  1. ...and 10,000 at Luton before that...and similar at Fulham for that Friday night game the one before that. At the same stage in 2011 we get a pitiful 800 for Brighton and 1800 for Brentford. Still 'appy days are 'ere again!
  2. If the wall hadn't been there you wouldn't have been able to smash his head against it. If the fences hadn't been there people wouldn't have been crushed against them and would have been able to get out. Of course the thousands of ticketless fans relentlessly piling in initiated the tragedy but it was a direct result of the fences being there that cost lives. This wouldn't be an issue at Brentford thankfully...but any potential situation on Saturday could easily have been avoided in the first place with common sense from the hosts.
  3. But that would just be childish though wouldn't it. However, I did stumble across this one if it helps...
  4. The first thing they need to do is change the name of the ground. And that road.
  5. What tune are we singing that one to Hamster? Tho' I think it's got too many words and will never catch on imo...
  6. Most covered but for all of us that were there, Limerick would be in with a good shout (circa 1981).
  7. Bit like those excited Bournemouth fans singing "Que, sera, sera..." last season...
  8. Usually worth tapping in your details here... http://www.moneysupermarket.com/travel-insurance/
  9. I would have thought so, as if this image is copyrighted you'd probably need permission to initially download it to then amend it anyway? Not that it's stopped anyone up to now! Good work so far Mike.
  10. So, just for the record are you Brighton or a Man U fan? You caused so much confusion at first coming on here claiming to be a nawty seagull, then you lived in Manchester and a United fan but your boyfriend was Brighton, now you're well and truly back as the seagull's biggest minc....fan. "Confused? I was never confused" Guard of honour? Yer 'aving a larf.
  11. Although he probably wasn't expected to walk straight into their side and set the world a light, wasn't his form hampered by some fairly serious injuries? As we were desperate for money maybe it was good that the transfer went ahead and then he broke down at spurs.
  12. No doubt, it's a nice little stadium...but... ...for me a little too nice, too comfy and too rural. Why do football stadiums need to be so sanitised...padded seats ffs...as long as you've got a roof to keep you out of driving rain, an unobstruted view of the pitch and you can get a beer and a p*ss then what else is required? Make them any more comfortable and fans will be falling asleep in the sterile atmosphere they encourage.
  13. And, apparantly, four corners to every pub in Brentford. Amazing. Another little known fact is that Bradley Walsh's mum used to play in goal for the Bees before turning to comedy. When asked of the difference between playing football for Brentford and being a comedian she replied "it's the same thing innit"...
  14. Didn't they used to make nylon sheets there?
  15. Less than 3 weeks to get it organised, money raised, manufactured and delivered. It's a challenge...
  16. You may well be right. Nothing like getting the preparation done early in anticipation of a couple of potentially serious fence-rattling episodes next season.
  17. Then I guess we should really say that about all football fans. Grown men getting all excited, jumping around singing, screaming - some even crying at times! - all for 11 fit young guys running around in shorts. Very homo erotic. Respect to all the old gits in the Kingsland that just sit on their hands with mouths shut tight. (Tho' maybe the tartan blanket across their knees is really just to hide their erections?) Pwoper 'ard b*st*rds, no homo eroticism there.
  18. Congratulations well deserved and what a perfect way to move into their new stadium...looking forward to visiting it next season... As for a 'derby'? Well it's handy it's only 60 miles along the coast and we had some cracking away days there 30 years ago. But Brighton have finally got a real local Sussex derby with proper local rivals now that Crawley Town have joined the Football League...20 miles apart. And if they don't settle quickly into Falmer they could well find themselves playing them twice a season in 2012/13.
  19. ...at least we now have a definitive explanation as to the inhabitants of portsea island.
  20. I think most fans would understand your stance as it wasn't us that stopped you having more tickets (for your cup final ...joke), most fans would rather see a packed stadium. But you have a very real prospect of thousands of fans turning up without tickets (maybe you lot should have just done that at St Mary's), many will be beered-up and frustrated stuck outside for what will likely be an important match which will inevitably bring it's own problems. If you don't give us anymore noone can really complain but maybe you Brentford fans should just get on and fill the place up yourselves and it wouldn't even be an issue.
  21. We easily sold out last year and officially had 1783. So if they only give us the norm it's gonna be another case of hoovering up home tickets...you can imagine what it's gonna be like if we can go up that day...it's only 60-something miles up the motorway. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10280~47887,00.html
  22. Some are saying just 1600. Hopefully the Saints Mafia are leaning on Brentford to release another stand as suggested on the Ugly. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=11923
  23. Just about all over central London. London Bridge is a favoured destination but best avoided Saturday as Leeds are playing Millwall, Liverpool Street will be well populated with Saints fans but you'll also have Spurs and Stoke in the area. There's a couple of pubs around Leyton that have been mentioned, the Birbeck Tavern round the corner from the tube looks like it gonna be popular.
  24. http://www.leytonorient2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12474&sid=9e7095b55dbcbf18f34c477c28847591 Just over 3k at Orient last night...2806 home fans...although they did win. Looks like there could still be a good chance of getting in if you turn up Saturday.
