I think five games is a bit soon to judge. Many on here were slating him for playing five at the back and are now slating him for playing a four. For me the problem is the distribution from the CB pairing. Too often the ball is passed to the full back which then limits the options, either back inside or down the line. I’m hoping Jansen, replacing Downes, can become that player to show for the ball and provide an option. I know Still wants width and wingers but it doesn’t work going straight from full back to winger. If you’re just gonna keep the ball wide, it works better with a Bridge / Marsden set up where the MF tucks in and the FB bombs on. All pointless though if you are whacking crosses into Archer, Armstrong or Fraser.

We pass the ball to the full back and then it’s too tight up the line. Surely we can pass the ball from FB into one of the two midfielders, who can then release the wingers for them to run on to. Too many players are getting the ball at a standstill, facing their own goal. Limits the options they have.

Get Downes off and the German lad on.

On a positive note, it’s been a shocker but it’s still 0-0. Wee man needs more of the ball against the full back who’s on a yellow. Where he tires, get Robinson or Scienza on. I’d be tempted to get Big Ross on for Archer if we are gonna persist with this long ball. At least he can hold it up and bring Azaz and others into the game. Only player really playing is Shea Charles.

Can’t really spot where the extra attacking player is seeing as we’ve gone to three at the back. We’ve just got to be patient. They’re doing plenty of time wasting.

Can’t send you a DM as you can’t receive them. Happy to sell it to you but the transfer info needs to be in before midnight this evening or it’s a no go.

Frustrating that you can’t exchange tickets when a member. After having an op cancelled twice, it’s happening in about half hour. Means Sunday will be too soon for me. Not sure how the transfer works but if there is anybody looking to buy a ticket with the right criteria.. Itchen 8.

I wouldn’t be against selling THB for anything more than we paid for him. I’m not convinced that he’s a quality Premier league CB. He may grow into one in time but may be best to cash in now and reinvest.

I think Stewart and Downes are going to be prolific with two “white paint on their boots” wingers playing. Looking at Fellows assists compilation from last year, a lot of them were step over, gain a yard and flight a lofted crosses to the back post to attack. Stewart is 50-1 to be Championship top scorer, may have a fiver on it!! Most importantly, we are losing so much of the scar tissue from the Martin era. We have an attack that will be positive and drive forward, rather than a pass back to retain possession. I still have some reservations about the defence arsing around it with too much but Still will be onto that. It was audible the other night at Norwich when he was whistling across to Macca to go long and not bugger about.

Really hope Edward’s isn’t off on a permanent. He has made the occasional mistake but can play RB, CB or DM. Great potential.

Would have liked Stewart for Arma but otherwise, as expected.

That’s one perspective. I prefer to be a little more positive and appreciate he has made us £40+ million that we wouldn’t have got if he hadn’t come back from Chelsea. If he is a success, we will get more profit. He wasn’t signing a new deal so surely this is the best for all parties. the key is where we spend the money. No point frittering it away on players with four year contracts who can’t cut it in the Prem.

THB needs to come off, he’s treading water out there.

A decent half at times, bit worrying at others. After last season any passing around at the back raises my heart rate!! I’d get Wellington off for Manning at HT and maybe Arma for Archer at 65 mins if he’s still not doing a lot.

In fairness to Ronnie Edward’s, you can’t blame him if he is left in trouble by somebody else’s poor pass. He’s just taking the hit for somebody else’s error. The yellow tonight was down to BBD. I think he will start to show the quality he has got, particularly with the ball at his feet.
