  1. Fair enough...but I think you're wrong.
  2. Wonder how many tickets we'll get. Leeds got 4000 for the league match...whatever we get bet it aint enough!
  3. Skates at Sunderland yesterday... ...if that's 400 I need to get to Specsavers...150 tops!
  4. For third-tier English football that aint "pretty poor" it's a very good attendance. Dirty-Leeds last home game saw 36k for a top-of-table local derby, unusual at this level but not surprising for a big club that could get 40k in the Prem. Their home league game before that saw less than we got yesterday. And I'd guess we'll get a near full-house Boxing Day (26th Dec for 'Trousers'), particularly if we do win next Saturday.
  5. http://boards.footymad.net/forum.php?tno=323&fid=14&sty=2&act=1&mid=2123624077 1 or 2 starting to worry about us and their dip in form...hopefully the players heads are full of their upcoming game against the mancs. Could be a good time to play them.
  6. I'll go 4-1 Saints this afty...
  7. Just glad it aint this one cos every time I saw him ...I got visions this knut...
  8. Ahhhhh....the memories...
  9. Good point - forgot about that...still, let's do it again...
  10. That is a very good result away to an inform side...now what a fantastic opportunity to banish the demon of Tranmere next week! I won't accept any less than a cricket score after the humiliation of Prenton Park ...and if we're 3-up at half time shout f'kin louder!!!
  11. Our new 'local' derby! Nearest ground to Southampton this year I believe.
  12. Not enough bouncing-up-and-down at football these days. Altogether now..."Knees up Mother Brown, knees up Mo........", nah, not quite the same is it?!
  13. Good work that man. Stevie M's goal still sends a shiver down the spine (I'm actually in your footage bouncing up-and-down at fartton - Im the one with a couple of 2p coins (tight gits) embedded in me skull and a banana in me ear!) .and if we're really being fussy, it may have been nice to use the 'Gob****e' pic...
  14. If Messrs. Liebherr and Cortese believe expanding SMS's capacity as we edge back towards the Prem is a good idea then getting the FA to part fund it is probably another good idea. I just wonder whether Mr Liebherr intends to still be here in 2018?
  15. http://www.hartlepool.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=6333&posts=3 Deserved praise to all that turned out.
  16. They were originally blue, then changed to pink. I always favoured a 'Saucy-Tanner'...
  17. There's not one ground in this country that comes anywhere near most Eastern European or South American stadiums for atmosphere. Watch any European game involving British teams and usually a few hundred foreigners out-noise the home fans over here and although Brits travel in the thousands you barely know they're in some of these grounds abroad. I love SMS, she's a lovely stadium but dead from the waist down. South of the halfway line the place is comatosed, any noise coming, mainly, from (half) the Northam end is for most of the time a gentle sing-along. Some barely raise their voices, some just clap along, it aint in any way imtimidating. Gotta admit I prefer my atmosphere raw, to be honest menacing, even the occassional blood-curdling roar when we're attacking would be nice. Having said that SMS is still better than many grounds in this country.
  18. Agreed. Now let's hope the powers-that-be feel the same way. Something like this would be quite nice for any SMS expansion...
  19. Let's hope we all have a good day.
  20. I'd have to agree. I can understand why they do it, so they don't need to employ too many ticket office staff in the evening but I'd still have thought they'd recoup their wage costs pretty quickly on what they're probably paying them. Maybe they could have just increased the prices after say 5ish, after normal office hours on the match day and so still giving home fans who make a late decision the opportunity to buy tickets at the lower price.
  21. Maybe this... http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?t=162415
  22. ...looks like they sent back 1,000 tickets. http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?t=162433
  23. Is it just me...when we had a spell of playing them in the late 70s/early 80s this fixture had a 'derby' feel to it, those away days were memorable :smt023 ...but now? I know we only have the one 'local derby' but although it's a 'South Coast derby' in the same way as Bournemuff is but there's not the intense feeling there for either of those clubs for me. I was away when we last played them at SMS, do we still drown out their 'Seagulls' chant with "SEAWEED, SEAWEED, etc." like we did in the old days? Still eagerly anticipating this game, 'appy days.
  24. As the Southern 'semi' is, I believe, one-leg I'd rather get Norwich home now 'cos if we're gonna get to Wembley we'll more than likely have to face them so better once at home than home and away.
  25. As of 2 or 3 days ago they'd sold around 150 tickets, I would imagine that's gone up a bit since but with their tradition of travelling support I'd be amazed if it reached 500 for this competition.
