Must be age as I'm with both of you on this. My interest in football has been steadily waning for a few years - not because of Saints fortunes, but because of the whole money thing. Its tough to identify with players these days, especially in the top divisions.

Better & cheaper to buy Pompey & close it down IMHO!

Sad news, I really enjoyed their Saints coverage. In terms of music I'm an old f*rt so much prefer "The Coast" on 106FM anyway. Its all 70s rock & acoustic country.

There is absolutely NO way Lowe would ever have said anything like this. Its laughable frankly, whatever one's view of the man is.

I couldn't agree with you more, fellow Romsey-ite! The great "boycott Lowe" movement fundamentally backfired. Yes Lowe went but he went because of the administration & one of the key causes of this was the "lost" revenues at home games because of the boycott.

One of my all-time favourites for Saints. I too shed a tear during his farewell lap of honour. My sone has that lovely poster of Marian, Beatts & KD on his bedroom wall & it still raises goosebumps when I see it - what a great strikeforce we had then.

The mere idea of Dave Merrington "sorting out" our finances makes me tremble with fear! Nice man, average broadcaster, questionable manager but NO financial wizzard......
