I'm not convinced the appointment of Strachan would be the best appointment. He is a good manager but his teams are effective by simply being fitter than the opposition. I don't think he is a master tactician who would be able to compete at the higher levels. If we are looking to build for the future then we should surely be looking for a manager who will be here for the next ten or fifteen years.
I'm not too sure who really fits the bill. It would be nice to see Shearer possibly but is it right to take a gamble on an unproven manager. I know he not the most attcking manager and he's been out of the game for a while but George Graham is the kind of boss I'd like. Well respected, proven, authoritative and knowledgable. I just think our squad needs a little more discipline.
