Assuming that the sly nature of Administrators did not know all along that the Swiss were the only real game in town, and would stick around.... but allowing an extra month of fees... surely that never happens ;-) - certainly not.

Is it just me that has to wonder at the 'strategy' of the Trust from the begining? Will say it again - Chinney has everyone by the scrotal sac - 'I am a secure, I will get my money' - As such the trust and its advisors seemed to come up with an approach that could not be more boll acks if it came wraped in a soft leather sac and was swinning between the hind legs of a donkey. In these situations, where one party holds all the strings and is pretty clear what he wants (his money back) - you dont try and beat him. You try and work with him to to find a way they can take control and pay him what is owed over a number of years - even if that means languishing in L2 to ensure payments are made and no further debt is accumulated. Chinney may be a complete bastard about it, and have high demands, but would recognise that getting more back over a number of years is better than getting less in a liquidation sale - Those PPs are likely to go to direct to the football creditors, or should do, so not sure how he could trouser that unless he jhas his own administrator in charge, and that is the one blessing the trust have - although given that this cash is heading straight out the club one way or another, not sure they should be that chuffed. ... all in all a truely inept strategy - one which has now cost them even more cash... based on a flawed financial model that was naive from teh strat, thinking they could get away with paying teh football creditors 2m in stead of the 8m owed.... the rest is just farce.
-
So, if as rally boy so eleoquently states, there is only one thing keeping them alive.... I am not sure when they actually get the PP cash - did they not get 4 mil earlier and a second 4 mil in feb? and is there a final installment in the summer... please explain.. but anyway lets assume they have 8 m left to come... problem is there seem to be even more folks now interested in feeding from the remaining carcus...as I understand it, those currently owed... 1. Chiiney - with a charge floating or otherwise upto 17 mil 2. Football creditors 8 mil 3. The old geezer Kanu 2-3 mil 4. The latest HNW bridging loan providers - 1 mil 5. The poor unsecured creditors - 100mil (new CVA can only be initiated if the club is actually bought out of admin?) 6. PFK - whatever they are still owed from their excellent administration work - 12 months and 2 mil in fees sucked out of a struggling L1 club on ever decreasing income... excellent work Agent Birch 7. Tax man - they must be owed something - its the pompey way .... not quite sure the PST pledges converted to date will cover that, especially as the HNW cash has already been injected into the club just to fund continuing losses.... ...Mr Farmary, should explain how yesterday's court ruling was a 'victory' - a victory would have been immediate liquidation, to allow them to build a pheonix club whilst they still have some converted share cash to fund it.... but suspect the HNW property developers might not be so keen to support the outfit if the land assset is no longer part of the equation... and those who have converted may want tehir money back - a clear case where a club needed to be liquidate early to avoid further losses adding to the creditor insult, and allowing those who are genuine supporters to build soimething new they can have pride in.... sadly egos, false pride and obsession with their 'glorious' past prevented any common sense being applied.... feck em

TRUST, some advice for you - Chinney is NOT going away, nor will he give up ' I will get my money, I am secure' Secondly, despite it being close to criminal the creditors seem to have accepted around 500K the 0.02p in the pound.... Work with CHINNEY - its the only way - agree to buy the club for a quid, get out of Admin and stop ****ing money into the pockets of and admin - come to a settlement figure with chinney maybe agree on 8mil or so. Agree he will get half of that in cash on parachute payent, the rest of which will go to football creditors - agree a SOLID repayment plan for the remianing 4mil or so to ex players and rental purchase scheme with chinney for his remining cash - say 400k a year for 10 years - bite the fricken bullet. Its the only way - see this as a LONG TERM plan and stop dreaming of rapid promotion and slleeping giant nonsense, you know its bull, and only an inferiort complex - real football fans dont give a sheidt about the 'size' of tehir club relative to anyone else rivals or otherwise - they support and are proud of it. Get some credibilty and self respect back and you have a future. Delusion and dreaming and lack of self awareness fuelled by the uber numpty in the media will lead to nothing more than liquidation.

Newcastle target Lallana rumour in Daily Mirror
Frank's cousin replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Playr 'value' is a misleading oncept anyway - player only worth what someone willing to pay v what someone willing to sell for. I suspect in this case, if rumour is true, What Newcastle woul be willing to pay will fall way short of what saints would be willing to sell him for.... which is all that matters really. As to whether NC would do business with 'Pards', answer is probably yes if the price was right from Saints perspective. -
The Southampton Transfer Committee...
Frank's cousin replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
My twopenneth is that ALL clubs, whether managers, committees or the fricken tea Doris has input , get some right and some wrong - Even SAF buys some fricken sheidt at times. No one would be worried about any of our signings if we were sitting comfortably in the top half, with those that helped get us there being hailed as brilliant transfers, whilst thsoe that had not featured having been forgotten. Yet because struggled to find a blanaced side and fit in some of our new uns, the 'mistakes' stand out - even though its clear some were punts on the future. Ultimately, clubs that let the manager have control, end up with bloated squads that no one can afford as new ones come in and add their faves - The continental model seems to work for most clubs abroad - the manager has to work with the players provided and show how good he is - need a defender, teh club goes out and get one, or better still looks to promote from the development squads. cant believe that in this country we still have so many managers (and fans) who seem to believe it should be their decision - they are paid to coach and manage - to improve players and get the best from them - if they cant do that, they should not be in the job. Too often when managers fail they say its because they could not bring in the players they wanted - which is up there with the dog ate my homework inlame excuses. What should happen is greater honesty and collaboration - with managers able to make an honest appraisal of how much they can improve players in the squad, and what that improvement will mean REALISICALLY in terms of where they can finish - the Chairman then needs to accept that opinion,a nd either accept taht 15th is the best we can do, of get the cheque book out if he expects a greater return. -
Maybe the down side of getting into bed with property developers is that Chinney may well point out that should they acquire FP for say 1.5 mil... what is to stop them moving to another site, getting planning permission for deveklopment and hey presto they are siting on land worth a darn site more than what they paid chinney for it? No idea and this whole charge on the ground thing is too complex for me...

The Saints matchday experience now compared to 1962

I suspect many might just be getting a reminder from the wife/sister that Christmas is coming... On a more serious note - I would have had a great dela of respect for any fan group that said - they were looking to start again - use the money raised without the HNW individuals and take the club on as fans only and just pay rent to chinney for fratton - or agree it as a 'hire-purchase deal' rent at 500k for 20 years and then its theirs - forget lofty ambitions and promotions, but focus on rebirth, stong financila principles and survival with fans at the heart of the club - they should have offered shares at £100 or multiples with each member only getting one vote, but with the a buy back scheme available after say 5 years should someone which to get their money back... As I see it, their problem is not the principle, but their unrealistic ambition and expectation and enetering a cort case over the price of FP seems a ludricrous waste of money - All chinney wants is his money - do a fricken deal with him and move on.

The Saints matchday experience now compared to 1962

Great nostalgia fest, but we should remmebre its not 'Saints' that have driven this change, but Football has changed as someone posted above - you change with it or you end up being an amateur league has been, and our nostalgia would all be about looking back at the 'glory days'. Sure its not for everyone, and there is a great deal about teh modern game and its clubs that leaves us hankering for days gone by, but there are positives as well should we chose to acknowledge them. -
My question... is the interest rate being charged by the loan company in £ terms greater or less than the proposed discount on STs for 'shareholders'? - Is there in effect a monitory advantage at all to being a shareholder? (given you can never get your money back).... as Far as I can tell, they have not released details of the proposed level of ST discount or for how long it will run... but I guess they they hopefull of 'fooling, all the people' all the time' - something taht must only be possible in Portsmouth? .... or maybe the simple truth that you cant 'fool all the people, al the time' is the raeson for the comparatively low take up of the cracking offer for a club with a 200,000 fan base? Or am I being harsh?

Not quite sure why thsie needs to be the case... the calculation and total entitlement can be centralised under the 'universal' credit approach - nothing to stop a % of that that needs to passed on to landlords not being transfereed directly as far as I can see... or am I missing something (government incompetance perhaps?)

Liverpool post match interview comments from Adkins???
Frank's cousin replied to Spudders's topic in The Saints
According to R5L, in teh second half, we started playing and were much better... in game reports siggesting Liverpool were ropey... make of that what you will, but Unless we know what NA says in private to the squad, we have no idea whether his public comments are just naive or clever. Thing is FF, are we the only fans that seem determined to see the worst in things all the time? Club silence is seen as bad, NA being guarded is bad... etc - whats with the the desperate appetite for 'information' anyway? Is it necessary? I suspect that its only because we want it to dispell myth and rumour - which ca be done by ignoring myth and rumour... 2 things that matter - performance/results and finances. The first we will judge ourselves - some will be realistic, others always disappointed - the second we will need to wait until the accounts are published (the advantage of former PLC status was access to way more detail, but thats another story)... in the interim, we have seen periodic quality from a young an inexperienced side, survive this season and the next could be pretty interesting. Chin up ;-) -
Liverpool post match interview comments from Adkins???

Hapy that he s 'boring' and gives nothing away - compared to when Redflaps was here and his post match interviews were a combination of blaming the players for not being good enough and other BS - publically slating players whose confidence was already at alow ebb... worked a trick, yes! Believe he is being more than professional in keeping emotions at bay so close post mach - we know he likes to review and analyse and work with the squad on understanding where we went wrong - some forget he and the squad are still learning. We have shown we have quality, but lack consistency of concentration and application, and the quality of the opposition as well as 3 games in a week will expose us when not at 100%. Dissapointment is always relative to expectation. A dose of realism about where we are and how much work is still to be done is not a bad thing. And NA's refusal to go into deatils about failures or mistakes in public is a good thing IMHO. Assuming that is because he is ignorant of the failings is naive in my opinion. -
I agrred with both your posts, but would add that there is some rational IF the minimum price means more folk say sod the supermarkets and go to the pub - saving the nations heritage in some way... too may pubs closeing every week as they imply cant compete with the cheap supermarket booze?

Got to be careful to differentiate between free speech and the protection of privicy. Law can be in place that provides for both - allowing the free reporting of information that is genuinely in the public interest (not who is screwing who) - yet protecting the right to privicy - not naming names etc until folk are convicted would be a start - not tapping missing kids mobile phones would be another... letting people have a holiday without topless pics from 1000mm lense pictures...

Oh dear Mr Vettel might not be champion after all.
Frank's cousin replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in General Sports
True, but its interesting that folk 'forget' that Senna and Prost both did this to each other - with Senna neary pushing Prost into the pit wall at 200mph - which was the end of any mutual understanding - yet neither was German so dont get laballed as nasty... -
8 points from the last 12 - will take that form, especially as we were obviously tired.

... for some reason .... that may include throwing things at the crowd....

The Champions League dream could get a little bit more realistic
Frank's cousin replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
Remember before Platini was elected president of UEFA, he was all for ditching both competition and reinstating a single nowckout format of the old European cup, but with far more places availble to each country - in fact almost open entry, like the FA club with all sides from top leagues allowed in... top 6 or so from each country would be seaded and only join in in Round 3 etc, and prelim qualifying round s for the lower ranked sides - one of random draw with home and away fixtures introduced say when down to the last 16... Thought it was a cracking idea, but dismissed by the rich clubs who live in fear of an early knockout in an away fixture to Maddogs of Baku or something.... -
Feck Wow! - where do I sign? I just cant wait to hand over £1000 before Christmas - best if I loan it and get into debt to get the pin badge... notice there is noway of 'selling your share to 'liquidate your asset' so to speak (which is an inteesting turn of phrase wher pompey are concerned) - so I guess its not really a share, but a gift and as the HNW individuals will probably own 51%+ they can later do as they please... top value at pompey Tesco
