Pathia-etic. Serious business.

He's back...

No one would've guessed. Still, he who laughs last...tick,tick...

Would you ground share SMS with Pompey?

...as if... -
...maybe not exactly a 'football story' just yet but I would have expected an official club announcement on the OS at 7am sharp this morning - they knew it was coming and owe it to the fans. Then again...
-
Ironic that that's where this news broke first a couple of days ago...and nobody believed ol' Pyscho...
-
"Announcement at 7am, 1st April 2009" ...wait a minute... Couldn't be Rupey's April Fools joke...could it?
-
I know of a club in need of a new stadium, not so far away...quite near their training ground, in fact...£23m?, a snip at today's new stadium prices. It couldn't happen...could it?
-
...but how much would we make from opening just one stand? (cos that's all they'd need of course ) And, if it ever came about, please remember our little-skatey-friends, there's no drums/bands/seat-wetters allowed in SMS...oh, and you can keep out of our pubs on matchdays too...
-
...like just after the cup final, when we were heading for Europe, talk of expanding a regularly full SMS...when exactly was Wupert (in his own words) gonna start making us the " Man United of the South"???
-
...but I keep getting this 'orrible thought that, what with our perilous financial situation, ol' Rupes would let them groundshare for some income while the "fartton redevel*cough*opment" takes place, only for it to inevitably grind to a halt and we get stuck with 'em camped out at SMS for years to come...
-
But "businessman like Lowe" is now in business with "dogs dinner" Wilde, what does that say about him? And you gotta admit some of Lowe's fanciful, revolutionary ideas have been disastrous...what a businessman! Now where are my crayons...:smt023
-
...myself...Savampton...mush...
-
..."Completion - 30,254 seats" Not as big as SMS then, that'll hurt.
-
...oh, and another...last year at The Dell, 3-down to Liv'pool and back we roared to 3-3... "3-nil and you fu................................"
-
Well all the obvious ones like those mentioned, Dellhurst etc. But for the drama, passion and intensity of fantastic endings to games, ones that spring to mind... Home to Villa, probably early 80s, 2-down late in the match and got it back to 2-2, just remember the noise as the whole place roared them on. Also, Bally's days as manager, Newcastle at home midweek, again, first the Archers (we never sat down again after that) and then the entire ground shaking the Geordies into submission. And probably the loudest I've ever experienced, and I've been all over, was the end of a spikey Leeds game and the noise just kept building to a crescendo and "Come on you Reds..." roared as it used to be (not the limp-wristed way it's done these days) that made yer ears bleed! 'Appy days
-
...bring back the marchers/protesters then I say! :smt023
-
...or responded to calls from the 'luvvies' to stop the protests and get behind the team in these desperate times? No pleasing some.... Lowe out btw.
-
So where does Hoddle fit in to all this? :smt102
-
...this "decline and bad management" started 6 years ago...
-
Well Mr Canteen, if you find that "worrying" you should've been on here a few months ago, there was then this weirdo called 'sundance-something-or-other' who used to come out with all sorts of bizarre stuff...you should've been there... :) :)
-
But Um...I still find it hard to throw too much blame at Poortlviet as I truly beleive he was only ever bought in as a cheap, expendable, scapegoat as early days playing youth (virtually) alone was always a risky ask and his hands were always tied. Result inevitable, please enter Mr 'Saviour' Wotte. So Wotte now has the reins and is likely getting anything he wants - something Jan would probably loved to have had.
-
It's those (namely the Board) that were "ignorant of the competition in this league" that put us in this predicament - yet another fanciful Rupey experiment at our expense.
-
..so not...cough..."2 weeks" then?

Bring the Caps out for Bally - Burnley (H) 25/04
alehouseboys replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
I kinda see what 'Hypo' is saying but as it does fall on the 'actual day' I believe it would be an appropriate gesture. No doubt it will be a tough day for his closests and it may just ease the pain that we show he's still fondly thought of. Personally I wont be wearing one ('kin 'orrible things!), but I've always admired the man (I can even blank out his time spent down the road) for his passion and energy - I'm a Bally fan. Still not sure tho' if this isn't just 'Channon's Sideburns' attempt at winding up nineteen/sundance cos we all know what he feels about the "flat caps!"
