  1. …and Chris Evans is pretty irksome
  2. Moyles (tho ain’t got a clue what he’s up to these days) Wee Jimmy Krankie….Sturgeon Adam Hills
  3. What a mess. Rishi needs to sort out an HS4 for the Southern Powerhouse of Southampton to the capital!
  4. I’m not going but have heard it’s a bit of a carve up on the trains from Clapham. We’ve done the other way in the past, Southern from Central, up through Sussex and get off for a drink around Croydon. Then onto the game from that side, worked out well for us before. Edit: train tickets have been cheaper that route too
  5. He's clearly never heard of the 'Alehouse Brawlers' 🥊🥊
  6. I'm being cantankerous, I like it really, Southampton 1 portsea island fuckwits 0
  7. I reckon I could trump you all with Sunderland away (1982...ish), our coach turned up at 8 in the morning to be greeted with unrelenting rain going sideways convinced we'd just travelled nearly 300 miles throughout the night for nothing - amazingly the game went ahead in driving rain straight off the North Sea stood on an open terrace. Drew 1-1 (couldn't hold a lead!).
  8. Nothing like getting your boos in early. Harsh.
  9. Tbf, they'll probably have a better time being out of the way up in north London...
  10. I don't doubt that and they'd probably also drop them round gift-wrapped if you're an away fan, but the last time I saw big numbers in the home stands was Man Utd back at the Dell early 70s. If Arsenal really have 'bought mass' around St Mary's it will go off, let's see how the club talk their way around that.
  11. How many times do you hear this and it just doesn't happen? Just about every time we play a 'big' club. Even West Ham were claiming "500 Hammers will be in the home end" before last weekend. You'll get some exiled away fans who register with a southern postcode and get in but it's usually just bullshit that gains momentum.
  12. If anyone's interested - coming up shortly on ITV4 (17:55) Match Time Revisited - Southampton v Liverpool 1982...and that goal
  13. To go all MLG...the most shocking thing about that is the grammar
  14. There's plenty of Turkish news outlets quoting this as their headline and saying Rasmus 'stated' this comment. Tbf, they have been Turkish League champions in the past and won a number of cups and Izmir does have a population of well over 4 million, so bigger in that sense. But they regularly play in front of small crowds in a smaller stadium - I assume he was speaking through a translator who could have twisted his words to appeal to the eager audience but he should now come out and clarify what's been reported. When they do turn up they do get typical Turkish support which is on a totally different level to anything in this country... https://www.facebook.com/TheCasualUltra/videos/göztepe-fans-initiated-their-new-stadium-last-weekend-in-the-match-against-beşik/807091053036100/ I'm sure the powers that be at SFC would be looking at closing down large swaths of that stadium with behaviour like that (only slightly tongue-in-cheek!)
  15. Yeah, that was comical, it started out that around 100,000 had turned out for the parade of the cup they cheated their way to, it had doubled by the end of the weekend and then kept going up and up. Deluded fuckwits.
  16. "eat that scummerrrrrrrs...."
  17. He's doing a good job up there but I bet the Saudi owners still have a desire to see a big name in place up there eventually. And I could see why he'd fit the profile and possibly be the type in the sights of SR. Incidentally, he's already been linked as a replacement for Southgate but ruled it out so sees his future as a club manager (down south?).
  18. I'm certainly not expecting miracles but I would expect the place to get a lift of sorts and I'd still be more hopeful of picking up points with a new face (caretaker of otherwise) calling the shots. Lavia (and Tino) back soon should make a difference but this is still basically the same squad that was capable of this a few weeks back.
  19. This needs decisive action, hopefully they're just not negotiating a severance deal and each waiting for other's knees to buckle. Good timing for the 'new manager bounce' with a couple of winnable games with a fresh approach.
  20. Still more than the skates to to Wigan in the PL a few years back...
  21. I'm happy for them to fook off - if the TV money goes with it, no problem for me, levels up the playing field for those of us left.
  22. Well the idea certainly ain't dead, some powerful people still pushing for it https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63110317 ...fingers crossed then.
  23. I wouldn’t be surprised if the club are manufacturing ‘trouble’ here to give them a justification to clear out that area - they can then put in some more suitable types for sitting in front of the corporate boxes
  24. Why is it that Hants Constabulary have so much power to dictate what happens at St Mary’s yet the same Police force don’t appear quite so heavy-handed down the road where they‘ve had worse problems over the years? I can’t remember any closures in any parts of their shithole.
