  1. 'patred' posted this on The Ugly Inside... http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/football/ARGYLE-SAINTS-DATE-DOUBT/article-3323728-detail/article.html?
  2. This game's barely been on the radar with so many matches lately and still Bournemouth and Plymouth away to come before but after Saturday I'd say the remainder will quickly get snapped up and we'll end up with fans complaining 'cos they couldn't get tickets. Then it'll be the same for Orient.
  3. Very restrained Mr Lungs, I'm sure there's one or two queueing up to demonstrate their feelings on the matter a little stronger. Has the Dorset air done funny things to his head, he really must know what he's got coming writing sh*t like that?
  4. ...how many of ya were featured in the Echo's 'Looking back through time' feature last night? The one where they pick a story from 100, 75, 50 and 25 years ago. I quote: (from 25 years ago) "Southampton football fans travelling from p*rtsmouth to Brighton diced with death and brought British Rail to a virtual standstill. When the train stopped at Lancing about 50 Saints fans, who had been misbehaving on the train, got out of the train and started dancing on the rails. The electricity had to be switched off to prevent the fans electrocuting themselves, causing delays to at least eight services." It's not big and it's not clever. And I know who you are.
  5. I am indeed Um, it's fair to say most of us have never seen a team take/f*ck up a corner and then watch the ref generousy/wrongly let them retake it.
  6. And their snazzy short corner thingy shouldn't go without mention, straight off the training ground...fooled everyone, even the thicko ref who didn't appear to know the rules...
  7. Agree. If that many were really put out by the lack of a minute silence...and I think they should have held one but I understand there 'All Saints Day' policy...then more could have quite easily joined in with the "Deano" chants. As it was only a handful decided sing his name so maybe they didn't feel quite as strongly about it until Solent caused a fuss. And I'm certainly not knocking the ones who were chanting and that goes for the general atmosphere at SMS anyway, other than one corner of the ground the place is fookin' comotose. RIP Deano.
  8. I does seem a bit odd they'd try and keep Saints fans in a town centre pub mixing with shoppers and miles from the ground. But if true and they really are laying on buses just watch out in case the OB are pulling that old fartton trick by doing everything to delay fans getting to the ground before kick-off. We had it on the trains down there twice and didn't get in til near halftime. I wouldn't be surprised if it'd take 'longer than expected' to get all the fans on the buses and away and then hit loads of traffic. A pub best avoided IMO.
  9. Is this you mack...?
  10. Steve Moran - "1984" does that count as one word?
  11. Heard the weekend that they'd received twice as many applications as there were tickets so looks like you'll be very lucky to get one.
  12. And tbh many barely raise their voice, it's more like a gentle sing-a-long at the back of the bus at times. Other than occasional big games this country is now ****e for atmosphere; South Americans, Turks and most Eastern Europeans can produce a noisy spectacle in big open stadiums with no roof and running tracks around the pitch, it's like a tea party here in comparison. As 'latter day saint' says, these organisations need organisers and they're not easily accepted, look at the grief people like Illingsworth get...and TCWTB down the road (tbf he's a c*nt and should be slaughtered)... I'd like to see it...maybe this was Cortese's idea for the Chapel?...but I couldn't really see it working out somehow. And not enough 'bouncing' these days.
  13. Very sad news. Terrific player. RIP Deano.
  14. ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz kicking towards Saints fans second half (7-800 according to Solent - fair play to 'em) hopefully they'll get a kick up the 'arris...
  15. I've seen some breathtaking goals in the 40+ years I've been going...and Le Tiss' screamer against the Arse in the last league match at the Dell takes some beating for pure fitting beauty...but that one was incredible. I was fortunate to be there to witness it, that was a fantastic side beating (and running rings round) one of the best teams around and to have been on TV means we can enjoy it forever. Gerald Sinstadt's commentary of that goal has lived with me ever since.
  16. 12,000+ at Selhurst Park, 1,200+ at Dean Court. Aint gonna happen is it. If nothing else, it does show that the Cherries have peaked. They've been talking, since the season began, like this game is their biggest in history, they've had the tickets on sale since October...f'kin October!...and they're still on sale. They only had to sell 10,000-odd home tickets!
  17. I think he's just creaming himself at the prospect of hearing a bunch of gnarly away fans singing his name in a few weeks time...even if it is derogatory. What do they say? Any publicity is good publicity...and f*ck does that goon love publicity.
  18. If it's end-of-season it may well coincide with the game that gets us up or into the play-offs, if that's the case I'd think it's more certain.
  19. As late in the season as possible please as this gives us an opportunity to get a lot of tickets for a match, hopefully, at a crucial end to the season. We'll get just 800 for Brighton and around 1200 at Brentford. At Rochdale, I know it'll be another long drag oop north midweek but we could have over 3600 in the away end. Nice end btw.
  20. b-anter was usually a chuckle while it lasted.
  21. Look...it's Eddie's bruvvas, Phil and Grant.
  22. Maybe he's the third Mitchell bruvva? Ol' Eddy does seem pwoper nawty.
  23. It would be nice to think the club took onboard a few of the comments from disgruntled fans last year and at least communicate intentions a little earlier if nothing else. One of the reasons given for the lack of an instalment plan was the ****s who reneged on the payment plan so, as nice it would be to return to it, I can't see that happening until the electronic ticketing is up and running.
  24. I believe it's more a case of expanding the Itchen was possible but more problematic and expensive than the 3 other stands. When expansion was talked about in the Lowe era cost was everything so there was no chance of the Itchen changing as the required increase in seats was easily obtainable from expanding the Kingsland and/or the Chapel/Northam. Even then it didn't really stack up on our then budget. Aesthetically (as MLGs vid shows) and for symmetry keeping the ends the same and developing the side stands would be preferable.
  25. Condolences. RIP
