyone sing it? Maybe it was something in honour of Mick Channon? Thing is, as much as we love him, Mick wasn't from Southampton - was it a Wiltshurrrr thing? Now if you were singing about the docks... Any ways, my contribution from the 70s: "Show them the way to go home, They're tired and they wanna go to bed (for a wa.....), Cos they're only 'alf a football team, Compared to the boys in Red.......and White stripes! ...and for the catchy (much-missed) tune... We'll see you all outside, we'll see you all outside, We'll see you all, we'll see you all outside, We'll.....................etc., etc.

Mary Corbett felt "threatened" and "physically intimidated" by Lowe

...but didn't he once get beat up by a bird? ...or the wife of an ex-manager as the 'story' goes -

...we had far stronger strength of support but... You've just highlighted another monumental Wupert f**k-up. When Norwich were relegated along with us the first thing they did was slash season ticket prices and got a complete take-up and restored the feelgood factor. We continued to charge Premier League prices and immediately further p*ssed off and already massively p*ssed off fanbase and so the decline continued - particularly as the product on offer since has deteriorated considerably. Norwich know how to treat their 'customers' and the fans have also been able to renew every year 'early bird' at those low prices. Well done Delia.

...I was thinking more... ...and the Joan Crawford sketch...

So why not the usual bolshy/insulting diatribe from nineteen/sundance/Lord... sounds like the last desperate throes from Rupey's mob to swing the 'flat-caps' round?

The idea's got mileage but...why travel 30+ miles to protest, Eastleigh is the sensible destination. I love Nick Holmes as much as the rest of us 'oldies' but tbh I don't want him as manager down here and if everyone turns up at Salisbury singing "There's only one Nicky Holmes..." it might just send out the wrong message! We'd probably get more local media attention at Eastleigh...and we'd get the chance to give our respects to p*rtsmuff's training ground en route!

Poll: Will y0u attend next season if lowe and wilde are still here?
alehouseboys replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
...but the reality is you'll probably find it easier to stay away than you imagine. Our seats were taken away last year when they closed the corners so we decided it wasn't worth renewing and the hassle of picking new seats as we'd easily just get tickets week by week. But after being an almost ever-present at home games for nearly 40 years it's shocked me how easy it is to miss a game. THAT gutless display at fartton set the rot in for me, Lowe coming back topped it off. I look forward to rekindling the passion for my club. -

...should that be "Permission stevegranted"?

...from a Plymouth side that he had transformed into a decent side and who's fans adored him...was he a good manager then? Maybe it just proves that a person should 'never go back'...and also suggests that Hoddle may not have been so great if he had done as his few admirers on here would have you believe.

...not much of a march tho!

Ah, games played in the snow...Bally's first game in charge (Branfoot gone, 'appy days!), Saints 4, Liv'pool 2, Le Tiss hatrick, live on Sky...15 years ago! Away to Bristol City just before Christmas, late 70s, won 1-0. Bring it on.

...and with all the media coverage it appears the rally will now be getting, there gonna make a big thing about 'faceless' Lowe hiding when it comes on top. Maybe they'll also mention it's his second holiday in just a couple of weeks - not a good example for a CEO to set whilst Rome burns... -
Well the official number was 9,000 with those in the seats (25% of 36,000 in those days), tho' unofficially a few more with those forged fartton end tickets. But as 'Didcot Saint' says "complete and utter bedlam and the most fantastic explosion of joy and elation"...you had to be there.
