I ike the lad. but clear case of lack of experience showing at the moment - Lambo may not have had prem experience, but different game and age/experience always meant he could play his gme at thsi level - just sad for him that he's 30+ by the time he got his chance. JRods time will come am sure of it.

nah slight grin... but probably thinking Lambo should have go one at least - and JRod looked a bit lost out there - hopefully MP will get the ca=oaches working on him - he needs confidence and also looks too eager, needs to be more measured, look up and give himself time.

we look good in a 4231 but would like to see morgan add a bit more creativity to his role (which will come with age/experience) as can see him devloping into a Schweinsteiger like general in the 2. with Lallana, Ramierez and punch as the 3, shaw and clyne, we have a nice looking side, but as others have remarked we still lack a bit of depth, although Guly had a good night. Problem is, real strngth in depth is always difficult to come by unless in the top 4 -6, where players will go to be part of a CL side even if only playing 20 games a season... no decent players want to do that at a lower half club, so we will need to be patient on that score.

Well fair play to him, nothing worse than a sheila next to you board stiff and yaking about shoes and shopping all through the game.

First half I think we did... did not give Everton too much space especially Fillaini - second half we struggled a bit as the pace caught up with us. I think we will see more of an evolution than revolution, building on what Nige provided but with perhaps more refinement? but will need 5-6 games before we start to see any disernable impact.

Good pro job overall - Nigel would be proud - proud of the players in being professional and doing their bit - and proud of the fans for recognising what was most important - supporting the players... sadly for Nige, Mrs C thought MP better looking and so case closed, NC made the right decision

As with Lowe, I am not a 'supporter' of the man, but a supporter of the ideas and plan - just do not think its right to assume he is a total plankwhen we only have one side of the story - like I said, who wants to be judged by the worst they have done in their lives especially when you then add up the 'not plankish' behaviour and compare the two....

oh and another thing - I dont have hero and am not defending him - if he was indeed banned for bad behaviour (although you dont know the details) - the point your are still failing to grasp is that 1 incident versus 999 odd is not a convincing stat to conclude he's not very nice - be honest - have you ever behaved badly in your life, any skeletons in your closet that you rightly dont want to be forever judged on?

Slight problem with this. You are falling into the classic distort the probabilty/sats to prove a point - mostly used by those the 'spiritualist' game or teh spoon bending watch restarters - I worry about you. How many restaurant meals do you think NC has had in his life - how many restaurants has he been in? Yet you take ONE example, and ONE side of the story and use it as conclusive proof he is not nice .... I could point out that the 99.99% of times he has no doubt eaten in a fine restaurant, had a great night, tipped well and been courteous to all as proof that he is... but I wont as that would not be Proof he was - merely that on 99% of the time he behaves in a certain way in public. Suggest you go back to the drawing board and wipe this FAIL example from the armoury.

At the risk of experiencing a 'Turkish' moment - please answer my question: what would MLT have to do before I am allowed to criticise him? or before you would?

PS - its never about the individual either - whether it be Lowe or Cortese - well it should not be. It should always be about the strategy and whether you buy into it or not.

I will do you the honour of sifting through the shiedt and responding to what is a valid and reaonable point - You are right, football should not be about supporting chief execs - we make heros of great players and managers - fair point and that is as it should be - BUT Matty has moved on from just being an ex hero player, he has a MEDIA role and as such has different responsibilities - and therefore should not be immune to being criticised for what he says in that media role - as we do all the time with the pundits and media 'personalities' - sorry but cant see why taht should comes as such as 'shocking surprise'. The second point is that of the CEO - a role that as you state should not be on most fans agendas/radar. Point is, its impossible for it not to be in football where so much of the clubs on the field fortunes are now linked with the commercial viabilty of the business and its growth stragey (no matter how unrealistic you consider it to be) - it should not be beyond your comprehension that as such many see such things as important and want to understand the rational behind it - and support it if they chose to, either by seeing the logic in it or at the very least recognising that its different to the persistent lack of real ambition shown in the past - the 'budget for 17th' mentality which was so often criticised under Lowe's tenure. I have feck all idea how thsi will work out, whether MP is the right man or whether thsi will turn out to be a step too far by NC. But I am glad that we are NOT accepting of 17th as success - that we will at least try and follow a plan for better things, no matter how difficult that may be - that is afterall a fundemental of sport - the day we accept 17th as success year on year is the day it becomes dull and pointless - when any joy you have in supporting a club dwindles - its not failure, poor form or bad results that kills fans love for the game, but the idea of giving up on anything ever being better or seeing your club not even bother to try - The fact there are fans out there that are prepared to accept that for their clubs, believing prem status is enough, I dont laught at them, I find it sad that they have accepted their station - thats not what being a fan should be about surely?
