Fair enough, never looked into a Travelcard, usually just do a Group-Save if we use the train. Having said that, we booked our tickets (Group-Save for 4) to Leyton and still have the freedom to hop on and off the tube in the central zones...which we will of course be taking advantage of.
-
If you're getting the train don't forget to get your tickets through to Leyton so you don't have to mess around buying tube tickets at Waterloo. Group-Save from Southampton is £18somethingorother.

'ladysaint' was offering one this time last night on the 'Saints Away Supporters' forum. Worth a PM.

That was our lowest away support this season but we still had about the same at Oldham for a rearranged midweek winter fixture than high-flying Brighton had a couple of Saturdays ago so it's not so bad. And we had more than 800 last season and similar this year for midweek trips away to Hartlepool, 1000 at the last 2 trips to Carlisle and 2,200 at Notts County. Sheff Wed was around 1500. Win Tuesday and pick up a result next weekend at Orient and I think we'll see 1500 at Rochdale, which would be very good for a 500-mile-round-trip midweek.

Their fans are predicting less than 4k for their home match with Plymouth midweek. If they lose it may mean a similar 'home' turnout Saturday which would leave a couple of thousand empty seats...roll up, roll up...

With all his clout there's no way Al Fayed would accept something that looks about as much like Wacko-Jacko as statue#1 looked like our Ted...he's 'aving a larf! (April) 'foolham' fc.................surely?

I think we "wrecked" 'em the other week in their...whatchamacallit...cup final...it killed 'em. Next week Huddersfield v Posh. Interesting.

We were always told they'd be waiting at fartton every time we went down to Brighton in the late 70s/early 80s but they never did. I can only recall the odd thing being thrown at the trains as we travelled through 'PO' territory.

It is a very nice looking (little;)) stadium, bit rural tho', can't see it being to much fun trying to get a drink at that fixture. Let's hope it doesn't just become another out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-soulless-place to watch football.

...are they moving it to the Emirates then...or Old Trafford...?

In reply to Moscow Saint, I had a little glance over on 'The Ugly' the other day and it was suggested that Saints push for the side stand as well. It's always sparcely populated so we may have a chance and would get our allocation up around 5,000. Would also be a better stand to be in. Go on Saints, you know it makes sense.

Nice one, JRM, first time I've seen the goal since Tuesday night. Gotta feel sorry for the poor geezer who popped off for a sh*te just before we took the corner...missed the goal and some **** nicked the bog roll! Particularly impressed how he managed to bounce it off someone's head on the way down.

Could be any ol' Saturday at St Mary's...I'm sure I could hear someone shouting "sit down"...

Leyton Orient away sold out...Extra tickets allocated
alehouseboys replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
'dellboypete' put this on the Saints Away Supporters forum: Not being a ST holder and working on the assumption that I won't get a ticket even though I go to most away games, I went to Orient at lunchtime as I work in London. Bought a ticket in the south stand nextish to the saints fans (in the east stand). £20 no problems. I asked how tickets were going - trying not to sound like a saints fan. The answer was very slowly and they always have pay on the day. Even though they have had a good run recently they are still getting less than 5000 for home games so it shouldn't be a problem for those wanting to pay on the day (but don't quote me on that) Thankfully my ticket is secured but if this is your plan, and with it selling out so fast, act quick as I'm sure Orient will soon be tightening up their system...unless they're desperate for our cash! -
Leyton Orient away sold out...Extra tickets allocated

http://www.leytonorient.com/page/MatchReport/0,,10439~48418,00.html To be precise, they officially gave us 3,208 last season. How many more got in on Orient tickets is anyones guess...but a sizeable number did. -
He's actually hardcore-hoolie on a 4 year banning order...it's the only way he can get inside SMS undetected.

Take a brave man to bet against Posh right now...but...this is the 'local derby' in the area this season so will have a bit of an extra edge for both sides. MK Dons win and it really sets it up nicely for us on Tuesday knowing if we go to the Valley and win we go second. The promotion run-in back in 1978 was fantastic, taking 10k+ on the road for the last few aways and the buzz building each game. And while we won't get the opportunity to take so many this time round our remaining trips now are gonna be special.
-
Now my language is fairly 'industrial' but I think the reason for this is that Saints fans seem to feel the need to put a "f*ck/c*nt/etc." (not to mention the 'P' word) into a lot of chants...strange really as we aint the most intimidating set of fans (unfortunately). Sky will be well aware of this and there's no way they're gonna allow family TVs to be flooded with expletives. And maybe it's just me but I didn't think the atmosphere was anything special yesterday, it was certainly better when we played our big, bad 'rivals' earlier in the season. It definitely picked up in the second half and fair play to the ones who kept it going but it was still mainly just the Northam/Kingland corner. Good win tho' and roll on
-
Well I aint '*****ing' about season ticket prices and I'll renew but I don't think it does any harm to know what fans of other clubs around you are paying. At least you'll know if you're being ripped off. If we remain in this division I'd expect it to stay about the same, if we go up so will the price, understandable.

Having had a look on the Charlton OS for some information for our visit next week I saw they are cutting adult ST prices by £50 next season. You can get adults for £240, about a tenner a match, their most expensive ST in the ground is £375. Thought I'd take a look at others around us to see what they're charging for adults and found (early bird prices in most cases) that Sheff Wed is £289 for their Kop, Peterborough is £275 for a terrace ST and I remember reading Brighton charging £375 whether renewing or new applications. As we're hoping to be a league higher next season I had a look at Derby, similar size club, stadium and support to us, and they're charging from £270 for adults (I guess in their family section), it wasn't the easiest to understand but behind the goals/corners it looks like between £350-£400. Someone mentioned we won't hear anything before July regarding STs at SMS so looks like they're waiting to see how the season pans out. Don't fleece us Mr Chairman please.

Bournemouth 1 - 3 Saints - Post Match Reaction
alehouseboys replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
That was from the Bournemouth angle, the cherry imposter is a little confused. -
But as you're quite clearly a Bournemouth fan that's just glossing over the fact your cup final support didn't live up to the ocassion and were easily outsung by 1300 visitors. All your posts take a similar line and have all appeared only around the 3 times we've played you. Give it up and we'll see you in about another 50 years or so.
-
I've read that Sheff Wed have got a new 'Ultras' thing going on...maybe interesting to see next Saturday. Their away support is usually excellent anyway but I think it's more aimed at getting some atmosphere at Hillsboro' where, apparantly, it's sh*te...guess when you've only got 15k rattling around a 40k stadium it's gonna be a morgue.

Only if they stop playing in blue
