  1. Caught a bit of TalkSH*TE this morning and Alan Brazil was talking to some journalist (didn't hear his name for the short time I was listening) and Redknapp's name came up with this guy biting his tongue but gagging to lay into ol' saggychops. Brazil was pushing him but he just said "I'd love to say more...maybe in a few months". He may be known as 'Teflon-arry' but this stuff just wont go away will it...
  2. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2464938,00.html Saints have sold nearly 2,000 tickets for Wednesday's trip to Cardiff City. There are no more tickets available at St. Mary's with 300 tickets now returned to The Bluebirds, to be sold from the ticket office at the Cardiff City Stadium. These will be available from 6.45pm at the away ticket office, however, please note, there is a £2 increase on all tickets on the day of the game.
  3. I remember going into the Civic Centre where they had 3 alternative models for the public to view. It was pretty exciting times, we'd recently won the cup and a brand new stadium was finally on the cards...we were on the up! The stadium was just one part of grandious plans to redevelop Western Esplanade/the ols Power Station site but like most such things in Southampton it slowly got whittled down to something far less spectacular...one great big toy shop...and no stadium.
  4. I noticed both teams wore white socks on Saturday, isn't that against the rules? If we miss out on promotion/play-offs by a couple of points come May can we demand a re-match?
  5. Then they should f*ck off and join the Welsh League. Problem solved. Tough game, a point would be acceptable if followed by a home win Saturday.
  6. ...this weekend. Found out by chance just after the League Cup draw so missed that but watched City v Everton. Free again tomorrow for any Virgin viewers out there.
  7. TBF ESB I would have thought there were very few football people/fans that didn't, at the very least, raise an eyebrow when Lumpitt gave up a very lucrative position at the FA to take on a job at a business that, as was the case at the time, could have gone to the wall at any moment. Why would anyone in their right mind do that? You can't blame anyone for thinking it was just an urgent need to get someone in there before a whole can of worms was opened exposing the obvious dodgy goings on in the game, probably implicating FA members in the process, so who better than the head of football integrity of the English game? It stunk. But however obvious it seems to us, the truth is, nobody to our knowledge has investigated it and there is no way the press would have let this slip by would they? Hopefully one day...we shouldn't hold our breath.
  8. "One club are under the protection of the FA'. I remember this appointment seemed a bit odd at the time: 'Portsmouth appoint key FA man David Lampitt as their new chief executive David Lampitt, the Football Association's head of football integrity who has overseen several investigations into Portsmouth's transfer dealings in the last three years, is to join the club as their new chief executive.' - Pete, London, 23/9/2011 17:24 One of the comments on that page (there's 33 but I only read the latest ones)...wouldn't it be sweet if it did all unravel. DFCSB.
  9. Oh well, keeps it interesting, just got to go to Burnley, win and regain top spot. And it is dirty leeds afterall.
  10. Well......if the OB had kept the skates in at SMS last time, like EVERYONE else does at feisty local derbies, then there wouldn't have been the trouble that immediately followed and this next fixture could have been handled the same way as many previous. But the OB f*cked up and as you rightly say, left themselves with no other option.
  11. Yep, turning point for me. I was in the 'disappointed with him' camp up until then. Been top class ever since. "Na, na, na, na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na, Deanooooooo"...good chant, hasn't been heard around SMS since Theo.
  12. If you were a walk-up buying on-the-day on Sunday I believe it would have cost you £29 to sit at the ends/wings. You seem to be a bit more pro-Saints these days Charlie...it's not because you 8-2 be a gooner (I know it's an old one but...) right now is it?
  13. ...around fartton park? :wow:
  14. This may also tie in with the rumour of a reduced allocation 'cos if this was to apply to the full 3,000 that's gonna mean them finding somewhere to park 60-odd coaches...aint gonna happen. So if it's true about the coaches then I can see us getting half that at the most.
  15. Hopefully Richardson returns to right back and Cork back to boss midfield, then I can see us edging this one 2-1. A lower than expected 23,000 to see it - one thing I'm not looking forward to if we were to get back to the Prem, less games on a Saturday.
  16. It does appear they're a bit more focused on the Braga game right now, understandable, but I did stumble across this quote which should warm the cockles of most Saints fans: "We will not beat Southampton, by all accounts they were class against Leicester the other week, and if it wasn't for Schmichael, Southampton would have got 5 or 6..." http://www.joysandsorrows.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13046 (on the 'Leicester tickets' thread)
  17. I believe the Brum v Braga match is on ITV4 tomorrow night if anyone is interested in weighing up Sunday's opposition.
  18. Crispy Cock...the leccy toothbrush story was doing the rounds at the time. Another off 'Day by Day' (70s version of Meridian Tonight) was James Montgomery who was married to soft porn star Fiona Richmond. Chuck in Dinenage and there's a hatrick. I'll also add Mickey Quinn to the list...but you could really just add most of the ****s off of TalkSH*TE.
  19. If we were to give them a mauling this afternoon then I could see McClaren quit/sacked by the end of the day!
  20. As have Burnley and Blackpool in recent years. QPR were minted tho'. But I think we'd have struggled to get back up if we had gone down while at the Dell and had it remained at just 15,000.
  21. Chris Moyles. Fat dirty Leeds c*nt.
  22. Yeah, LOL, "fierce local rivals"...there go my sides...:chortle:
  23. The Echo featured Liverpool's plans for their waterfront where the cruise ships would dock... ...makes Ocean Village and the Town Quay plans look a bit feeble. http://www.liverpoolwaters.co.uk/content/home.php
  24. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/09/03/southampton-footballer-dan-seaborne-left-fighting-for-life-after-3am-nightclub-attack-115875-23391976/ I see the Mirror have jumped in with both feet, looks like their 'insider' is from the Echo comments. Two sides to every story but all you can do in times like these is wish the fella well and hope Dan makes a full recovery.
