  1. Would you care to point out where I have 'doubted' this article? more BS from you Kraken, you are slipping - the need to resort to insults is a sign of running out of ideas.
  2. 'meltdown'? not sure what that really is, but getting pished off with constant moronic wind up happens to all eventually. On some occasions you dont even need to have had a glass or 2...
  3. Would like to see where I 'trumpet positive news from roof tops' or even state I believe it... but since when did that matter... - The point is a very simple one - If there is positive rumours on here such as big name signings, its interesting, but until it happens its just rumour, harmless as it has no negative impact...no need to spend ages dismissing it and jumping all over it because it means didly squat apart form generate a bit of excitement - which some enjoy (except those determined it seems not to enjoy anything)... rumours of disharmoney, negative issues etc, by their very nature can be divisive, and cause trouble, so its only natural that if you spread them you will be questioned more about them. Anyone sober or otherwise can see that is a simple concept.
  4. Speculating, that maybe the members of siad committee had roles - would not be beyond the realms of plausibility that Adkins was to to find a keeper given his background ...?
  5. You really can be an obnoxious arse - you are dangerous, couple of glasses of wine becomes downing a bottle/drunk - strange how you get your kicks. There is a difference between what I 'want' to believe and what I 'do' believe - wanting to appreciate positive news is a bad thing in your twisted book? There is a story in the mirror on which I have commented, so just go back and read if you are really interested on on my take and not merely pleasuring yourself trying to wind folk up. Is your ego really that fragile that it needs constant massaging from folk on a message board?
  6. Dont disagree, but the the ex banker and old failure together with the manager have delivered 2 promotions...
  7. After a few days of making more astute observations you seem to regressed back into posting undignified responses to wind up....
  8. er... you joining the twisting words game too? You guys seem to enjoy making this stuff up, not sure why... big fail on the comprehension stakes Kracken
  9. Oh give it braek and go back and read my posts on that subject - you clearly failed in understanding what was being said the first time so at least refrain from twisting words amd making up sheidt to suit your agenda... that is pretty low even by your standards. You know full well my post was NOT about being happy clappy, but about how its more important to have evidence when rumours are negative because of the potential fall out of negative rumours. Positive rumours have no impact, and if you chose to believe them may make you feel better but that is all no fall out - how that leads you to jump to your conclusion is beyond me - you simply seem incapable of understanding this issue.
  10. As is typical in most other European countries - club signs the players, manager uses them... Only really UK left where managers are desperate to hang on to major input in transfer ploicy... a legacy of the brown envelope perhaps?
  11. Thing is we have clear evidence of the OUTCOME, but not on the method - again more rumour that it was just some ruthless decision, did not speak to Adkins etc... I have no idea whether any of this is factually correct or not, and would like to think its not and that whatever went on was at least handled professionally and with courtesy - Does it make me wrong to hope/wish for this? I cant see how hoping NC dealt with this in a better way than rumour suggests is such a bad thing - Its as if some WANT to believe every bad thing that is alleged - I just never understood what there is to be gained from that. Too often with this club, some fans have been so preoccupied with trawling and slinging muck - for what purpose? I just dont get it. Its as if they expect the chairman of a football club to some sort of whiter than white angelic pope like figure and they are desperate to catch him having a ****.... Chairmen by their very nature are NEVER going to live up to the 'ideal' if we are looking for them to be able to deliver progress and success - fan friendly rhetoric may win friends but as we have seen in the past does little to deliver results. NC is doing it his way - and there will be fallout - victims of a desire to deliver. Nige did great, did his job, got us promoted and now the next phase begins. If it works as it did when Nige was appointed, then great as Nige can and should still be proud of the part he played in our growth, if not I am sure there will be plenty who will say i told you so...
  12. I doubt that content canme from anyone officially at the club... Too negative from a club's perspective. Always amazes me thi whole transfer thing. EVERY single Club get some right, some wrong - whether all done by one person, the manager or committee - and the fact remains it makes feck all difference who signed who when it works out, and its a brilliant signing, yet the mud slinging is inevitable when its does not... not really a big deal....
  13. Dont think anyone would disagree... what baffles me is why NA was NOT more involved - If NC is now saying he wants a Committee with manager involved etc, was their a lack of trust in Adkins ability to pick players, or maybe simply not aiming high enough?
  14. Well maybe when you have RA in your hands your typing may get worse too... So do you believe the article or not - clearly states a 'TOP CLASS' keeper that NA did NOT want to sign - its either correct or made up... or do you just want to pick and choose which bits add up to support your version?
  15. Ssshhh Turks making a bit of a mess of that one, must be kept quiet.
  16. Please.. at least get your facts straight, I dont think you will find any post of mine where I say Nigel is in full control of transfers... If the content of this article is accurate, then teh level of disconnect between Nigel and NC on this is surprizing, but NIge not wanting a keeper seems a bit of a mistake...
  17. True - grab a cold one, chill out and take your time
  18. I think the 2016 ocntract was there to allow him the 3 years to get back to the prem. Dont think a mid year sacking was planned, more no chance of getting the man wanted in th summer - with NA then given a chance, but results not as NC wanted. Gues the ultimate question is always... Given the squad we have - are we above or below in the table where we should be?
  19. I am not convinced that NC is 'Trigger happy' - what does that mean anyway? All Chairma would be 'trigger happy' under certain circumstances - gross misconduct for example. I think what NC is doing is recognising a few things - Back in L1 when they took over they invited in Gordon Strachan for a chat - apparently to sound him out on potential managers who would be able to handle L1/CCC etc. What REALLY happened between Cirtese and Pards, I have no idea, but something did that meant a change was necessary - He took his time and we lost a few games but Nig who many thought 'who' or WTF? was identified as someone who knew the Football league and had a string record of promotion from L1 with a club with a much smaller budget - Does anyone really believe that Cortese would have seen Nigel as someone who would still be around once we got to the prem? As stated in other posts here, Nigel WAS given the time - he was given a 3 year deal when we entered the CCC or thereabouts but he did it in one - for which he deserves a lot of credit, but was also backed financially. From our and most onlookers perspective he hadearned his chance and I was happy that he was given it, but NC would not allow sentiment to change his plan and so for me its now seems clear the writing was always on the wall - it was part of the plan. Turks may be correct in that NC looked at the way we were outclassed in pre season and decided it was time... but could not get the man he wanted ? Afterall, I know we always dismiss preseason as just prep, but its also just prep for thsoe we were playing and it was not that great to be honest. Many advocate that slow and steady incremental progress is what getting to grips with the prem is all about and point to the sides that have a good season post promotion, only to fail the second time around - as the way to go. NC does not think so, for whatever reason he is looking to drive things forward rapidly and therefore has no time for Nige to learn and gain the experience that I believe one day will see him at a higher level. Becaise NIge was just so darn nice and decent and had integrity - a refreshing likelable, intelligent bloke, the decision stirs greater emotions. Had he been someone we grudgingly repected but disliked, would we have been half as angry/upset under the same circumstances? Sure the timing seems at odds with a desire to ensure we stay up - given that new man will need to rapidly get up to speed, but I suspect that for NC its simple - 'relegation is not an option' - the tools (players) - are sufficient to keep us up - (with one or two additions) and so he probably feels its low risk. So far he has been pretty spot on with the way the club has progressed, despite seemingly not giving a sheidt about customer service) - the focus is all on the progress. ..and before some jump in say 'yeah so he can sell and get a shed load of cash' - remember there is also significant infrastructure investment going on - which is a legacy for the future whether NC is here long term or not.
  20. ...or if he wants to take the European model to its ultimate, would it not be a great way to raise money by offering say 49% to fans to buy as shares? Thing that is so often forgotten when fans start to criticise 'business' people or 'not football people' who own clubs is they often forget a fundemental thing - if they are really just in it to max out the money they can make, then the club MUST be successful - it has to max its revenue and that that comes through success. So the fans may have no say, but they benefit from that success. I suspect that for Marcus, it was the challenge rather than the money - and for NC it's possibly a combination of the challenge, the money and delivering Marcus' dream. Now we may not think he has a cat in hells chance, we may believe the 'plan' is naive', we may be mocked for even contemplating such a plan, and we may dislike the strategy NC employs to get there.... BUT I Tell you this. I would much rather go along for the ride (subject to us not getting into a financial hole) and give it a punt (even with NCs oft bizzarre strategy) than settle for survival at best each year, another club that should be grateful for its place at the trough and should not dare to raise its head above the drop zone... Yes its sad we see good people like NIgel apparently cast aside, but he will not be destitute or without a job for long and fans are hypocrits in many ways with many quick to call for a sacking when things are not going well - patience we dont have, yet we expect it from the chairman? No give me the the rollercoaster anytime - afterall we want to be the best we can... and be entertained.
  21. You are a God mate - a seer... or something - please note on that occasion, I did not dismiss your foresight, merely presented an additional POV - money that talks.. Certainly it could be argued that Pino... has a bigger profile in Sothern Europe/internationallly than Adkins, and this may have played a part in the decision, sure
  22. I cometh with the Watchtopwer to spread enlightenment... or maybe not. Seriously, think you miss the point - it has nothing to do with objectivity - positive stories ae taken with a pinch of salt, because it matters not if they are true or not - they do NO harm Negative as above can have harmful consequences so it is simply a matter of due diligence to expect some form of validation. Turks, no one is expecting a source revelation, but how much you beleive and post will depend on previous form - accuracy of previous insider knowledge and often its does not take a brain the size of planet to recognize WUM or posters with a mission/agenda... so you filter. Its not a case of not wanting to hear bad stroies, but more a case of wanting to sure they are accurate - and that is the problem with boards such as this - there is no way to validate them.
  23. That assumes he was sacked purly based on his performanace - I dont think he was - I believe as with Pards, that there was always a plan to replace Adkins once promoted - and maybe NCs biggets mistake was not doing it as planned in the summer - either he let sentiment get in the way or could not get the man he was after.
  24. Or he belives it should be possible to coach a better/organised back line play - afterall, look at the impact Redknap has had on the the defensive record at QPR...
