Only 1322 tickets for Bournemouth!
alehouseboys replied to fanimal's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Not a chance I'd say. Many Saints fans are traditionally bad for leaving it late for buying tickets and I think some always take the the stance that they'll never get tickets when their limited and go to ballot so don't bother. Both of the games you mention easily sold out with many Saints fans in home areas at Exeter last season and that's 120 miles away, Bournemouth is just 30 or 40 for most of us. Brighton are some of the worst, probably THE worst seats in football and some don't bother for that reason but we of course sell out. This is the business end of the season now and we'd have had thousands travelling if available...as it is I'll predict they'll be a LOT of ticketless Southampton lads in Bournemouth that day. -
Beat me to it. Spurs planned to shift what they'd have knocked down to south London to complete Crystal Palace athletics stadium and CPFC were proposing selling off Selhurst Park and moving back to their original home as part of the plan. Wonder what their fans would have thought about having a running track around their pitch? But what is it about London teams willing to move away from their roots, Arsenal from Woolwich, South to North London, Wimbledon and now Spurs willing to relocate smack bang in rival territory?

West Ham must be as near to Stratford as Orient and I'd guess most football fans in the area are Hammers, so can't see how it's really going to make much difference to O's attendances any more than if they tore down the Boleyn and rebuilt a big shiney new stadium there. Looks fine when full but most weeks, possibly in the Championship, it's gonna be one great big vacuous white elephant with that capacity and running track...reckon they'd live to regret moving.

Tho never a big scarf wearer after the early years I did like/envy those old European Cup scarves the Mancs and Scallies wore 30 or 40 years ago - only let down by the Mancs and Scallies wearing them!

The now infamous 'Tom Tackle' pub one side of the Gaumont the Punk shop on the other. The Juniper Berry was another iffy establishment that attracted an eclectic mix. And the Warrens deserves a thread all of it's own.

...and TBF, TBF that was a 70s 'classic' ...although never included the words 'p*mpey' or 'b/mouth' as both of those little ol' clubs barely rippled our waters in those days.

...and you can't mention Plesteads Pies without also mentioning the neighbouring Dr Marten shop...a must for yer Pods and, obviously, yer Docs!

Oh you brave, brave soldiers.

I suggest once the fifth goal goes in we just write the game off and concentrate on Exeter and sing non-stop for ML. So let's have a poll who we think is gonna score the fifth; Ricky, Guly, Chappers..................................?

That is one funny thread. I'd even suggest putting that link into our Golden Threads just to remind us of our own lost forever TB Statue one. Ted makes a brief appearance on page 27 btw. ...and to bring it back on topic...has he gone yet?

'PO' territory, the portsea-pikey-real-pony-fiddlers like to run their horses through the village every year. A big day out down there - never have so many cousins been seen in the same place at the same time. Best avoided.

Come on Dalek, that's not like you.

I wouldn't say it was that bizarre. NC has made no secret he'd like to see one entire end given over to our more vocal supporters, only the Police stood in his way last year. If he decides to try again with the Chapel it wouldn't take much to throw in a few incentives to encourage a certain type of fan to migrate. Advertise the stand that it's likely to experience more standing than other parts of the stadium (most would understand what that meant), provide more beer outlets, a smoking area outside the Chapel end. And if they want to make it more colourful with big supporters flags like European grounds they could set something up at the back for them to be hung in front of the perspex, as someone said, would also help stop the youngsters ruining every chant with 100mph banging. Lockers could be provided in the concourse so fans don't have to lug heavy flags to every game and could be allowed in early to hang them up. I'm sure there's plenty of better ways to make it work if they wanted.

Hopefully it's only letting you buy extras that are non-ST seats 'cos I aint got mine yet! All you lot hoovering up extra tickets better make sure you know who you're selling them onto, could come back and bite ya in the wotsnames...if the club aint already worked out what's happening...

Apparently, john-ports-foot-in-mouth-football-club-w******d got chased all round Brighton today, bet he wished he'd left the clown shoes at home...

I'ts possibly not so much to do with the amount of fans inside a ground but more how those that are there get behind their side, like making a big gnarly noise and intimidating the opposition. But having said that why are Millwall usually sh*t? It's the way I'd like my ground anyway.

'Trousers' mentioned this in the Blackpool build up thread yesterday morning, officialsaints twitter, over 19k and selling well. With yesterday afternoon, this morning and a walk-up, probably 21-22k.

I could do the ol' boyfriend from behind jokes here but I'll refrain. Anyway Spike, shouldn't you be worrying about your 'big' local derby this weekend? Plenty of tickets still available.
-
Over 140 posts suggests you are. I'm guessing you're about as much a Manc as you are a BHA fan so I'll plump for a kiddy skate. Anyone remember 'Spike' from a while ago? Came on pretending to be Saints, accidently dropped his guard one day and outed himself as a thick skate. Similarities are uncanny.

You carry on p*ssing-yourself-laughing cos it was your "tone" that was making me cringe about us not having a "firm" and bigging up the "fights everywhere" with spurs, you sounded pwoper nawty. Just thought I'd let you know what it was like that day in Jan 78 that you didn't know about. Bit surprised these seagulls still haven't sold out little ol' Withdean yet for their big cup tie/local derby this Saturday, I can understand the skates struggling to sell a thousand tickets, I mean, it's over 40 miles away but a bit shocking BHA are having trouble shifting 7000...

...and had a "stonewall" penalty turned down but hey, who gives a f*** Mullered 'em for 75mins, rode our luck for 10 and then killed and won the game. Sign of champions if you ask me
