The Big O - it's over. Or. D:Ream - things can only get better

Sky sports are live at St Marys and haven't mentioned any bugger turning up. Personally I am hoping that Nicola can rustle up some of his mafia buds and buy the club from the Liebherrs. They get their cash, he gets the club, we keep our don!

Matey from SISA is a total tool. Sounds like Benny Hill and talks as much sense too!

Match Thread - Saints v Burnley - FA Cup 3rd Round
Scoobysaint replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
You really are quite a strange specimen. We lose...... you moan, we draw....... you moan, we win.........you moan! To quote Chas and Dave, "Ain't no pleasing you!" -
Career win %'s mean nothing in relation to the present. I would imagine Ole Gunnar would have possibly the best career win % of the Premier League managers which according to Glasgow makes him the best in the league. He takes no note of which leagues have been managed in, or the clubs managed and whether expectations were met or not. For me, MP is meeting and exceeding my expectations. We were playing well till injuries struck to KEY players. Yes we need more depth in the squad but if I had been offered ninth at new year at the start of the season I would have reluctantly accepted it. Pretty much every game we have competed and had opportunities and on occassions we have not have the rub of the green with deflections, dodgy ref calls. I am not a happy clapper, just not an idiot antagonising others on the forum by endlessly speculating on MP getting the boot. Get a grip, I certainly dont want to go back to the days of Ruperts endless hiring and firing!
-
Yet again the normal village idiots are out namely Glasgow and Bazza. We have lost a lot of games recently, on occassions only playing one of the first choice back five and missing Big Vic but that is no excuse for you. Not many teams outside of the top four could cope with the injury crisis we have had to endure. Today we have simply got done by a very good side who will quite possibly be champions at the end of the season.

Jos is simply dreadful and a total liability. Should not be anywhere near the first team again. A good transfer window would simply be getting shot of him!
-
At least Townsend is injured or he truly would tear Foxy a new one! I had a bet on saints 3-1 with jayrod to score first. Not that confident now.
-
Yoshi should have closed down but what a strike. Great finish!
-
Get in Ossie.Stick that in your pipe Alps and simply shut up your whining!
-
Lovren gave the ball away, Cork gets it back and gives it away again. BUT again Yoshi is to blame as he watches the ball soar over him. Still more goals to come yet though.
-
Got a couple of quid on 3-1 Saints win. Think if we get one we will get three, need that first one early though, pen hopefully.
-
One silly mistake by Yoshi and we are one down. Other than that we have been all over them. Major disappointment this evening has been some of the trolling w##kers on here tonight. This used to be a good footballing forum, not simply a site for some loser to get their pointless kicks.

Mina Rzouki on twitter..... @Minarzouki: According to TMW exclusive, Southampton have set Ramirez' price at €20m & willing to accept the payment in 4 instalments to faciliate sale

Like it or not, we are in a title race. To be sat in third, three points off first, after 11 games means we are involved. I agree that we are lacking depth outside of the first team squad, highlighted at Sunderland in the cup. BUT we don't have to play twice a week against Europe's finest as the other top teams do. Arsenal have Marseille just a few days after us, Man City have Bayern Munich a few days after us, Chelsea have Basel just before us. They will need to rotate their teams too for all theses games. I can understand why some fans are struggling to get their head around what is going on here. I have followed Saints since my first match in the early 80's and experienced games being given away and endless disappointments but I cant recall a Saints team with such a positive mentality or amount of ability. The days of chucking away three goal leads and gifting 90th minute winners are gone. This new team believes and so should we. I remember the headlines on the back page of The Express in 84 after we beat Notts County 3-1 with Steve Moran getting two. The headline read.. SAINTS ARE IN THE ELITE ! We are back there now, lets enjoy it!

Very poor form Big Vic but would rather he makes that mistake and learns from it when we are 3-0 up. Time to turn it on again now.
-
I think we could well go on to get six! Other prediction is Curtis Davies red card.

1-0Morgan

Do you need to tell us this several times a day? You don't like him or rate him. Fair enough. Can we not just assume that this mindset will remain until you inform us otherwise.

Think this will be a stroll today. 4-0

I am not disappointed and I did watch the whole streaming game. I was mainly thinking: a) None of our important key players can get injured b) Look how far we've come from the days of Jos, Cork, Lee, Fox, Yoshi, Kelvin D c) The club doesn't feel that this is the primary focus for this season, I'll trust them. d) It would have been difficult to win the cup with Chelsea in the next round and Man City, Man Utd still in the draw. e) We've got a lot of attention seeking drama queens on this forum!
-
Chelsea in the next round with a second XI consisting of Mata, Etoo, De Bruyne, Ramirez, Mikel, Willian, Cahill to name but a few. Great chance for the final, thats arrogance!. I think this merely shows how far we have come from having Jos and Fox and Cork as shoe ins for the first team. Not fussed at all by the defeat. I think judging by the team put out it its clear to see this cup wasn't NC and MP's priority. Maybe they have got slightly grander ideas else in mind.

I am sure those travelling up were aware of the possibility it may not be our first team on display and still made the decision to travel. No need for sympathy, only admiration!
-
Reasonable first half, not looked too troubled. Chambers good, Reed promising. Seem to bit the long diagonal to lthe left wing quite often. Not bad considering we've got our 2ns XI versus their first!

Would love to see Gaston have a blinder tonight just to show the whinging few that he is a player.
