  1. Good riddance. I was more than happy to give him a go but after the Forest game it was clear he wasn’t up to the job. What I hated more was the bullshit and arrogance. Front footed and aggressive my arse.
  2. So no Caletta Carr, ABK, Djenepo or Orsic tomorrow as they are all playing today in the B match against Sheffield Utd.
  3. I can’t see how he will attract or tempt any player to join us. He has no real track record of developing kids and no experience at a high level. Admittedly, as Lampard and Gerard have shown, top level playing experience doesn’t always mean good management ability. I just feel that a footballer has maybe ten years of peak footballing time and would you want to waste two or three of them working for a manager and team that may well make you a worse player.
  4. We are going be left in the championship with a load of second rate signings that we can’t ship out to anybody. A 750k full back from the footballing Mecca of Luton will not keep us up. Not convinced we will get to 30 points under Jones.
  5. Utter shite. Could have easily been three down had they not missed their absolute sitters. I’m not convinced it’s the players, it’s simply the manager. The movement, passing and shape of Newcastle far eclipses what we offer. We’ve got a Yeovil player teaching Yeovil football. No hope till he goes.
  6. I just don’t understand the logic in appointing him. I was happy to give him a chance but he has shown that he has no tactical knowledge whatsoever. We are playing long balls to no target man or diagonal hopeful punts. The bloke is way out of his depth in the Prem and he knows it. At one one point in the second half the camera panned to him and Cohen I think. They both didn’t have a f**king clue. Total shambles. As for transfers, why would anybody want to come to Southampton under his management and “brand” of football.
  7. Maybe we’ve been spoilt with the WC but this is shocking. The system is confused with nothing going through the middle, just out to the wings and then back inside for a long ball. It takes our players two touches to get the ball under control. As for AMN, I just don’t see what our staff see in him. The bloke is stealing a living.
  8. Pathetic. There is no structure or processes when we’ve got the ball. Nobody seems to know where to be and we just keep giving the ball away. Get some of the young lads on with a bit of pace and desire. Aside from Lyanco and Bazunu, none of them seem to care.
  9. Yet more hoofball from Bazunu out to Aribo on the right, for the flick on to nobody.
  10. Get him out. The black box or whatever we use now must have half dozen of possible replacements lined up already. We can’t waste more matches with this joker.
  11. It’s the hope that kills you. Hoped for a performance like the Chelsea game …… got one of the worst performances of Ralph’s tenure and there are plenty to choose from. Can’t believe that we rely on an 18yr old Lavia to run the game and without him we are lost. I now believe Ralph has to go. That was simply dreadful.

  13. Just chucked a fiver on us to finish top 4 at 250-1!
  14. So sad to hear this. Such a good player. Remember going to one of my first Saints games at Portman Road in December 1984 and was able to go into the changing room before the match and meet all the players. He scored the only goal of the game in the second half. After that, seven year old me was well and truly hooked on Saints forever.
  15. Quite like it. Don’t get all the bold and brave stuff but nice to have a unique shirt. Whatever they design they’ll never win. Traditionalists like it old school and simple, other folk prefer something a bit more modern and unique. Would still have Hummel over any other companies everyday of the week.
  16. Gonna be some six pointers at the end of the season!!
  17. It’s just about taking your chances. We had some decent chances but didn’t convert. Not convinced by Adam Armstrong yet. He may well get into good positions but he just doesn’t strike the ball cleanly. I understand it will take time to adjust but technically he looks poor.
  18. Djenepo has been dreadful. He offers more defensively than going forward. A very poor man’s Papa Waigo!! As for the rest, it’s going ok. AA needs this season to acclimatise, just as Che did. Bring on Romeu, Broja and Redmond. Take off AA, Diallo, Djenepo.
  19. When I try to sign up to saintsplayer I have no pricing outline or sign up option. Do I need a VPN?? I’ve no idea about these things.
  20. I think a lot of the Torino fans were slightly aggrieved when he played against them while on loan and celebrated when Torino got beaten. Tricky to come back from that.
  21. Translated for a local Torino rag…. The grenade leadership, these days, rains criticism, heavy and in rapid succession. The blows that exalt the crowd disappear; Sirigu and Nkoulou, for the overwhelming majority of the fans, were not replaced properly; we would limit ourselves, reasonably to widespread opinion, to collect the scraps of the other clubs, sometimes not even the big ones. However, when an operation, albeit outgoing, goes beyond the rosiest expectations, it should be emphasized. It would in fact be absurd, or at least not very prudent, to contest the circumstances of the sale of Lyanco at the top of the Toro house. Assuming that what seems to be certain news turns out to be effective, the seven million euros that Southampton is ready to pay into the coffers of via Arcivescovado for the 24-year-old Serbo-Brazilian, bought by Toro in the summer of 2017, from San Paolo, for the same amount, they are a remarkable treasure, in times of proverbial lean cows like the present ones. Remarkable especially considering the almost always disappointing performance, alas, of the central defender born in 1997, except for some flashes here and there, seen above all during his stay on loan at Bologna, at the court of that Sinisa Mihajlovic who had wanted him in Turin four years ago, along the second half of 2018/19. The chances to prove up to Lyanco were not lacking. Three-man defense, four-man defense, from central more like an old free, free (no pun intended) to set up and climb - ball and chain or not, - as a scorer with license to disengage and work in synergy with midfielders and external. Many, too many amnesia, and an efficacy on the offensive front too occasional to be able to act as a worthy counterpart. Seven million for the player seen over the last four years, objectively, is a very fat figure. And, if indeed the operation will be of this magnitude, the great management, at least in this case, will undoubtedly be worthy of praise. I hope he proves them all wrong and in a season or two he is worth £25 million.
  22. Had a brief look and can’t see prices or where to sign up. Just cancelled my sky sports subscription after the Lions tour so would like something for the new season.
  23. Remain for both.
  24. I still don’t blame Ralph. The players are simply not good enough.
  25. I am now at the stage that I couldn’t care less. Moved to Southampton because I supported them, had a season ticket for many years but don’t get to go anymore. Living in the West Country, I’m now more of a Chief than a Saint. Better game, better fans, better atmosphere. Sad but football is no longer the game I grew up loving. It’s now just money and mercenaries, and a bit of racism too.
