  8. By far and away the most balanced and intelligent post on the matter. Its inevitable that when you have such systems some take advantage. As is quite common, possibly fuelled by a political agenda, the system is more heavily criticised than the 'cheats' that exploit it...
  9. To be fair I think he does - but is keen to have a go - which you cant fault as long as he does not loose it and spend like Avram in a brothel...
  10. So does it really come down to how big a club we are as to whether we can ever get to those dizzy heights? Maybe and this is PURE speculation, NC is looking at the champ league from a european perspective - where in many leagues including the likes of Germany, club with 22k capacity can get to teh CL final (think Bayer Leverkusen) - on the back of ont huge cash, but of having 3-4 homegrown stars at once - Ballack et al... and seeing those younger players stay until 22/23? For all the hype, bluster and self promotin of the premier league as the 'bestest in the world' TM - it is sad that there seems liitle hope of clubs ever competing at the top unless accompanied by the Man City billions - even our culture here sees young players leave at 17/18 rather than give it a crack with their home club - 'I want it now' is music to their agent's ears. Cortese has said the key is keeping young talent - he does that and we can do OK - but he had yet to describe how that culture will be kindled and maintained.
  11. Git - I so badly need sleep....
  12. http://www.firstrowsports.eu tends to work OK once you have gotten rid of add pop ups ranging from TV companies to professional ladies - best to click on full screen to avoid them popping up during teh game but depending on volume image quality seems to suffer - and volume may be high given the 'global' Manure fans may be online
  13. Aint you got sleep to get... my excuse is work - all nighter on key proposal - would have finished by 3am but for this fricken forum!
  14. Now I am no expert, but when it comes to showing how the club would be run, structure, board governance and ownership - I would have thought there is NO LEGAL issue... I suspect the reason they are being coy/ellusive on this is that when those who have stumped up £1000 see that the fans equity is ...lets say... a lot less than they have been led to believe, they may not take too kindly to it? Suggests to me that the level of equity of the HNW individuals is currently very fluid in the 'upwards direction', as each month passes, they cough up more cash to keep the trading all of which needs equity conversion... the fans £1000 is meaningless - its not a share, they cant sell it and I doubt they would get anything if the club was ever sold... but the HNW individuals probably would? It's also misleading in that there is nothing to prevent them stating how it would be RUN, just that they dont want to state who would own what and how much... The real surprise is that so many of the pompey faithful appear to have at least enough common sense to recognise a seriously bad deal when they see one...
  15. If we are relegated I am sure some of the best players will be SOLD. The revenue generated from that + parachutes will allow us to build again - because we HAVE been sensible by investing not only in younger players but also know there are other good youngsters coming through the academy... I can see why some are concerned, but I dont at this time believe we have anything to worry about on the financial side of things. Thats not happy clappy BS, it seems pretty much common sense based on what we know.
  16. These case are ALWAYs so fricken frustrating because to normal people its impossible to separate his crime from thsi type of decision - these cases are so emotive given the hiddeousness of his actions.. but a VFTT says, from a legal perspective there has to be a separation. His punishment for his crime was his sentance - irrespective of whether we agree with the length of it. The system failed in respect to the legal requirement for his parole hearing and that is all the ECHR could adjudicate on... Viking, not sure why you are trying make political mileage out of this... the CIVIL SERVICE failed in its job.. I doubt it would have been any different under any Government. Its unpaletable and in our eyes indefensible, but legal decisions can not be made emotionally.
  17. Er No. most fans are asking the question as to why this was needed - and as usual you get a full spectrum of answers ALL based on speculation, from the doom and gloomers to happy clappies - the TRUTH which no one knows 'probably' lies somewher in the middle - its indicative of the club NOT being able to 'readily' get its hands on some cash (how much we do not know) - This could be for a variety of reasons from, we are skint, to the TV rev payments being staged, to any provision left by Markus being in trust or only for infrastructure... and that we had to pay for Gaston up front...all speculation The best guess if being rational, is that NC with his background is unlikely to be playing the 'lets put the lot on red (and white) and **** it and rumble' approach from down the road - it would be totally inconsistent with how he has approached things financially to date... therefore teh current best guess conclusion is that its a cash flow issue having invested 30 mil in players this year whilst we await the prem money ( or cash from Marcus's leagcy?) and that we have had to pay up front for Gaston as opposed to over 2 or 3 years. We do not have Man City money, but I do not think at this time we are in the 'sheidt, we are on afinancial meltdown spiral' either. As to a relegation, I suspect ALL contracts have a relegation clause and as we have young players with good sell on potential + 48 mil in parachutes, I doubt we will be doing a rpeat of the last relegation should that happen... that is based on nothing but common sense
  18. Very Rock dude... very rock!
  19. NO worries, from your posts it's clear you are not in that camp and have taken time to present your opinion without the thinly veiled unpleasentness... NOt sure I agree with the term 'benefit culture' being a 'labour issue' - The Government provided benefits system is there to ensure those that can not provide for themselves are not destined to poverty - sadly the better the system (or more generous) we seem to have more that take advantage - this is in issue with the PEOPLE of this country, not the policy. If only those who really needed it claimed, we could cut teh the benefits bill in half and ensure thsoe who really need it get a decent living standard.... our problme is that a benefits culture seems to be endemic within the 'British' menality... The systems in France and Germany are far more generous with 80% of last wage as unemployment benefit for example... so you dont suddenly get the baliffs round, but it declines month on month so it encourages job seeking... and they dont have the problems that we do... I appreciate the whole NHS tourist issue - but froma civilised society perspective, providing Healthcare to those who simply have no means to it despite the cost, is still something I feel shows us in a civilised and mature light - and frankly the costs to the NHS of this sector are tiny - I would argue its a tiny price to pay for something we can be proud of - we dont turn folk in need away and despite teh problems this can cause, it just shows us in an even better light. Ultimately, it comes down to the a simple issue, IMHO. The numbers that sponge and ad feck all ARE a very small percentage any immigrant group... the vast majority work, pay tax and NOI and contribute to our society, with graft, intellect etc. I believe that putting up with the freeeloaders is a worthwhile price for this and the freedoms this affords people - we can live and work within the EU and vice versa, pay tax locally and benefit from local social services... but as is very common, only the negative aspects are frequently plastered over the media, and inevitably blown out of all proportion
  20. Jeez Pap -... I used to have hair like that ... and the scruffy beardy growth back in 1989/90 when a Stoodent - now sadly hair is short out of necessity...
  21. Interesting that BVI loan a curve ball for sure - I can ONLY speculate. I do not think we have Man City cash levels, but I 'think' (not believe) we have sort provision - but its limited. I also suspect that NCs budgeting means this is not likely to be spent in one hit but be measured and the majority is for infrastructure. I suspect we recognised the need to spend a few £ to try and ensure we stayed up, and were thrown by the need to stump up the 12-15 mil for Gaston in one hit up front - hence a cash flow loan... this nis all speculation though. As to whether we will ever be able to buy success without bank rupting ourselves - obviously not. As to getting ucky with a bunch of kids that have exceptional talent and stay together for a few seasons at least, who knows - but would rather we try and fail, than not to even bother and keep selling talent the moment anyone is interested. Just being IN the prem, is pointless unless you are more concerned about who we play - it is about winning matches (which is why the L1 and last NPC seasons were so enjoyable) and striving to win them all is surely a good thing no matter what the reality may dictate.
  22. Are you really that dense or simply a WUM? Please even if WUM, at least dont make yourself look like such a thick tw at by mis quoting/interpreting others posts - its just pathetically infantile...
  23. Behave Dunce, there is nothing in that statement that suggests people against 'rampant' immigration are racist - but this is another classic - 'rampant' as if millions upon millions of unskilled folk willing to work for £2 an hour are suddenly going to arrive.... keep spreading the Bile and you will get those that make you look so stupid. Unions have a function in protecting the worker who pay their subs... therefore ANY issue that may impact on the jobs of tehir members they will be speaking out - and if 'rampant' immigration and the sudden sacking of 200,000 workers to be rplced by 200,000 romanians on half the pay were likely they would have a point - but that is NOT going to happen - you know it, Even the Daily Mail knows it, yet it seems not to stop them peddling this sort of ignorant sheidt.
  24. Ha ha make no difference whether you are or not, as its all hidden behind avatars anyway - what is clear is you and Dune share very common ideology, turns of phase, attitudes - ou could be twins
  25. Jeez Dune... you make yourself look sillier with every post - Check up on where the investmnet in Land Rover came from in recent years, a company that would have ben dead but for that investment - and you are also talking about a company that produces cars starting at over 25k - where is our auto industry? The only UK prodced sensibily priced car is the Mini - owned by BMW, whose development was funded by BMW.... the reason our car industry is dead is because als already stated (if you bothered to read properly) the attitude of workers and lack of investment in the 70s and 80s.
